Good Morning! I really and truly hope those of you who are celebrating Labor Day in the U.S. today are enjoying the day.
You can usually expect a weekend recap of some sorts here on Mondays, however, the time I allowed myself to do that last night and this morning I wanted nothing to do with using muscles in my body, especially my brain.
You see… Scott and I haven’t been home more than enough to eat and sleep this weekend. Well, mostly just sleep. So that’s what I did.
I’m pretty sure Roadie wants to trade us in for that couple who spoiled him with countless runs and trips to the dog park over the summer. Poor guy.
Quick thought:
It’s funny. Ever since I got into the NBA back in 2007, I quickly realized that holidays are just another day on the schedule. Together, Scott and I have worked three Christmas Day games (in a row) in Orlando, St. Patrick’s Day games (and there is another one coming up this year!) New Year’s Day games, and numerous Thanksgiving Day events. The NBA All-Star weekend happens to fall on Valentine’s Day every year, so it is almost a guarantee that is where we will be or what our weekend will be centered around doing while watching from home.
The last thing I want to do is complain about it. It is what it is! There are so many wonderful and amazing opportunities the two of us have been able to experience because of the NBA, and working crazy hours and holidays is just part of the small portion I don’t love. Let me just close that thought by saying I feel very blessed and appreciative that – seven years later – both of us still have a home in the league and are able to stay active in it. We love it!
I have about five minutes until I need to get ready to head out the door for our last full day, so I’m not quite sure where to go here. Currently, I’m typing up this post while sipping on heated up day-old coffee. That’s about where my effort level is at, my friends.
I fully plan on recapping the happenings of our long weekend at Arts, Beats, and Eats in Royal Oak. It’s actually our favorite festival of the year, and if you are anywhere around the NBA Nation area be sure to stop by and say hello!
In the mean time, I’ll make a point to grab more photos of the festival and less of the courts and our entertainment teams to share with you. It’s amazing how my brain functions (or doesn’t) after standing in the sun for eight hours at a time. Don’t worry girls, shawty’s got this.
I promise much more interesting content later on (hopefully) tonight, if not tomorrow.
Until then, I wish you all a fabulous day doing whatever you do best on holidays! Enjoy the sales, enjoy the extra family time, and for the love of all of us… bask the day off if you’ve got it. Happy Monday!

True, sometimes we complain about work, but we don’t realize that we are blessed by having the opprotunity to earn something, and enjoy it while we are doing it (if you love it of course) 😀 have a good day!!!
Heather
Exactly. Thanks for your reminder as well!

Ha…we all know it’s bad when we are hitting the day old coffee. Cute post. 🙂 Have fun at the festival!

I had a day recently when I reused a coffee filter. No judgment. It happens 🙂
Heather
Oh, I have definitely done that before! 😉
Presley
No shame in your coffee game.
Happy Labor Day!
