Happy Friday, everyone!
I’m so glad you’re here today. It really does fill my soul to be able to check in on the blog regularly again, and today I have a new set of Friday Favorites to chat about.
Scott returned from his trip to Chicago, and I know both Skyler and I are looking forward to spending some time together later tonight. Do you have any fun plans on deck for the weekend? I always love hearing what you’ve been loving and are looking forward to as well.
Now onto the faves … here’s what’s been going on over here!
LATEST FRIDAY FAVORITES
- transitions
It’s been two weeks since I transitioned out of working full-time, and my life has been incredibly different. (In case you missed it, I explained everything about the decision for this change in this post.) I feel completely blessed to be able to spend my days at home with Skyler, and we’re figuring out all of the work-at-home details day by day.
To be transparent, my work at home currently consists of writing this blog, running my business, and working on freelance projects. I am going to be working with Scott on his business, and in the next few weeks, I hope to add something in the fitness space to my schedule, too.
I’m doing my best to manage my time (the nap time hustle is real!) and spend as much of it as I can with Skyler. He’s growing up so fast it hurts.

Right now, doing all of the things that I just listed makes me feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. And that’s a pretty amazing thing to say. While there are still crazy parts of my day, it’s a totally different type of busyness. I’m very thankful to get to be able to eat meals at home, and spend more of my downtime keeping the apartment clean and organized, too. Skyler loves “clean up time” and does his best to contribute … when he’s not undoing everything that I just did. Ha!
My favorite part of the days are now my much longer walks with him and Roadie. I used to rush them, as there was so much that I needed to do back at home. I now look at them as our time to get fresh air and take a break from everything else. I know this guy sure appreciates it.

Anyways, the long of the short of it is that I’m doing well. We’re still figuring some things out, but it’s all working itself out to be exactly what God had planned for us all along. And that’s so cool to be able to share and experience!
- scrunchies
Okay. I pushed back on this one coming back on trend, but I can’t fight it any longer.
I’m alllll about scrunchies lately, especially when they have a little bow on top! They make the standard ponytail a little more fancy, and they make my top knots a little fuller without pulling my hair too much.

The pink and white ones are from Old Navy and the teal and black ones are Lululemon Uplifting Scrunchie Bows.
I also have to admit that they’re nostalgic for me. Who else always rocked a scrunchie around their wrist in middle high school? Extra points for an oversized sweatshirt or shirt tied to the side, too.
- latest workouts
Here is the latest on the gym front. I enjoy sharing snippets of my workouts with you, and please feel free to reach out with any questions as I don’t include descriptions or exercises demos with the quick photo recaps I share on my social pages.

You can always reference more in the “Fitness” highlights on my Instagram page. I still need to organize these more, along with workouts on my Pinterest page. I’ll report back when it’s done and let you know exactly where to find them!
- Beautycounter pop-up giveaway (from me to you!)
Last week I mentioned a little something about the promotion currently going on with until 2/25. Well, it’s still going on, so if you’re on the fence about investing in a clean skincare regimen, now is the perfect time to do so.
You’d essentially be getting any Collection for a Regimen price, or receiving an extra full-sized product from the line for free. It’s a really great value, and I’d love to walk you through the details.
I’ve been receiving some inquiries about what line would be best for what type of skin, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to share a quick breakdown for those who might be in the same boat.

And then, of course, Counterman (not pictured) is the line created specifically for the unique needs of mens’ skin and facial hair. I purchased the travel set of this line for Scott over the holidays and he loves it!
Now onto the giveaway from me to you …
Since I appreciate all of you so much, not only for supporting my business, but also for enabling me to use this space to talk about the importance of switching over to cleaner products, I’m going to throw in a little incentive on top of the free product Beautycounter will send your way for the regimen or collection purchase.
For anyone who purchases anything at all during (using that specific link or the ones included in this post through 2/26), you will be entered to win one of my favorite full-sized products for free!

I will be randomly selecting the winner at the end of the month and will reach out to them via email to claim the prize.
And, I absolutely love talking about all things clean beauty, so please message me with any questions about anything that interests you when I share on Instagram stories.
Thanks again, beauties!
- Mommy & Me Meals
I shared an entire post on the subject earlier this week, and here’s another one that was a win last night. Man, I love the pre-cooked meats section at Trader Joe’s. They sell a variety of cooked and flavored chicken, meatloaf, pulled barbecue, pork, and more. It makes life so much easier when you just have to heat it up with the sides, and they’re very affordable!

Make sure to read the post out if you’re interested in extremely quick and easy meals that you can make for a toddler and enjoy eating yourself, too. My goal has always been to incorporate Skyler’s meals into whatever we’re eating, and he’s turned into a pretty good eater because of it!

» My Pros and Cons About Living in New York City
(This was a reader request, and it was so fun to write.)
There are amazing things about living in a place like New York City that go without saying. Today we’re talking about them along with the not-so glamorous parts.

» Prenatal Dumbbell (Arms & Core) Strength Workout
Check out this pregnancy-safe strength workout that concentrates on the arms and core. (But guys, this workout is perfect for pregnant women in any trimester as well as anyone who isn’t expecting at all.)

I think that’s it for now. I’m about to head out on a walk with the boys and am looking forward to lunch with a friend, catching up on some projects this weekend, and exploring the city a bit.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and see ya next week!
