Good Morning! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine is still goin’ strong and while I am enjoying the Florida sunshine for just a few more hours, I have a fun at-home and travel workout to share with you.
I completed this workout a total of four times with a set of 10 pound dumbbell weights. They aren’t required, but it adds a little challenge to the sit-ups, bridges, wall sits, and side planks if you happen to have some accessible.
I also used my Gymboss Interval Timer (<- click for another at-home workout!) to help me out with the :45 exercise :15 break timing pattern.
Here are some video demonstrations:
• bridges, wall sits, side planks, plank hold
This workout is inspired by PUMA. I received this pink and purple combo as part of a FitFluential campaign and I am totally digging it!
Everything PUMA in my workout wardrobe is unique, so I didn’t expect anything less this time around when I excitedly received my shipment to review.
Both the Gym-licious Bra and Gym ACTV Power 3/4 Tight are made with ACTV technology, which is strategically placed to act like athletic tape right into the interior.
It gives the garment a compression type of feel I was already used to from the Performance Bodywear Tech ACTV Long Tight I previously reviewed. The material is made to feel like a second skin and designed to work with your body’s natural system to help maximize your performance both during and after your workout.
The Gym Loose Tank Top is light, comfortable, and very stylish with a cut out back. The 100% polyester mesh material reminds me of sports jerseys, only lighter with more freedom of movement.
As a former barre instructor and someone who likes to work out at odd times of the day, I don’t always get to shower directly after. I appreciate the dry and moisture resistant materials and also love the loose, comfy fit!
(Back to the tights.) I noticed that the pink under tone popped through the purple, especially when I moved in motions that stretched it. It’s kind of like… “hold up, are those see through? Nope. Just awesome.”
And then there were these guys.
Bubble XT Tribal Shoe
I saw this sneaker pop up on Instagram before I saw it in person, and I have to be honest: I wasn’t a fan. I thought the bottom “fluffy looking teeth” (as someone mentioned) might be unstable to train in and I wasn’t crazy about the print.
As soon as I received my pair, my opinion completely changed. These sneakers are fierce!
I put them on and noticed that they took to my foot right away. The material really sucks you in! I heard a slight crunching sound with each step I took that kind of reminded me of a tarp? A diaper? I don’t know. It’s somewhat entertaining to try and figure out.
The biggest plus of all is their portability. You could literally squish them flat, right down to the sole without ruining the shoe.
When I saw the online description of them, I totally got it. And I couldn’t have said it better myself:
“Picture this: you’re cozied up on the couch. Half changed into your gym gear. Seriously contemplating catching a workout class. Yet…you could just as easily stay put for hour 19 of that home design show marathon. But slip on your cute, colorful Bubble XTs, and – #allofasudden – you’re inspired to sweat out all that real estate drama. After all, the Bubble XT has some authentically sporty genes with its innovative bubble-shaped cushioning pods, plus a colorful, on-trend silhouette that’s perfect for the commute to and from a workout. (Full disclosure: these kicks are just as cute for a lazy day in front of the TV. But, c’mon, that’s why they invented DVR.)”Right? And I couldn’t believe just how comfortable and squishy they are!
Some of the features I love about this shoe include:
• heel pull tab in back
• extremely lightweight (4.7 ounces!)
• rubber outsole (extra grip)
• bubble-shaped midsole pods (extra cushioning)
• snug fit with adjustable laces
• (synthetic) suede overlays
While I might not have originally felt the most comfortable training in them, I have taken to them quite a bit. They’re so fun and funky!
All of these pieces can be found on the PUMA website, and you can also purchase the shoes through Finishline. Happy Cardio + Coring!

Hey Heather! Love the new workout! and I really love that tank top, it’s super cute and looks really comfy. Just a quick question, as a former barre instructor, do you consider barre to compare to strength training with weights? I’m just curious because I started taking pure barre classes last month and love it so much more than the weight room. Thanks!
Heather
This is a tricky question, because I feel like the answer depends on the person. For me (a dancer and someone looking to maintain a long an lean body), barre can completely take over my need to lift weights separately. The style of workout incorporates moves and holds that use your own body for resistance, but also includes light weights and a lot of repetitions to build muscle. I am really happy with my results when I have a routine of barre, Fitness Pilates, and cardio like running or the elliptical on a consistent basis.

Ok. I have to ask… How do you maintain your spray tan so well? Do you base tan in a bed as well? My tan gets uneven with winter weather and workouts. Exfoliation can sometimes make it even more uneven at first (I usually have to exfoliate atleast twice before I can start overly). I know you have these same obstacles so what gives? I would love to know! Thanks Heather 🙂
Heather
To be honest, I used to base tan years ago and started it again last NBA season, but I don’t anymore. I just can’t. Luckily, my team is sponsored by a tanning salon and we get airbrushed spray tans (from a person, not a machine) taken care of. If I could, I would get a fresh spray every week! Okay sometimes I do… lol. But, I definitely encounter areas of blotching as it wears off and sometimes need to take a break from it.
One thing my spray tan lady recommends is exfoliating gloves. She gave me a pair a few months ago and I make sure to use them the morning of my spray, and also when I am ready to get my spray tan off. You can usually find them in the health and beauty section at stores like Target, Walmart, etc.
If we have a heavy game schedule and I am getting weekly spray tans, I make sure to take an exfoliating shower the night before and the morning of. I use the gloves, shave, and also use a wet wash cloth after I get out of the shower if I need to.
Also, a key to spray tanning is moisturizing afterwards. I am really obsessive about putting lotion on any time I take a shower after a spray. I also am careful about patting with a towel, and I avoid using a loofah sponge for a few days if I don’t want the layer to come off.
As far as maintaining a base tan goes, I rely on self tanner lotions. Here are some of my favorites: https://lifeinleggings.com/beauty/top-20-photoshoot-tips-tricks/
Sometimes I use Hawaiian Tropic Radiance Creme instead of the Sublime when I feel like I need a more moisturizing lotion
Hope this helps! 🙂

That shirt is adorable. I am so addicted to workout clothes that I should have probably just skipped this post so I wouldn’t be tempted by anything! I love the color of the pants, as well!
