Good Morning and Happy (almost) Weekend!
This week seemed to pass by slower than most. But the days, on the other hand, just keep flashing by. I feel like I should be getting way more accomplished in the hours of the afternoon and evening, but no matter what I try to do it’s 10 p.m. or later every time I look.
Or maybe is just seems that way because the sun is setting unbelievably late. I expect it to be dark on my way home from Fitness Pilates class on Thursdays, and the last month it has still been somewhat light out at 9 p.m. It’s completely throwing me off my game.
Anyways, enough Deep Thoughts… it’s time to get on to today’s smiles.
The following Friday Favorites are things that I have been loving this week. As always, I invite you to play along and share some of yours in the comments and link-up sections!
Friday Favorites #41: Week of 6/13
• hard-boiled eggs
I have been in a very egg-y mood lately. I almost forgot about hard-boiled eggs until the cafe at our gym reminded me.
Since buying them to accompany a smoothie a couple of weeks ago, I have been absolutely hooked and now I crave them.
Last night was the first time I have actually boiled a dozen for myself since my Easter egg dying days growing up. They seemed to have come out right, but when I perfect the heat temperatures and times to get the perfect egg, I’ll be sure to share!
Speaking of eggs, Caitlin wrote a great article about how to decode their many different labels. And she’s totally right… it’s super confusing.
• 41 Life-Saving Beauty Hacks via Buzzfeed.
I already do Numbers 2 and 9 (great tips!), but the majority of them are all new to me. Um, Number 25. Yesss.
• quick + sweaty summer runs with Roadie
It took a while, (… or almost a year) but I’m starting to remember what it’s like to run out in the heat again. Pretty much something like this.
Yesterday I had twenty minutes of free time before heading out, so I grabbed Roadie and declared it a “quick + sweaty” run on our short loop around the neighborhood. Even though temperatures were climbing and I almost went blind from the sun, I still enjoyed getting out there with my number one furry running mate.
Hey, two miles is better than no miles right?
• external hard drive for photos
I have been meaning to copy the photos off of my old laptop onto a scan disk (or five) forever.
I went to purchase a handful of them with the plan of labeling each one with the coordinating year the pictures were from for safe keeping, but then figured out that one place of storage is better than several.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of purchasing a portable external hard drive years ago!
I picked this Seagate Slim 500GB Portable Drive up at Best Buy for just around $60 yesterday. So far, it’s done a great job of holding all of my photos from years 2007 – present.
My computer seems to be running faster with all the extra space, and it’s comforting to know they’re all in a safe place in case something were to crash! (I’ll accept shout outs and Starbucks gift cards as payments for this idea, friends. Kidding. #notreally)
• Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy
Last week I shared a little of my experience dancing on-stage with Big & Rich during the Country Hoedown!
Yesterday, the Pistons released a fun Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy video with snippets of our performance at the concert you can check out here!
• Barnes and Noble quiet time
I found myself popping into Barnes and Noble a handful of times this week.
One trip was to purchase books, but the others were just to grab some quiet time outside of my house to help me focus on studying.
… or checking and catching up on blog comments and Instagram.
Whichever.
• Brady Bands Giveaway!
Just kind of snuck that one in there, huh?
Remember the Brady Bands I featured in last week’s favorites? I’m still loving them, and apparently a lot of you are too.
I reached out to my contact at the company and she was more than on board to offer two bands to one lucky Housewife Glamour reader!
She asked which ones I would like to choose for the giveaway and I suggested to leave the choice up to you.
Look over the website and choose between two non-slip headbands, or one non-slip and one dressy headband. I’ve been decorated with both ever since I received them!
To Enter:
Leave a comment on this post sharing what kind of band you would like to win and enter at least one additional entry into Rafflecopter for it to count!
You have until Midnight Monday, June 16th E.S.T. to enter the giveaway. Winners will be announced first thing Tuesday morning.
***ALSO***
There’s another giveaway currently going on on, just in case you missed it.
Be sure to enter both by Monday if you like free skincare and hair accessories! 😉

I instantly giggled at the beginning of this post because you mentioned how you felt the week went so and I totally mentioned today how I felt the week flew by! LOL. I love that picture of you and Roadie! I miss that pup! Awesome news about the external hard drive! You’ll find it really helpful I know:)) Happy Friday girly!!

I would choose one of the non-slip bands and one of the dressy ones. They are so cute! Also, great idea going to study at Barnes and Noble. There is one near my work and I sometimes go there on my lunch break to get a coffee and walk around/relax when I need to get out of the office.

I have issue with backing up but I’m so glad that I did this April–not only did my phone get stolen but then with my new phone I accidentally deleted ALL of my pics from my computer…. FAIL ON SO MANY LEVELS. So yeah, back it up back it up!
How’s your studying going? Making progress? Hope you’re still enjoying it!

Hope your studying is going well!
I love the To Infinity Headband to go a little dressier and any of the Crazy for Chevron colors for just working out. It’s so nice to know that some of your money goes to a good cause when you buy from a company like them. 🙂

Night with Gatsby or sweet summertime!
Whitney
I love hard boiled eggs but I used to hate making them because I never knew how long to boil them. Recently, I learned a tip that works well pretty consistently – use a muffin tin and put an egg in each hole (or however many eggs you want), then bake them in the oven at 325 degrees for 30 min. Easy peasy!
Jen Lyle
They are all so cute! And I really like the non slip ones… And the chevron…. Too many fun choices!
