Good morning, friends! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving if you celebrated yesterday.
Who’s up extra early for some Black Friday shopping? Scott and I have never really gotten into going to aimlessly shop at different stores the day after Thanksgiving, but we have taken advantage of the deals and have purchased a few big items on this day before.
If there’s something we are in the market for or need to replace (like last year’s television in the living room), we’ll scope out what stores have the best deals on what we are looking for and make that one quick trip. It’s worked for us on several items throughout the years!
Whether you are gearing up to get a jump start on your holiday shopping, enjoying a cozy morning at home, or getting ready to head into work (bless you) today, Happy Friday!
Every week, I like to take a look back at what I have been loving lately. It’s a fun way to get ready for the weekend, and I always love seeing your favorites at the bottom of this post, too.
Before I keep rambling, let’s roll into this week’s edition of Friday Favorites!
Friday Favorites #117: Week of 11/27
•Lolë beanie
After walking by the store several times on the way to my barre classes, I finally decided to go into a Lolë store that is located right next to the studio. I found plenty of cute activewear and outerwear, and my friend Alex talked me into walking out with this adorable Cotton Knitwear beanie before we left.
The pompom is removable, but that’s kind of my favorite part. It’s also lined with a fleece material around the inside of the rim. I’ve been wearing it around all week, and I already want to go back for more colors. I’ll be back, Lolë!
• Sanders chocolates
If you are a longtime reader, then you might recall me mentioning Sanders a time or two. We have two of the gourmet chocolate stores near us, which can be both awesome and daunting at the same time. I stopped into the Rochester location over the weekend to get a little something to gift my mom when she arrived for her visit to see us this week.
Of course I had to get a few extra somethings for us too…
I prefer the dark chocolate, and the combination of that and peppermint patties is where it’s at. I picked the dark chocolate sea salt caramels for my mom and came home to an appreciative husband, thanks to the milk chocolate cherry almond torties.
Gosh, it’s all so good!
• eos lip balm (flavor combos)
I’ve never been shy to express my love for eos lip balms. I know, I know… they were all the rage years ago. But, have you seen the flavor combos yet?
Pictured above is vanilla mint, and I’ve also tried coconut milk. I hate that I love lip balm so much, you guys. It’s awesome, and a definite necessity as we gear up for the winter season.
So yes, little things like new flavors (and combos!) of lip balms get me excited.
• Mrs. Meyer’s candles
I guess today is the day I bring up old favorites, because I found an old go-to from the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day line this week that I never blogged about. It’s the same scents you know and love to clean with in a soy-based candle!
I have tried a few of them before (all of which I’ve enjoyed), and I am especially digging the Basil scent. It’s found a home in the center of our dining table, and I can’t help but light it throughout the day. As in all day, every day.
By the way, I found this one at Target and took advantage of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free on any Mrs. Meyer’s products currently going on. Score!
• time with Mom
It’s been so nice to have my mom in town to visit over Thanksgiving!
She likes to make a solo trip for some extra mother/daughter/girl time once a year, and we have been loving taking her around some of our favorite places in the area. We made a trip out to Detroit for America’s Thanksgiving Parade yesterday, and she was such a trooper to deal with our last minute decision to head downtown.
More stories from our time together this week to come!
• giveaway winner
Thank you to all who left sweet comments about my new haircut, and also those who entered the Salon Legato giveaway!
I realized yesterday that I never announced the giveaway for my Detroit readers this week. (Sorry, guys!)
Congratulations to…

Susie @ SuzLyfe
Um, I love that the pom pom is removable, but you know I never would! So glad that your mom was able to come up for Thanksgiving! My mom and bro are in town through the weekend, and I’m honestly struggling a little bit with what to do with them. I know, Chicago has a ton of things to do… but it is raining! And what on God’s green earth does my brother want to do??? Have a great weekend, Heather!

Oh I feel ya there, it’s supposed to rain all day today! We have plans to take her to Frankenmuth, which is mostly outside, too. Ahh. Maybe take them to you favorite restaurants? Also, we saw Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2 last night. That was great! Enjoy some time with your fam, Susie!
Emily @ My Healthyish Life
Those e-cards are hilarious! I’m contemplating going shopping later today, but don’t have anything I really want/need. Might wait until “Small Business Saturday.” Thanks for hosting the link-up! Happy belated Thanksgiving!

I love that beanie! And thanks for the round up of deals… I had a cart full in Amazon waiting for today but panicked yesterday about shipping times and things in my cart changing so I caved and ordered 🙁

Totally feel you on the lip balm addiction! And it’s justifiable because I use all of it – especially in winter 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

Exactly. That’s one thing I never feel bad purchasing. You can never have too much or run out!
Emily Swanson (@Emily11949309)
THat’s an incredible blessing that you were able to have family for Thanksgiving. We have gotten together with family in Oregon for a couple years, but this year we stayed in Colorado and just did Thanksgiving with our family. I think I might go out and brave Black Friday later today. 🙂

Ange @ Cowgirl Runs
I probably have a dozen eos lip balms floating around my house and office. They’re so awesome.
I also love that toque (Canadian for beanie)! I’ll definitely be looking for one for myself.

Right?? Haha, I’m guilty too. Love the toque reference, thanks for sharing!
Ginger Wroot
Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m intrigued by the candle you featured…I’ve never tried a basil-scented candle…does it make the room smell like an Italian meal (you know, with basil pesto and all that)?

Oh no, it’s more like a basil plant! It smells similar to pine trees to me and reminds me of the holidays 🙂

In Friday, I always love to spent time with my friends on shopping, going to theater, or play football.

That hat is absolutely adorable – I need a new one for this winter!
