I’ve been a pretty big fan of wearing stripes lately. I’ve heard people say horizontal stripes can accentuate your figure in the wrong ways, however, I might just be in love with this polka dots and stripes combo.
Scott helped me pick out this dress a while ago, and I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to wear it.
Sunday night, I think I got it. Since this dress is very patterned, I only added 3 more elements to make the outfit.
1. Dress: Material Girl via Macy’s
2. Earrings: Betsy Johnson via Betsy Johnson Outlet
I love the sparkle and I love the bows.
3. Tights: (Textured) from Macy’s
*TIP: Pairing tights with a form fitting, busy patterned dress can help that accentuating problem I mentioned earlier. It also doesn’t hurt that tights provide an extra layer of flattening.
*DOUBLE TIP: When wearing tights, avoid folding them over – this will create extra lines. Instead, pull them up and wear high at or above your waist.
4. Boots: Urban Outfitters
These are one of my go-to pairs of comfortable boots I’ve managed to make acceptable to go out in. You can wear them up or rolled down (pictured).
I guess you could say the look I was going for is Fun + Funky.
Oh, there’s one more…
5. Wristlet: Express
Question:
Who else likes wearing Polka Dots?
Stripes?
Polka Dots + Stripes?

Absolutely adorable! The dress on it’s own is already great, but the way you styled it only makes it ten times better. So cute!
Love the blog!

Thank you, Stephanie! I’m not quite sure if I love the dress or the earrings more so I’m glad they worked together 🙂

I’ve never done strips AND spots, but I do love horizontal strips. I don’t care what they do to my figure; they’re adorable!
Heather
Awesome, glad there’s another horizontal striper out there! 😉
