Hi friends and Happy Friday!
It’s been an interesting week in New York, and a bit of a scary week in the Southeast with Hurricane Irma on the radar. As a native Floridian, I am no stranger to how terrifying hurricane forecasts can be, so just know that so many thoughts and prayers are going towards the southern states right now. <3
One of my friends from Florida is actually visiting New York this weekend, so I’m really looking forward to spending some time with her after work today and all day Saturday. Scott is currently working in Paris (lucky duck!), so I’ll be holding down the fort with the fur kids and enjoying some much-needed girl time with Meggan while he’s away.
In true Friday fashion, today we are covering a new edition of Friday Favorites on the blog today. Here I discuss what I’ve been loving lately, and this one might just include a giveaway as well. I hope this light read can comfort those of you who are worried about the outcome of the weekend, and please, please stay safe out there.

Friday Favorites #182: Week of 9/8
• September Stitch Fix Breakdown
I didn’t get the chance to dedicate a full post to this month’s Stitch Fix delivery, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to at least showcase the pieces here. If you’re new to the concept of Stitch Fix (<- affiliate link), check out some of my previous posts for the details.
September’s fix included:
Laila Jayde Bowie 3/4 Sleeve Dolman Knit Top ($58) // Shiraleah Illinois Square Scarf ($38)

Overall, I liked the ideas of the pieces in my fix, but the majority of it didn’t fit quite right. The shoulder knit top was cute, but it clung a little too tight. I liked the graphic tee, but I wasn’t keen on the slits on the sides and length. The leggings were adorable. I loved the mesh detail and lace up sides, but they also felt snug, and I don’t necessarily need another pair of black leggings right this moment. The grey knit top is super comfortable, but I wasn’t in love with it for $58.
The scarf, however, is my jam. The weather is cooling down just enough to start breaking them out and I can’t wait to wear it soon! With the $20 styling fee deduction, I grabbed it for just $18! Total win!
• strawberry candies
Talk about a flashback to childhood! Please tell me that I’m not the only one obsessed with these strawberry candies.
I totally forgot about them until a member brought them into our studio … not just for our staff, but also for other members as a post-workout treat. The sweet lady’s name is Barbara, and she is the best.
When I asked her where one actually finds these candies, she wouldn’t give up her secret and sold me a bag of them out of her stash for two dollars instead. That totally made my day and put a big smile on my face!
So tell me, does anybody know where to find them besides Amazon? The only answer I have is buried inside grandmothers’ purses. Am I right?
• PSLs
Call me basic, but I just couldn’t wait until the official first day of fall to order a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks.
I’ve always loved them, but I feel like they’re even better this year! Just me?
PSLs are not rumored to be the healthiest for you, so I don’t have them every day, and when I do, I ask to skip the whip cream and substitute skim milk. Even so, I have to admit that I can’t get enough of the seasonal hot beverage paired with the turkey bacon egg white breakfast sandwich every so often. Yum!
• cat backpack
(I actually mentioned this one in a Friday Favorites post before, but that was before I even bought it.) After moving to Brooklyn and getting rid of our cars, it took a while to adjust to running every day errands like grocery shopping, shipping packages, and picking things up for the house.
When we thought about taking the pets to the vets, we weren’t exactly sure of the best way to get them there. I am happy to report that I successfully got Cali to and from the vets and our new Catpack this week!
They have a variety of different styles and versions online, and I preferred one that looked less like a pet carrier and more like a regular backpack. There is a bubble where the cat can look out from, which I thought was awesome. It also came with a replacement screen that is flat. We prefer to use the bubble to give the girls extra room while traveling, and Cali doesn’t seem to mind her commute whatsoever. She might even enjoy getting some fresh air!
We might get a few stares here and there while walking with a cat on our backs, but it definitely beats caring a crate to the side for blocks and blocks. It was a solid purchase that I’d recommend for anyone with a cat or small dog!
• Tervis giveaway
Those who have been following LIL for a bit have probably seen Tervis tumblers and giveaways appear on the blog numerous times. They’ve always been our go-to brand for carrying hot and cold beverages, and one of Scott and I’s friends just so happens to work for the company. He’s always down to offer a set of tumblers as a giveaway for LIL readers, so I thought it would be fun to kick off the football season with a college and NFL themed giveaway!

Big scarves and PSL are what Fall is all about. And with these cooler temperatures it’s definitely time to start Fall early this year. I love Tervis Coffee cups, my husband always loses them, uh. We would love Ohio State and Alabama mugs, our two favorite college teams 🙂

Oh my goodness, that scarf looks so cozy for fall! I have a big fluffy blanket scarf that is somewhat similar, and I adore it! I’m trying hard to wait until “actual” fall to go crazy on the pumpkin flavored stuff, but it’s hard! I have always liked Tervis tumblers, but have never bought one for myself. If I won, I’d get the Patriots one for myself, and give a Cowboys one to my friend Aimee, so we can have fun cups to drink out of when watching games together 🙂

Redskins fan over here! I also love random candies that other people never buy, haha. Necco wafers are the best! That catpack is amazing. My cats despise the carrier and getting them places is the worst, so I need this. I’m also one of those people who really wants to try out those cat leashes lol.

The two teams I would pick for the tumblers would have to be Philadelphia Eagles to represent my hometown and Univ. Of MI to represent where I am currently living.
