Good morning! I don’t know about you, but I’m really looking forward to the weekend.
Scott and I have plans to join friends for dinner and a movie after work tonight, and then the rest of the weekend is plan-free. I’m working Saturday morning, but then again, I usually do. Here’s to another couple of relaxing and fun days!
In true Friday fashion, today we are covering the usual Friday Favorites. I always invite you to join in on the party by utilizing the comments and link-up sections below. Happy Friday!
Friday Favorites #124: Week of 1/15
• Anthropologie paper mache animal heads
Scott and I first saw these paper mache animal heads at the Anthropologie in Orlando years ago! Scott’s entire family is made up of hunters, and we’re probably the only ones without animal heads hanging in our home… until now. When we saw these hanging up in a display in the store, he expressed how much he wanted them, and the word eventually got around to his mom. A few years later, we have a set of three!
Right now they have a home on the wall in our basement (which quickly turned into Scott’s man cave), but we’re hoping to display them in a higher traffic area in our next home. Aren’t they adorable?
• San Pellegrino sparkling juice
I’ve really been into sparkling water lately. I never used to be, but I started drinking it about a year ago as a healthier alternative to soda when I felt like I wanted something bubbly and haven’t turned back. I actually bought a six pack of this San Pallegrino sparkling clementine juice thinking it was flavored sparkling water. I wasn’t expecting it to be orange!
After scanning the can (<- ha, sure?), I noticed it was labeled sparking clementine juice. And let me tell you… this stuff is amazing! They have a whole line of sparkling fruit beverages, and I can’t wait to try more. Yum!
• Snoozies slippers
These Snoozies slippers were a Christmas gift (also from Scott’s mom), and I can’t stop wearing them. They’re so incredibly comfortable!
I love the grippy bottoms and fleece lining on the inside. The cute flower accent on the top are just an added bonus. I’m not sure where she purchased them, but you can find similar ones on Amazon, Zappos, at JCPenney, or using this store locator.
I kind of want these with the bows, too. I wear them every day!
• green grapes
Do you like your grapes big or small? Red or green? While I’m a fan of all grapes, I’ve really been digging the smaller, rounder green grapes lately.
I could probably eat half of the bag in one sitting. I don’t, but I could. They’re a refreshing mid-day snack during this cold, gloomy season.
• Dakini 1/4 zip sweater
I have always loved 1/4 zip jackets and sweaters. They’re cozy and fabulous to layer with in the colder months of the year. I received this Dakini sweater as a Christmas present from a sweet client of mine. She said it looked like me, and that it is something I could wear under my puffer vests while I train. She’s absolutely right!
I’ve already worn it a handful of times since she gave it to me, and I want to go find more. The sleeves are made of wool and are so comfy, long, and my style with thumbholes. I finally asked her where she purchased it, and I didn’t expect her to say TJMaxx. Nice work, Maxxinista!
• self-massage and stretching tools
One of my favorite part about introducing a new client to the gym is showing them some of the self-massage and stretching tools available. I’ve previously mentioned my love for lacrosse balls and massage stick rollers to help with knots, and I’ve also been loving this calf stretcher.
You can use resistance bands and yoga straps while you lay on the floor to stretch your legs, too. I always make sure to show clients these along with a handful of stretches for the hamstrings and legs. (You can also use them for assisted pull-ups.) We have a set of these. Stretching is so good for the body!

We moved up to Michigan on the condition that I could get a new winter wardrobe… yeah, not as cute as I pictured it.
All the time…
Seriously. This is me every single day in the winter.
Haha!
Your Turn

Have a great weekend!

Ooh, you just reminded me that I want to get myself a new (larger) massage ball. I’ve been participating in a month-long challenge at my barre studio and I am so sore! And it’s only half way through the month! I feel like everything at Anthro is amazing and adorable, especially their housewares. Someday I’ll make enough money to be able to shop there… 🙂 I hope you have an amazing weekend, Heather! 🙂

Ohhh, a large massage ball would be money. Good idea! I bet you are plenty sore. Haha, I feel the same way about Anthro! Some day… 😉
I am totally not looking forward to going back to Chicago this weekend just in time for the temps to plummet. Why can’t I stay in the warmth and sunshine?? WHHYYYY
I would totally put up paper mache animal heads, if I didn’t think that it would end in divorce. I love Anthro’s tablewares, and I need to go back and get a new mint green latte bowl–I shattered mine 2 weeks ago. It was beyond tragic.
Have a great weekend, Heather!

I would be either! After growing up in Florida and moving to Michigan I just don’t understand. WHY does it have to get so cold? It just doesn’t seem necessary. Right? Enjoy the rest of your vaca!
Cute wardrobe and winter do not mix for me- warmth and comfort before style! I’m visiting Texas next week and I’m interested to see what their winter wardrobe is like- meanwhile I’ll be in my spring clothes. I LOVE those sparkling juices- my hubs and I are doing a dry January and I get tired of drinking water all the time so it’s a great way to make a meal feel fancier!

Definitely! Yes, it’s a great substitute for lots of things… including adult beverages 😉
I have been loving the roller for my back! It really does do wonders for you!

When I get massages, my therapist can always tell when I foam roll and use massagers and when I don’t. Crazy, but awesome!
Those animal heads are the cutest! And thanks for sharing on the slippers – I have an embarassing amount of fuzzy socks but with wood floors, a clumsy pregnant body, and constantly dodging a toddler, they’re not always the safest ahah

I can imagine that can get pretty slippery! Love the grippy bottoms on both socks and slippers – a must for me!
I’ve been trying to take some extra time to stretch lately and it feels so good! My hips and hamstrings always need it.

I’m sure they are thanking you. Have a great weekend, Ellen!
I’m obsessed with grapes!!! I’ve recently these past few months been lovely black grapes!

I like small dark grapes too… yum! Happy weekend!
Oohhh love that sweater! And it has monkey thumbholes!! And green grapes for the win…always!

Thank you, I’ve really been enjoying it!
I was just thinking yesterday what a tiny little thrill I get when I kick all the built up snow and slush from my wheel wells. My husband just hates when I do it in our driveway because he’s in charge of snowblowing/shoveling! 🙂

Isn’t that funny? I HATE driving in snow, so at least that’s something fun I always look forward to about it… lol. Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday! I love the quote about the sock sliding off in the shoe. Cracked me up!

Right? lol. It really does happen to me all the time. To funny!
Hi Heather! That’s cool you even have a basement to hang things like those animal heads hahaha. I’ve never had a basement! Maybe one day! 🙂 Extra space is unheard of in the Bay Area though, even outside the City! As far as your weekend, have a good one, my friend.
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West recently posted…Friday Favorites: Fitness fashion, sweet food and so much more
I hadn’t either before we moved up north… I guess it’s pretty cool, but it gets really cold and really hot! I think I’m ready to trade in the space for a more weather neutral home. Ha! Happy weekend, Ashley!
The smaller the better with grapes for me! And I totally pinned that casserole from SkinnyTaste, too. Looks SO good!
Have a great weekend, Heather!

Okay now I really need to make it. Yum! Happy Weekend, Courtney!
I love your mounts!! What a great idea for a family that doesn’t hunt! My hubby is a HUGE hunter so we have a ton of the real deal going on over here. 🙂 Those slippers look super comfy; the flower on top is adorable!! My mom gave me some similar slippers for Christmas and I can’t take them off. Have a great weekend, Heather!!!
I’ve always wanted to try those drinks! This week I’ve been loving overnight oats, hot yoga, and my Netflix time haha. Hope you have a great weekend Heather!
I love green grapes. I think I’ll need to stop at the store and pick some up after drooling over that picture. One thing I’m loving is a podcast that I just discovered a few days ago called the simply luxurious life. Might not be everyones thing but I am loving it so far.
Those animal heads on the wall are so cute! My boyfriend also comes from a family of hunters and I’m still not sure how I feel about deer heads on the wall haha.

HAH! That winter meme is SO true, especially here in winter wonderland UT! I’m like all bundled up not looking cute at all. Hah.
Have a fun weekend!
