Good morning! It’s a snow day here with most schools closed and several inches on the ground.
I’m in a bit of a chatty mood today, so I thought it would be fun to throw in a survey. I enjoy reading them when others share random questions and answers, so I hope you like reading this one and get to know me a little better!
I put this list together while daydreaming after work last night. Scott and I love to play the “Would You Rather …?” game and come up with some pretty interesting questions at times.
I kept this collection family-friendly so you could play a round with the kids or even take them on a road trip if you’re bored and looking for something to spark a conversation.
I’d love to hear your answers to some of the questions in the comments section, too!
Would you rather …
Be an amazing actor/actress or singer?
I opened the gate with a tough one, as this is always something I debate. It would be so neat to be a part of a movie or television sitcom, but I think I have to stick with being an amazing singer. I really wish I could belt out those ballads like Kelly Clarkson!
Go camping in the mountains for the weekend or get a hotel on the beach?
Definitely get a hotel on the beach. While I appreciate the beauty of the mountains, I appreciate indoor plumbing and the sunshine next to the ocean much, much more.
(Throwback to my bachelorette party weekend in/on St. Pete Beach! Swoon.)
That is my happy place.
Have to sit all day or stand all day?
I’ve had jobs that ranged from sitting all day to standing all day, and both were hard. I love having to be on my feet all day. Even though it may hurt in the long run, it drives me crazy to sit still in one place for too long.
Have a night out on the town or night in with Netflix?
Every now and then? A night out on the town. Most weekends? A night in with Netflix. #sorrynotsorry
Go skiing/snowboarding or waterskiing?
Even though I have a fear of lake water (it’s serious), I have to go with waterskiing. I grew up in Florida with trips to our neighborhood lake on our family boat every weekend, so just being on the water makes me happy. I guess I’d have to learn to be really good if I don’t want to stay in it for too long. 😉
Be able to exist healthily without food or without sleep?
I don’t think I could ever give up food. Sleep would be hard too, but at least I would be awake to enjoy anything I want to eat.
Endless chips, salsa, guacamole, and skinny margaritas. Absolutely!
Go by your first or middle name?
In college, most of my friends called me Betty, which is my middle name. My parents named me (well, my middle name) after my Nana, so it never bothered me. I also acquired the nick name HB that still hasn’t left. I prefer Heather, but a HB or Betty makes me smile from time to time.
Have a kangaroo or koala as a pet?
Koala! They seem a lot more snuggly. Plus, a kangaroo could do some serious boxing damage if you get on its bad side.
Lose $1,000 or lose all of your phone contacts?
Probably my phone contacts. Most are stored other places (yeahhh iCloud), and I’ve always gone by the theory that anyone I talk to on a regular basis will eventually call or text me.
Eat cookies or french fries?
I don’t think there is any way I can answer this one. French fries are my down fall, especially if they are sweet potato. My favorite food, however, has shifted to cookies and milk lately … so I’ll have to go with cookies.
Be hot all the time or cold all the time?
Hot! I’ve got Florida blood and spend a ridiculous amount of time thinking about how cold it is to live somewhere as north as Michigan.
That’s not normal, haha.
Read the book or watch the movie?
As much as I’d like to say read the book, I’m not going to lie. I’ve seen all of the Twilight movies, all of the Hunger Games movies, Gone Girl, Fifty Shades of Grey, and haven’t picked up any of those books. I guess I’m a visual person.
Drink hot or iced coffee/tea?
Hot! I think I’ve ordered an iced coffee about a dozen times … ever. It has to be really hot for me to order a coffee or tea cold, mostly because I would finish the drink in 5 minutes or less. I tend to hold on to warmer drinks longer and savor every sip.
Live in a small town or big city?
Big city all the way! I’ve always wanted to live in a city where I don’t have to drive … especially in the snow. I love the idea of being within walking distance of a coffee shop and the fact that there is always something to do.
Cook a gourmet meal at home or order take-out from an upscale restaurant?
I love cooking with Scott because he’s really good at putting fancy meals together. If I were on my own, however, I’d have to go with ordering take-out. I used to order our favorite dishes from our favorite restaurant back home for special nights or anniversaries in where we didn’t want to go out. Set the table with candles and fresh flowers and it’s almost better than being there!
Wear pajamas or a dress suit everywhere, every day?
Are leggings an option? As awkward as it would be to wear them out to a nice dinner, I have to go with pajamas.
Plus, I could always be a super hero that way.
Have a year without paying taxes or an extra month of paid vacation?
I would practically take any job that offered an extra month of paid vacation. I could use the money and time to travel the world or spend some much needed quality time with friends and family back home!
Live without music or television?
Definitely television. Whether I’m on the computer, working out, or just cleaning up around the house, there is almost always music playing in the background. It calms me down and amps me up! I think an absence of television would actually be refreshing.
Watch 5 classic Disney princess movies you’ve seen 10+ times or 3 Pixar movies you’ve never seen?
Disney princess movies all the way. I love Pixar, but Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, and Aurora will always hold a special piece of my heart. I could watch all of those movies right now and be happy as a clam all day!
(Yes, this was my cake for my 22nd birthday. Luckily, my friend Meggan shared the same cheesy love for Disney princesses at the time, and we had a joint birthday celebration – in a private loft at a bar – called MeggaHeather Palooza. True story. Ha!)
Take a European sight-seeing vacation or relaxing Caribbean vacation?
Oh man, this is hard! I love relaxing in the Caribbean (take me back to ordering Bahama Mamas on the beach!), but exploring more of Europe is on my bucket list. I’ve been to Italy, Greece, France, Switzerland, and England, but all of those trips were pretty short and most were work related. Ireland is somewhere Scott and I are saving for one day soon!
Now it’s your turn!
Would you rather …
Be hot all the time or cold all the time?
Live in a small town or big city?
Live without music or television?
Be an amazing actor/actress or singer?

What a cute survey, I love learning more about bloggers. I would definitely choose be hot all the time, probably because I live in Canada and I’m sick of the cold!

Thanks! And right? It’s supposed to get up to the 60s next week here in MI – let’s hope it stays there!
I already am cold all the time (southerner in the northern midwest problems, I know you feel me there). My husband is rarely cold, haha. I seriously nodded yes, yes yes to just about all of your answers!

So yes, you totally feel my pain! Scott is the same way. I’m always wearing a parka when he barely bundles up. Oh well! That’s funny you say you nodded yes to everything because I just asked all of these questions to him and he disagreed with half. 😉
You are correct! Koalas are incredibly snuggly and cuddly! I held one once–many moons ago–when I visited Australia!
How awesome! That’s something else that is on my bucket list. So fun!
Big city for sure!! I grew up in a small town and live in a medium-sized city now, but I would LOVE to live in a place like Chicago or DC with a great public transit system, tons of fun restaurants and bars to visit, culture, people….ahh!
P.S. I’m named after my grandma, too! My middle name is Beth (she was Elizabeth) but went by Betty. 🙂

Agreed! I grew up in Orlando, but in the suburbs where you have to have a car, and all of the good spots are spread out. How cute! My Nana’s given name was Elizabeth, too. She always went by Betty! <3
I live in big city now, and sometimes I wanna go to a small town. But then I visit my grandma in small town and live there for a while, I start to miss big city #choosingishard
I don’t think I could go from living in the suburbs of a big city to a very small town, but I do like the option of driving to the city!
I love this survey! So fun! And even though I’m a Chicagoan through and through I’d always prefer to be hot than cold.

Love Chicago! And yes, I agree. 😉
Oooh I love this. I totally have to steal this at some point. I live in a suburban area now, but I think I’d love living in a big city. Walking everywhere and always having things to do would be awesome.
Kelly @ Kelly Runs For Food recently posted…My disappearing act + WIAW
Steal away! I agree on the walking part. I might, however, run into some annoyances once we grow our family. Strollers + subway seems like it would be a hassle!
Such a fun post! I would much rather be hot as long as there was a body of water or pool nearby! And big city any day! Thanks to my boyfriend being a high school football coach, I’m currently living in a small town and hate it! I’m not a small town girl one bit.
YES! Hot with my toes dipped in a pool is my favorite. Aw, enjoy the season of living in a small town while you’re there. You might appreciate it one day!
Love this! My family and I always play this game, though some of the questions are a bit on the more risque side, haha. I am going to steal t his and post it too 🙂 (of course linking back to you!) I’d rather be in the heat I think.. and I’m not a big city girl that’s for sure!
Haha, us too. I figured I’d save those just for us! 😉
I’ve loved The Little Mermaid since I was little and since my mom makes cakes part time, I had her make me an Ariel cake…for one of my birthdays in my 20s. No shame.

The Little Mermaid is one of my faves! I could probably quote the whole movie. I love that you had a similar cake! Woo!
This is such a fun survey! Oh man I’d for sure be a singer. Sometimes in when I’m singing in the car I think I am just that 🙂 And the city vs. small town is a tough one! I LOVE visiting big cities and I want to visit every major city at least once. I don’t know if I could live in one though. I love the town I live in now and being a good driving distance to several big cities.

Haha, I think we all think we are really good at singing in the car … or the shower. 😉
That cake is epiccc! I need it for my 26th birthday! haha. I am also a beach kind of girl. This was fun, thanks for sharing!
