I have a feeling today is going to go by in just a few blinks.
This week, I have been trying my best to prepare for my seventeen day trip down to Florida, and I leave tomorrow morning!
No matter how much time I give myself on the computer, I always seem to use it up doing who knows what. Today, I need to focus on finishing up a few important things, get off of Facebook, and tie up some loose ends.
Scott will not be joining me down south until mid-May, so I have been busy cleaning, filling the house with groceries, and making sure we have enough pet food and supplies to get us through the next month.
He is a grown man, yes, but is is a busy one who is traveling even more than I am this month! So, I pulled a good wife move and took care of ’em.
Michigan must know I am leaving because it is finally starting to warm up to a beautiful, warm spring! Figures. I got home from a few errands yesterday just after lunchtime and decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather outside with an afternoon run around the neighborhood.
The nature is so beautiful up here… I guess our friends were right after all. The few months it is actually warm here are very much worth waiting for!
I could tell I was not the only one excited to get in some Vitamin D, either.
It has been quite some time since I took Roadie out for a run with me, and he loved every minute of it. I made sure to give him plenty of opportunities to rest, and I am proud of him for getting through three miles with me.
I decided against the neighborhood trail Scott and I stumbled upon, because I wasn’t sure how Roadie would do with the distance running in the sun again. After all, it has been six months since we ran together in Florida!
When he wanted to veer of road, I eventually gave up and let him. He had already done enough “business”, so I think this was his way of taking a breather with a side of the fresh air.
I still cannot get over how green the grass is here! I remember the summertime being pretty at my grandmother’s in northern Michigan, but have never been up here during the springtime.
It’s amazing how quickly the flowers and colors pop up!
So pretty.
During the home stretch of our run, we slowed down and walked the last quarter mile or so. The sun was bright, and he was panting up a storm. That always means it is time to head inside to cool down and hydrate up.
Even tired, I could tell he was loving the quality time together before I leave.
(Don’t mind the red run face! Happens every time it’s not snowing out.)
After publishing this, I am looking forward to digging into last night’s dinner leftovers for lunch. In an effort to clean out whatever needed to be used up in the refrigerator yesterday, I made a version of my Skinny Pasta Pizzaiola – sans the mushrooms and onions, only because we did not already have them on hand.
This time I used Hidden Veggie Thin Spaghetti, and Scott still has no idea! I am getting pretty good at sneaking extra vegetables into all of our meals these days.
(But lets just keep that between us!)
With that, I am off to heat a plate up and get back to work! I will be heading out to the airport tomorrow morning, but will be sure to check in with you before then.
Happy Thursday!

Bring your rain boots to Florida. JAX is predicting rain all weekend. Sorry, no sunshine for a few days. See you Saturday!!!
