Morning! Today I woke up early with a pep in my step because we have a friend coming into town and I am so ready to finally show her around our area, home arena and have a fun weekend!
Today I am continuing the Friday Favorites series I started ten weeks ago. Whew! Time sure flew. Let’s go ahead and get things started, shall we?
Friday Favorites #10: Week of 11/8
What I’m loving this week…
• pumpkin seeds
Clearly, the pumpkin obsession continues. We still have yet to carve a pumpkin here at the Hesington household. So no, these are not my own roasted seeds.
I do hope to still attempt a batch this season!
• winter boots
The only thing making it easier to transition into this winter weather we have been having is an excuse to break out the winter wardrobe. While in Florida, I just so happened to find this adorable pair of black boots from Charlotte Russe.
My favorite part was the option to turn the top down with the peek-a-boo flannel material.
They retail for $42, but I got them for a steal after buying a pair of maroon pumps. Buy one get one for $10 ya’ll!
• curling wand
I usually curl my hair for home games, but this week was the first time I ever tried a curling wand. Once I got a strategy down, it took half the time and produced a different type of “wavy” curl.
No need to get fancy, either. I picked this Conair wand up at our local grocery store (Meijer) for around $25!
• catching bad edits
Scott has always had a gift for catching bad edits. Whether it’s while watching a television show or movie, he will without fail pause the screen, say “bad edit”, rewind the scene, and see if I can see it too. Half of the time I can’t and tell him he’s just being annoying. 😉
When I saw this article pop up on my news feed last night it made me smile. Totally called #15. Bad edit overload, Mean Girls!
Then I saw this one and couldn’t help but laugh a little. (Mostly at Glen Coco!)
• “healthy” fruit loops
This one was bound to happen sooner or later…
Most of you know by now that I have a adoration for any kind of “healthier version” cereal by Cascadian Farms. Growing up a Fruit Loops lover, I had to give these Fruitful O’s a go. Total win!
• dusting off my old *NSYNC albums
Because, well, after last weekend I just had to… and I acquired even more love for the tracks as a result (if that’s even possible).
• strawberry protein powder
Speaking of fruit (or just transitioning into it from the picture above), I can’t get enough of this Luscious Strawberry Protein Powder this week from Designer Whey.
My latest smoothie concoction included 1 scoop of it (28g), frozen raspberries and blueberries, frozen mango cubes, spinach, fresh strawberries and water for dinner last night. So delicious!
• Yes To skin repair serum
I have been completely obsessed with this Yes To Blueberries skincare line ever since I reviewed it over the summer. I finally ran out of this skin repair serum (used after you wash your face and before you apply moisturizer) and noticed a total difference in how my skin feels without it for a few days.
I made sure to pick up a replacement on my last trip to the store.

Love the boots! I am still on a mission to find some good ones, but in the meantime I am just stealing my mom’s almost everyday 😉 It is great to have the same size as her in these situations!
Heather
I used to do that all the time! Unfortunately, now we are several states away now. But it was great while it lasted!
healthnutjulie
I have those boots too! Love it 🙂 I’m going to send you an email today about trying out for a dance team here in Orlando. I’ve read your posts about it and figure you’re the perfect person to ask! Happy Friday love.
Heather
Oh fun! I love them and have been wearing them every day since the purchase. Yes, email away, friend!

You can totally turn a regular curling iron into a wand. I found a pin from TheBeautyDepartment.com It has worked great for me! I loved your last post on happiness because it’s so true. I read this quote the other day and lol’d: “Sometimes you gotta burn a few bridges to keep the crazies from following.” 🙂
Heather
Hahaha, that’s great! Thanks for the laugh 🙂
Christa @ Sit-ups & Sequins
I love my curling wand too! It gets extra hot and is the only curling iron that actually makes the curls stay in place!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl
LOVE those boots!! And…I remembered to link up this time all on my own!! 😉
Heather

Jess

I love those Cascadian Farm cereals! Such a healthy alternative to the best cereals 😉
Heather
I’m pretty sure I will end up trying them all!
Lisa
You need to try pumpkin seed butter if you love the pumpkin seeds! I’ve been making it for a while now and it’s so dang delicious.
I have that same curling iron as you…but I also have three other ones haha. I have a curling iron addiction. It’s a sad thing.
My Sister has those same boots as you! For some reason I can’t get into that style, I’m more of a boots with heels wearer. But, I totally need a flat pair for Winter I suppose.
Heather
Oh, yum! Well then that explains your perfectly curled and sculpted locks! Your hair always looks gorg!
I never liked this style of boot either, until I moved up to Michigan. Now I want more! 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Okay I -need- a curling wand in my life. I’ve been using either a straightener or regular curling iron to curl my hair, but everyone keeps saying that a wand is so much better. Definitely picking one up the next time I’m in the store.
Heather
Yessss. I’ve only used it twice but I’m in love!
Anna-Marie
I am on the lookout for strawberry protein powder now. Everytime I read your Friday posts my wants list gets longer and longer- pretty soon the husband may ban me from subscribing to you anymore!! 🙂 At least, my list gets longer with HEALTHY stuff- thank you!!
Kaitlyn
