Scott and I have been on a mission to find ways to save money when dining out in Orlando. We search for groupons, deals on living social, and collect coupons whenever we see ones worth saving.
A few weeks ago we saw a $1 Burgers advertisement for Bar Louie and had to check it out in person. We’ve been to the restaurant a few times and have always enjoyed the hang easy atmosphere and menu.
Bar Louie restaurants are located across the US, but don’t feel left out if you can’t find one close to you.
I have two great deals to report and will get to deal two in a minute.
Discounted Gourmet Burgers
Scott and I walked into Bar Louie around 7pm, which was just enough time to snag one of the last empty tables. It has a happy hour type of feel at the bar and gets packed with $1 burger fans from all around town every Tuesday.
Scott ordered an Arnold Palmer (half tea, half lemonade) and I treated myself to a glass of Moscato.
We came for the burgers, but that doesn’t exclude us from enjoying this trio of dips and warm tortilla chips.
Anyone who’s ever been out to eat with me knows this is my absolute weakness I can NEVER down. The salsa was great, the guacamole was good and the queso was everything I’d hoped it to be.
When ordering, we asked our server about the $1 burger deal and he let us know it includes a regular hamburger or cheeseburger without the sides. Not being the biggest fan of red meat, I smiled and asked if I could substitute for a turkey burger. He didn’t really go for the smile and relayed that any of the gourmet burgers are an additional $3.50 upcharge from the dollar, totaling $4.50.
$4.50 for this savory turkey burger topped with lettuce, pepper jack, jalapeno and guacamole?
Yes please.
After looking at the menu again, I now realize I ordered the regular turkey burger which came with tomato, red onion, roasted red pepper, greens, provolone and atheno sauce, but got the Southwest sub Turkey Patty instead.
Whatever it was, it was delicious and I enjoyed every spicy jalapeno flavored bite.
If you’re ever craving a burger on a Tuesday, I now know where you can Eat • Drink • (and) Be Happy.
BOGO April Deal at Subway
I taught an early morning barre class Wednesday and was already back home by 7:45am. After getting some work done on the computer, I remembered a deal I heard on a commercial and wanted to take advantage of it right then and there.
Roadie’s morning walk turned into walking 0.8 miles with him and Scott to the closest Subway, eating breakfast, and walking back home with lunch in hand.
Have you ever tried breakfast at Subway? I have, and I almost like it better than their lunch subs.
I love the concept of being able to add whatever meat, egg and veggies I want to a muffin or flat. On a long day, I’ve been known to grab a breakfast sandwich on-the-go from Subway, leaving with a six inch sub to enjoy later for lunch.
I know all of you could partake in this deal, if you’re so inclined…
Through the end of April, Subway is offering a buy one 6″ sandwich get one of equal value for free before 9am.
This means breakfast and lunch for you, for $4:
Breakfast for two for $3.75:
Pictured is a 6″ flat with turkey, egg whites, shredded cheese, tomatoes, green peppers, black olives and salt and pepper.
Lunch for two for $4:
Pictured is a 6″ whole wheat sub with turkey, American cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, tomato, banana peppers, green peppers, pickles, salt and pepper and oil & vinegar.
-OR-
TWO breakfasts and TWO lunches for $8.25!
That’s a pretty good deal, if you ask me.
After the burger and sandwiches this week, I think I’m set in that category for a while. Whether I go back again this month or not, I hope this bit of information helps you to enjoy at least one free or $1 menu item.
Have a great weekend! 🙂
