Scott and I wanted to make a party mix for our New Year’s Eve get together. Instead of buying a traditional small bag of M&M’s and peanut trail mix for $10, I decided to up the quantity and get the most bang for my buck by making my own.
Sweet and salty might be my favorite combination of food… ever. Chocolate covered pretzels are a complete weakness, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to stay away from the leftovers when it lived in my kitchen for a few days.
Okay fine… I admit it. There weren’t any leftovers. A few days after the party I took it upon myself to make another batch just for us. Oops!
I loved the combination of the teddy grahams, chocolate and marshmallows. It gave the mix a little bit of a S’more taste and I made sure to include all three of those items in every bite. Hey, everyone deserves a little treat once in a while. Let’s break it down!
Ingredients
1 bag pretzel squares
1.5 cups raw almonds, original or chocolate flavored
1 box teddy grahams, honey flavored
1 cup raisins
1 mini bag of popcorn, I used SmartPop! Kettle Corn
1 mini bag of mini marshmallows
1 bulk bag of original M&M’s
prep time: 5 minutes
servings: enough for a party!
Directions
1. Pop popcorn according to package directions.
2. Mix all ingredients in a large gallon sized freezer bag. You may need to do this more that once to fit everything.
3. Shake it up, until everything is mixed together.
4. Serve in a large bowl and store all leftovers in an airtight container.
