Good morning friends, it’s Friday!
Are there any fun and exciting plans for the next few days on your end?
As soon as I publish this blog post, I’m off to pack and get ready for a weekend trip to Chicago. (Yes, I know… we go there a lot.) Scott and I are making the five hour drive to spend the weekend with friends as a belated birthday present. I’m really looking forward to some time away, and I’m excited to be in Chi-town again. I love bouncing around big cities!
Getting right to the good stuff, let’s move on to this week’s edition of Friday Favorites. Below you will find a collection of things I have been loving lately, and as always, I invite you to share (and link up) some things you have been loving in the comments section!
Friday Favorites #114: Week of 11/6
• (vegan) leather ankle booties
I’ve been looking for a good pair of ankle booties for two fall seasons. I saw these displayed on a mannequin on my latest trip into and couldn’t pass them by.
I loved the unique brown shade of the (vegan) leather and hidden pull-zip zipper on the side. I haven’t broken them in yet, but I can already tell I am going to love dressing them up and down!
• mini candles
How cute are the mini candles at Bath and Body Works?
I’d never really noticed them until one was given to me as a bridal shower gift. I keep it upstairs on my bathroom counter, and it’s the perfect size to light and enjoy while getting ready for something special. The Leaves scent is one of my favorites, and I bet it would be great on a desk or small work space, too. Love!
• travel Aveda products
Speaking of things that come in miniature sizes, I was gifted this set of of Aveda Color Conserve and from a salon I recently visited in Birmingham. (I was offered services for a review and will be sharing more details – and a giveaway for the locals! – soon.)
They used the same set (in bigger bottles, of course) on me in the salon, and I loved how it left my hair feeling silky and smooth. I made sure to pack my travel set with me for the weekend, and I’m looking forward to keeping my hair smelling reminiscent of a salon as long as I can.
• P.F. Chang’s freezer meals
My fellow P.F. Chang’s fanatics are going to love this one!
My friend Missy introduced me to the P.F. Chang’s Home Menu you can find in the freezer section at a grocery store near you. We picked up a few different bags to make over our girls’ weekend in Arizona, and I made another batch of Chicken Fried Rice for dinner the other night.
Scott loved it, so I’m sure it will be a line I will keep stocked in our freezer for when we are in a pinch and hungry for dinner!
• jogger pajamas
Some of you might remember me posting about a new love for polyester pajamas. Well, the obsession continues. I stopped into a Five Below looking for something the other day, and while didn’t find what I was looking for, I did walk out with these.
They’re polyester jogger pajamas. They fit much tighter than the other pair I brought home a few months ago, and I kind of want to go back and buy four more of them. Hey, at $5 a pop, you can’t beat the price! They’re so comfortable it’s almost ridiculous.
• this unusually warm weather
I know I’ve mentioned the weather in a few previous #FFavorites posts, but seriously… it’s been in the mid-70s this week. And it’s November! I’m pretty sure it was snowing around this time last year, so I’m basically a Disney cartoon dancing and singing every time I go outside and feel the warmth of the sun at this point.
It’s supposed to cool off a little this weekend, but nothing compared the cold, snowy temperatures we have experienced at this time over the last couple of years. I’m secretly hoping this warm spell lasts another month or so. (Don’t tell the locals!)

I can’t wait to break in my new boots either! I hope it starts to cool down real soon. And thank you for ideas on how to style my cat as he has decided to not shave this month either. 🙂

Thanks Ashley, we certainly will! Ahh I’m definitely still getting used to it… it’s so short!
I have rad your blog for a long time and really look forward to your posts. I had to comment on ‘warmer temperatures’ as one of you Friday Favorites. I, too, relocated from Florida to the chillier weather (Ohio) and always commiserate with you when you talk about the cold. I’ve had such a hard time adjusting to it! Thank you for your posts! Enjoy this warm weather – I think we have it for another week! Cheers! Amy http://www.twogirlsoneoffice.com

Um, I need to find a 5 Below near me ASAP because those leggings look sooooo comfy!!! The mini candles at BBW are some of my faves! Everything’s cuter when it’s tiny. :p The leaves scent is awesome! Glad you’re getting some warm, sunny fall weather. 🙂
Right?!! It’s a great discount store! And thanks, I’ll take all the warmth and sunshine that I can get!
Hope you have a great time here this weekend in Chicago – sorry that the weather had to become cold again for your trip. We were doing so well here this past week in the 70s but at least its good sweater/boot/scarf weather!
