I know this is technically still the first week of fall, but the current weather situation in the Metro Detroit area has me diving in face first.
We’ve already made a few pumpkin recipes (I still can’t stop eating these pumpkin spice cookies…) and I’m dying to visit the cider mill. Again. I’m completely smitten.
Can you blame me though?
With a high in the low 60s and low in the mid forties, it’s what I like to call the perfect running weather. The sun has also been peeking out a lot lately, so it’s hard not to want to spend the entire day walking the trails.
You won’t find me on the trails today, but I am looking forward to attending a barre class in the park tonight. That’s right, Rochester is finally getting Pure Barre! I know… I’m excited too. It will be nice to get outside pre-sunset and feel the barre burn again!
Anyways, all of this fall talk brings me to the newest set of tunes I have been enjoying on all of these said perfect fall runs lately.
I started putting this list together at the beginning of September, and it just keeps growing.
I love the upbeat tempos!
(You can stream and even download this exact playlist here.)
This time, I added the cool down song into the mix because it’s still got a great beat. Anddd maybe because I love Carly Rae Jepson.
I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been listening to this playlist almost every day. I’ve been automatically putting it on during my workouts and even turning to it when I need an upbeat pick-me-up in the afternoons.
As you might have gathered from my latest Weekly Workouts post, I’ve been spending a lot of my free time on walks with this guy lately. I’m also testing out the new Polar Loop 2 (a full review will be coming soon!), so I’ve been extra walk-happy to make sure and get in my steps on the days I sit at the computer for hours and hours.
Roadie and I have been thoroughly loving the crisp in the air, and I have been racing home from teaching at night in order to be able to fit in a quick run around the neighborhood.
While I’m not entirely happy that the sun is setting earlier and earlier as the days pass by, I have to admit that catching the sunsets on my nightly adventures is absolutely stunning.
Give me pink skies and a great set of tunes, and I’m good to go for miles!
I hate to cut it short today, but I’ve got some errands to run before heading into work at the gym today. I’m putting some games together for a very special bridal shower this weekend, and I am also looking forward to the excuse to get crafty again.
I’ll be sure to share how they went after the weekend!

Question of the Afternoon
• What is your favorite song to jam out to lately?

I’ve been using the “run” feature on spotify a lot lately. It matches your pace to the beats in songs. It works on the free version, which I think is pretty impressive. I HAVE to have music playing during my runs or I get so bored.

I’ve actually tried that before, but never stumbled upon any music with lyrics. Just beats. Is it the same for you?
