Good morning!
Here’s to the (almost) weekend, amiright? Even though my jobs in the entertainment and fitness industry have never enabled me to experience true “weekends”, I am grateful for the little things and a day that encourages me to take a look back at my week with a smile. Every Friday, I share what I’ve been loving lately with a new round-up of Friday Favorites, and today is no exception.
It’s been a long week, and I’m truly looking forward to a full day off on Sunday. It will probably be my last Sunday off for the next few months, so you better believe that I will be taking advantage of it! Do you have any fun plans on deck?
I always enjoy reading through your faves, too! (Per usual, I invite you to join in on the party in the comments and link-up sections below.) Happy Friday!
Friday Favorites #164: Week of 10/21
• B&BW Aromatherapy line
Have y’all tried the Aromatherapy line from Bath & Body Works? I’ve featured products from it a few times before, but they are worth a second (or fifth) mention. The scents are amazing.
The Eucalyptus Spearmint (stress relief) is basically a spa visit in a bottle, and anything with Lanvender instantly puts my busy brain at ease. Maybe it’s a mental thing, but anything that I’ve tried from this line really does help me to relax.
After seeing that the line was buy one, get one 50% off earlier this month, I hopped on the chance to restock on some of my favorites. I will literally use the Pillow Mist every night, and it’s the very last thing that I do before tucking into bed. Instant unwind, my friends.
• Orangetheory Fitness Conference
Most of you probably already know that I spent last weekend in Miami Beach for the Annual Orangetheory Fitness Conference!
I traveled with my OTF Brooklyn management team and had an fabulous time soaking in everything about the company, taking workouts, learning practices, and hearing about exciting updates that will be unveiled next year.
(Check out the highlights reel! <- You may or may not see a cameo of yours truly standing behind Ellen — the creator of OTF workouts — at the 1:45 mark.)
The conference came at the perfect time, as we gear up for the opening of our third studio at the end of the year. We were treated like rockstars with a luxury hotel stay at Fountaine Bleu (so nice), catered meals, the largest OTF workouts (over 150 people!), team competitions, and a fancy Awards Dinner.
I left the weekend feeling like I got an extra long crash course on OTF and a real fire to inspire my team to make a difference in our community! A huge highlight was also getting to see my friend and former Detroit Pistons Dancers teammate, Abby. She is the Head Trainer of a studio in Michigan, and it was really cool to see her there and share stories about our jobs. #worldscolliding
Hours in the fitness industry may be unconventional (and especially long right now), but the grind has already proven to be well worth it. I’m feeling extra thankful for these people and my job this week!
• quip toothbrushes (& delivery service)
If you’ve been reading the blog for a bit, then it’s probably no surprise to find out that Scott is a sucker for gadgets. He’s totally “that guy” who buys anything that makes your life easier, and in this case, provides a sleeker solution to everyday necessities. Enter quip toothbrushes!
They are set on two minute timers that pulse every thirty seconds in order to ensure that you are brushing the recommended time every time. They come with a neat travel case and are conveniently stored off of the counter and on the wall.
The coolest part about these toothbrushes is the digital service that comes with them. Every three months, you receive fresh heads, supplies, and reminders that reward visiting the dentist on time for a small additional fee. It’s totally worth it. We absolutely love them!
• decorated stoops
I can’t believe that we are already nearing the end of October! This, of course, means that Halloween is just around the corner, and a definite favorite for me this week is seeing people decorate their stoops!
It makes me smile every time I pass by a “front yard” that is decorated with ghosts, goblins, spider webs, and lights. It’s little efforts like this that makes me feel more at home every day, and now I’m looking forward to seeing the holidays up here even more!
• Alex coming to town!
Last, but certainly not least, I’m super thrilled that my best friend from Detroit is coming to visit this weekend! She arrives later tonight, and I am beyond excited to see her and show her a glimpse into our lives in NYC.
We have plans to hang in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and I’ll be sure to share highlights from the weekend soon. In the mean time, you can follow our whereabouts on Snapchat and Instagram!

I love the Bath and Body Works pillow mist. It’s so nice getting into a freshly made bed and with a little scent. And the conference looked so awesome! I enjoy being surrounded by others that are passionate about health and fitness. Have a great weekend!

Hi Patricia! It’s the best. Conferences always get me excited to return home with a fire to share the health and fitness love!
Although I never have a problem falling asleep at night and Lavender pillow spray sounds awesome. That quip toothbrush looks cool! I love that it has a wall holder. Hope you have a great weekend & have fun with Alex.
Bath and body works stuff is my favorite! I love the eucalyptus spearmint one the best. Tried my first OTF class on Wednesday and I loved it!

Those look like really clean pretty toothbrushes, and I love that you got to go to Florida for an amazing conference. IT’s neat that your job includes so much networking and time with friends doing what you all love. 🙂

People don’t take advantage of their stoops in SF, but I would love to see that in Brooklyn. Totally cool. I saw endless photos from the OTF convention (I never went before), and it looks like a sea of orange and fun ahahah! So glad you enjoyed it! Happy Friday!

Yes – I’m also a big fan of the BBW aromatheraphy line.
There’s finally an OTF location opening near me and I’m considering getting my CPT so I can audition to work for them. I LOOOOOVE the workouts!

Hi! The Quip toothbrush looks awesome! Do you have a referral code the service?
Hi Tracey! I actually don’t. I’m just sharing it out of love for the product, but thank you so much for asking!
The eucalyptus spearmint is heaven! I use it as bubble baths, massage oil, candles… it’s the perfect relaxing scent.
It’s great that your friend is coming for a visit. I’m a Texas transfer from Michigan. Have a great time.
Happy Friday! I’m also from Michigan and this weekend is my school’s homecoming (Go Blue!) but alas I’ll be stuck here in DC. I love fall in the midwest but can’t say I miss the winters. Your week sounds amazing – I love getting to meet other fitness enthusiasts. Have a great (and hopefully relaxing) weekend with your friend!
The convention looked like so much fun! Loved seeing all your pics. Have a great weekend!

Your most made me realize that I haven’t see any decorated stoops yet! I’m going to have to find some this weekend because there have to be some fun ones around somewhere near me! PS Those toothbrushes sound really interesting. I’d never think to set a timer for my tooth brushing, but if it were built into the brush, that would work! 🙂
