Good morning and afternoon! It’s been an interesting day over here. I apologize to any of you who were trying to access the site earlier. Apparently, the Internet hates me today and kicked me and this blog out for several hours.
That’s probably one of the most frustrating things to do to someone who works at home (on a blog) during certain windows of time. I’m currently typing this post up as a draft and am crossing my fingers that the server finds a way to work sooner than later so I can publish it… several hours later. Ahhh, technology. You’re a tricky one.
Anyways, it has been a couple of weeks since I joined in on What I Ate Wednesday, so I figured I’d jump back on the party bus today. Below you will find an entire day of unfiltered (and unplanned) eats. Enjoy!
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
My morning started with a big ‘ol yogurt bowl for breakfast with a side of coffee from one of my favorite mugs.
Plain Greek yogurt topped in soft granola and berries
That did the trick for a while, but I went right back to the bag of soft baked (gluten-free) granola to snack on while I worked at the computer.
Lunch happened a lot later than usual, so my appetite was raging by the time I got around to it. I knew I wanted to go for a run, so I ate enough, but I could have probably gone for more if I wasn’t going to be bouncing about.
Leftover chicken wrap from Yaya’s with a side of hummus, green peppers, and cottage cheese
I finally leashed Roadie and got out the door for a quick two mile loop around the neighborhood around 3:45 p.m. I couldn’t believe how hot it was. Summer, you are here!
It’s crazy how much that one little spot on our path changes throughout the seasons. Right now, I am appreciating the small patch of shade while we run. With temperatures climbing into the high 80s and low 90s, this might have been my last run with him for a bit. I feel bad taking him either way… he loves to run with me and hates when I leave him behind, but I get nervous taking him in hot running conditions.
If I do take him, I make sure to catch as much shade as possible and only take him out for about twenty minutes. I can tell he gets pretty tuckered out by the end!
As was I. (Welcome back, red running face.)
After we both hydrated and cooled off, I hopped in the shower and got ready for work as quickly as I could. I grabbed a healthy chocolate banana split popsicle for the road and arrived in just enough time to get ready for my 5 p.m. client.
I enjoyed a bottle of Enlightened Synergy Raspberry Chia Kombucha while I trained and kept my water bottle close by for the next several hours.
I taught three small group training classes after that, and snacked on these delicious pretzel crisps on any breaks.
The last class of the day only took about 30 minutes for clients to complete, so I decided to stick around and do my own class after I was finished teaching for the day. This class is labeled Rockit, and is a high energy workout that challenges your entire body with strength training circuits to burn fat using a variety of equipment.
I completed the workout on the board that went as follows:
3 ROUNDS
sit ups x 12
kettlebell swings x 12
jump ropes x 50
5 ROUNDS
push ups x 9
TRX rows x 9
7 ROUNDS
sandbag cleans x 6
box jumps x 6
It was a sweaty one!
Scott picked me up from the gym at 9:30 and informed me we were meeting a friend for dinner at Bar Louie. They have $1 burgers on Tuesdays, so we like to take advantage of it from time to time. To be fair, my burgers are always more than a dollar after I add toppings to it and a side, but it still comes out as a steal.
Turkey burger (no bun) with grilled mushrooms, roasted red peppers, lettuce, and avocado with a side of fries
I was pretty hungry! I ate every bite of the burger and majority of the fries. Our dinner turned into a late night return, so I took a shower and called it a night right before midnight!

I planned to check back in this afternoon with a new workout to share, but… server problems backed me up quite a bit and now it’s time for me to get ready for work. I guess that’s just how the cookie crumbles.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Wednesday, and I’ll be back bright and early with an at-home HIIT circuit!

Questions of the Day
• Do you take advantage of $1 (or similar) deals at local restaurants?
• Are you a fan of kombucha?
I’ve always loved kombucha with chia seeds. A lot of people dislike the texture of the seeds, but I like having something in there to thicken it up. Plus, I’m not a huge lover of the vinegar taste, and chia seeds cover it up. The raspberry and grape flavors are my favorites! Now if I could only find it less than 2 for $6, we’d be golden. 😉

That popsicle looks perfect on a hot day like today!! I totally want one! And I’m glad your site is back! Site outages are the worst.
Heather
You don’t realize how much you reference your site and old posts until you go to draft a new one and can’t find anything. 😉 Thanks Erin!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Hi Heather! I would have been SO frustrated with the server issues, I hope that doesn’t happen again. Glad you are back up and running. And I’m also glad to see cottage cheese made it into your day! Yay for late-night burgers. 🙂 Happy Wednesday!
Heather
Thanks Ashley! Yeah, it used to happen all the time and then I finally upgraded my package to accommodate more page views. This seems like it was a completely separate issue that A TON of sites were dealing with today. Gotta love it!
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs (@cowgirlruns)
I love all kinds of ‘bucha!
I sounds like today was a day of internet gremlins as I heard of a lot of other people having blog issues as well. Hopefully they’re over with!
Heather
Yes, fingers and toes crossed! I need to branch out and try more kombucha flavors… 😉 Happy Wednesday!

Oooh I like that workout! I get the red running face too. Even when it’s not that hot out 🙁
Heather
It was a doozy! Haha, I used to get red running face every single time I ran in Florida. In Michigan, I barely sweat half the year… so… I guess there’s that. 😉
yogawinehappiness
It has been so hot here in Chicago too! Too hot to do things in the afternoons outside!
