Good Morning! Do you ever have the kind where you wake up way past your alarm… stressed and worried you missed something important? I’ve done it a number of times but can usually pull it off by getting out the door before anybody notices. Today, not so much.
Apparently I slept through my alarm today and according to my husband got up and turned off the second one without any recollection of doing so. I have some serious issues waking up these days, ya’ll!
Anyways, I apologize for the delay this morning, but fear not… here is this week’s installment of Friday Favorites with a #FFavorites link up at the end!
Friday Favorites #11: Week of 11/15
• poof dish sponge + soap holder
I found this adorable dish washing sponge on my latest grocery run at Meijer. I’ve never seen a poof cleaner before!
While we’re at it, I have also been loving this soap holder I purchased at Bath & Body Works months and months ago. The shell adds a little decorative flair to your average kitchen soap and can replace the scent with whatever you’d like from season to season.
Never thought I would be so excited about cleaning products.
• clean throw pillows and blankets
Speaking of cleaning things, I am currently on a crazy kick of cleaning throw pillows and blankets in the house this week. I guess you can say I have been on a mission to get rid of as much cat hair as possible.
I have been nervous about throwing some of them into the washing machine, but figured after two years of having them it’s time. Lucky for me these Pier 1 down pillows didn’t ruin one bit on the extra delicate cycle!
(P.S. You can receive 20% OFF anything in their store by printing off this coupon or using the code SAVE20NOW online through Sunday!)
• Fiber One 80 calories chocolate cereal
I already mentioned this cereal in this week’s WIAW post, but it deserves another shout out. It’s ridiculously delicious and perfect for satisfying my extreme sweet tooth!
I even enjoyed a bowl with light chocolate almond milk for dessert last night. A chocolate fiend I am.
• cherishing the last of the fall colors
With temperatures dropping down to the low thirties this week (yikes!) I am taking in any remaining fall colors I pass on my drive around town. Sadly these trees are becoming more and more bare by the day and that might be breaking my heart a little.
Don’t be a stranger just yet, fall!
• first snow fall of the season
With those low temperatures came our very first snow fall of the season Monday! See what I meant about the trees?
They’re still beautiful and look even more magical with a fresh coat of white snow, which I guess is kind of cool to see. Secretly (or not so secretly) I am keeping my fingers crossed that the next snow fall holds of for another month or so.
• this adorable little snow bunny nugget
I don’t even know if I can’t handle the cuteness on this one.
• surprises in the mail
It is always exciting to receive something you aren’t expecting in the mail. Yesterday I opened this holiday package from Yes To and have been loving their lip balms.
Perfect timing for the cold weather, right?
• this article with tips on how to stay fit during the holidays via Greatist.
(Because new northerners like me need tips on how to have fun outside when it’s snowing.)
• this quote I saw pop up on Tenly Mohlzahn’s instagram account. (Remember when I met her?)
• and then there’s this one
Seriously. Try not to laugh. This is why I love her (besides for the awesome blog she runs!)
• smoothies
No matter how much I complain about the cold weather, I haven’t lost my craving for a cold smoothie snack or meal yet.
(In my smoothie above: fresh strawberries, frozen peaches, spinach, 1 scoop whey protein powder, almond milk.)
Granted, I work from home and enjoy them mostly in the mornings or afternoons, so I am not exactly taking them with me out into the cold. But for now, I am still loving them!
And I think that’s it for now. I don’t want to babble too long without getting to the link up. Here you go, friends!

I actually have the opposite problem with my alarm and always always wake up before it. Seriously, my sleeping issues are bad.
Sounds like it’s getting cold where you live! Thankfully where I’m from we never get snow so it will stay looking like Fall for quite a while:)
But I do wish we got one day of snow. Since it’s kind of fun once in a while.
And surprises in the mail are the best. It’s like second Christmas.
Heather
Man, sometimes I wish I had that problem. Just to have the satisfaction of being able to say “oh, I still have thirty minutes…” but to each their own. It is! I need to get a warmer winter coat ASAP. Enjoy the fall, beautiful!

Love love that cereal! I found blonde roast Starbucks coffee at the store yesterday (which gave me a star AND promises me a free 12 oz coffee if I bring in the bag when it’s gone) and gingerbread creamer, which gave me THE best coffee this morning! I never sleep past my alarm because I’m a morning person and a light sleeper, so once my alarm goes off, I’m up! It’s a blessing and a curse 😉
Heather
I’ve tried that coffee before. For some reason I can’t get into Starbucks plain coffee very much. I’ve always been a Dunkin’ fan. BUT those PSL’s and Peppermint Mocha’s are truly out of this world amazing!
Jess
Love the final quote, hilarous!! 😀 I would love to try that cereal just because I love chocolate! I mean who doesn’t?
I don’t get to experience snow and cold because of this lovely Caribbean weather, but once in a while snowy-like must be cool!
Em @ Love A Latte
Love that quote about never being too old to set another goal. I’m going back to school (again) at 27 this January and I’m super excited! New goal for sure! Have a great weekend 🙂
Heather
I feel ya! It’s nice to get those little reminders every now and again, being the grandma on my dance team and all. Good luck with school, I’m sure you will be amazing!
Ashley @ Power, Love, and Self Discipline
Love the soap dispenser – so cute!!
We had our first snow this week too, ugh! Not looking forward to winter!!
cleaneatingveggiegirl
Even with the colder weather, I am still OBSESSED with my green smoothies…pretty sure I’ll be drinking them all winter long.
Heather
Me too! As long as I’m not taking them with me anywhere… 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
We already lost all our leaves a few weeks ago 🙁 In fact, we’ve had snow for a couple weeks now, and it’s snowing again today. I really wish that fall wasn’t over in the blink of an eye — it’s my favourite season and I want a chance to enjoy it more! That being said, I’m super excited about the upcoming holiday season 😀
Happy Friday!
Heather
I agree! Fall is for sure my favorite. Since it seems to have disappeared, I’m getting an itch to dive right into the holidays and decorate this weekend! That might just help a little. 😉
Emily
Oh man, I have to try that cereal! It looks chocolatey and delicious!
Heather
SO chocolately, so delicious!
