Hello and Happy Memorial Day to you Americans out there!
Currently, I am still sitting in my pajamas, sipping my coffee late in the morning, I am loving the excuse that today is a “holiday” morning, so I don’t really “have” to do much. As much as we are enjoying our barbecues, sunshine, parties, and first few days of the summer, it’s important to remember why and what we are celebrating.
And it’s not over any attempt at making red, white, and blue food, either.
*Remembering the men and women who lost their lives serving our country in the armed forces and military troops, and thinking and praying for their families. Thank you so much for all you have done and do every day! ♥
Since it’s finally warm enough to wear shorts and tank tops around here, Scott and I don’t plan on letting that go to waste. We still aren’t sure of our plans for the day, but I do know they will involve doing something outside, preferably in a bathing suit.
15 Awesome America Songs
Before we get goin’, I wanted to share a fun patriotic playlist I put together for a parade yesterday. I was privileged enough to ride shotgun next to the crazy horse HOOPER again, and had the task of creating an upbeat red, white and blue themed playlist for him to dance to while we strolled through the streets in his truck.
I added about five songs to the list to share with you guys, and I have a feeling you can point out at least two of those additions. (Kid Rock, reppin’ the D… woot!)
Whatever you’re doing today, I hope this can help you add in a little patriotic pride!
I have a full weekend recap coming at you later, so I’m going to leave you with something I inherited from the parade and took two seconds to put up on our house.
‘Merica!
Have a very safe, marvelous and Happy Memorial Day!

I love how many songs exist about America, even if they aren’t strictly patriotic. Celebrating our country through song is great, especially when those songs come up on the radio. There’s no need to wait until Independence Day to celebrate the great country we live in! Thanks for sharing your song list.
