Good morning, friends! Happy Friday!
This week definitely feels like winter in Michigan. I am well aware that it is not technically winter for another couple of weeks… but I just can’t help it.
Our Christmas tree is up and and seeing the lights twinkle at night just seems like winter to me. We won’t even go into the dropping temperatures and snowfall already. Snowflake graphics are one hundred percent warranted!
Getting right to why you clicked over today, let’s move on to this week’s edition of Friday Favorites. Every week I invite you to share things you have been loving too at the bottom using the comments section and link up tool. Also, keep an eye out for the Winter #FFavorites button code below!
Friday Favorites #66: Week of 12/5
(Holiday Edition)
• holiday scented candles
Well this isn’t surprising. Kicking things off is two of my new favorite holiday scents from Bath & Body Works.
Merry Mistletoe (for Christmas) and Black Tie (for New Years)
I got these two for $20 the last time I was in the store, but it looks like their 3-wick candles are now 2 for $22, even better! The Merry Mistletoe smells like a Christmas tree and I’m going to try my best to save the Black Tie for New Years Eve. It smells like an updated Flannel scent from the fall. So fancy!
• Christmas decorations
I am truly surprised that I waited this long to break out the tree and decorate our house for Christmas. ‘Tis the season!
There really is nothing like getting all of the holiday bins out and sprinkling festive lights and sparkling things all over the house.
Candy Cane Trees via Stein Mart (3 years ago!)
Stockings, initial pins and stocking hangers via (3 years ago!)
You guessed it… three years ago, Scott and I stocked up on our Christmas decorations. There are still some things I haven’t finished putting up, but we bought the majority of our decorations at least 60% off the day after Christmas over the past few years. We even got our tree for under $50 the day after from K-Mart two years ago! #christmasonabudget
We have a few new additions to our tree this year including this hand painted ornament souvenir from our trip to Paris over Christmas last year.
Another favorite would be this gem my Aunt found and gifted me!
Our main tree in the living room is very bright and colorful, and my mini tree in my office is white with my glass dancer ornaments. I love having a tree plugged in next to my desk when I’m down in the basement!
• seasonal Mrs. Meyers scents
I have been all over soaps and sprays since I discovered the line years ago. I saw their display of seasonal scents this week at Meijer and couldn’t pass it by. I have a serious weakness, y’all.
I didn’t pick up the Cranberry scent, but I’m sure that smells wonderful too!
• 18 LOL-worthy Tops For All Your Healthy Friends via POPSUGAR
So great. Most of these would fit in nicely on the Fitness Goodies gift guide!
• Scott’s brisket chili
Scott made his famous brisket chili last night for a dinner party and we didn’t have any leftovers. I barely stopped eating it long enough to get a photo!
It’s a process to make, but totally worth it every time. If you’re keen on healthy chili with a kick… you need to give this one a try. He made it for Thanksgiving two years ago, and it would be great option for a holiday dinner party.
We enjoyed this batch with a side of cornbread, and I topped my bowl off with a nice warm slice right after I took this photo!
• dog scarves
I saw these while shopping with my mom last week, and it took everything in me not to get one. Aren’t they the cutest?
I might just have to order one online for Mr. Roadie’s Christmas present. It’s cold enough for him to wear it, that’s for sure!

The most talented snowman on the block!
Don’t act like you didn’t just act out the scene in your head…
Buddy (and smiling)’s my favorite.

I was in Bath & Body Works this weekend with my mom and they basically paid us to shop there with all the coupons my mom had. My mom got so many stocking stuffers for only $40. My favorite scent there is the Winter Candy Apple.
Thanks for hosting Friday Favorites!
I definitely racked up in B&BW on Black Friday! Some for me, but mostly for Christmas presents. Couldn’t pass up the great deals! Bonus when you have coupons!
Your tree is beautiful! I am seriously SO excited to get home so I can decorate and help get out tree up!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy decorating when you get home 🙂
That snowman is fantastic. I am loving the spruce and mulled cider scented candles right now, too. we are seriously lighting one every night!
Check Meowt. OMGOMG hilarious! Have a great weekend!
Haha, right? I love him. I also love that tank! I want it 😉
Love all of your holiday decorations! That is the cutest ornament ever “Born to Blog” – where did your aunt find that it? I love all things Mrs Meyers Cleaning. I bought a few of their candles recently too. Have a great weekend!
Thank you! I’m waiting to hear back about the ornament, I know I love it too. 🙂 Mrs. Meyers cleaning stuff smells SO good!
I LOVE the Paris and Blogger ornaments! We got our daughter an eiffel tower ornament from Anthropologie this year- I can’t wait for her to open it! She is obsessed with Europe. I need to check out the new scents at Bath and Body Works..love that place!
I love Anthro ornamnets! Actually… I love everything in that store. <3
Yea so do I. My wallet, however, does not. 😉
Love all your decorations girl! I can’t wait to get mine out this weekend! I’m just hoping the baby doesn’t pull down the tree
Thank you! Yes, I can imagine decorating with a baby can be challenging. Good Luck <3
I love all your holiday decorations! Too cute!
Thank you! They are generally the same every year, lol. But I love them 🙂
The “Born to Blog” ornament is just too cute! I also have a smaller tree in my room on my nightstand. When I wake up it is the first thing I see, it reminds me that it is Christmas and It makes me ecstatic!!!! 🙂 Those T-shirts are so funny!
Have a great weekend!
I love having trees in my bedroom! I almost put another one up, but think I’ll stick to the two and then the two mini ones (you’ll probably see those next week) for now!
Your Christmas tree looks gorgeous, nicely done! We move into our new house next week and I can’t wait t put up Christmas decorations!!
Thank you! Aw, have so much fun!
I’m going to have to keep in mind the after Christmas Christmas decoration sales for next year! I will be moving out with My Boyfriend next year, and we decided that we want to take a year to focus on our careers, and not take off a lot of time to travel home. So I’m definitely going to want those decorations up! And yay for candles!! I love them so much, its ridiculous haha.
Yes, you will find so much for so cheap! After-day sales are always the best way to go. Scott and I often do the same thing with Halloween costumes!
Your holiday decorations are so cute! I need a few more up, I think, esp the stockings!
Thank you! Even though we don’t really use the stockings, they are nice to have up 🙂
Happy Friday! Your Christmas decorations look great. Your dance tree is so cute. Loving those dog scarfs! Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much! I love my dance tree. I’ve collected quite a few ballerinas over the years!
Hi Heather! Happy Friday to you! Thanks for hosting this link-up, as always. I’m so trying to get in the Christmas spirit, but we’re not doing any decor this year. We got rid of all of it when we moved into a smaller apartment, and will be away for a whole week around Christmas. It’s so sad. But I’m definitely thinking that buying some decor after Christmas is the way to go, if only we had a place to put it. And by the way, LOVED your FAQ post yesterday, but my comment would post for some reason. I love to hear about dancing. Can’t wait to see more of that in the future. And best of luck with the new training gig. Have an awesome weekend, lady. 🙂
Hi Ashley, Happy Friday! Oh no, sorry to hear you couldn’t comment yesterday. Thank you for reading the post! I totally understand why you wouldn’t really want to put in the effort to decorate. We barely put up a tree last year because we were gone the week of Christmas. I bet it gets tricky to find a place for all the storage! Good luck with the decorations for next year, if you decide to go that route! <3
The “Born to Blog” ornament is so cute! And those shirts were cracking me up! hahaha Also, I’m going to have to try to make this chili you’ve been raving about! It looks delicious!
Thank you! I know, the Check Meowt is the best <3
Happy Friday, indeed! I love that you do Friday Favorites each week. I felt surrounded by more than the normal amount of negativity this week, so I needed a day to reflect on the POSITIVE.
Also, I love your fuzzy stockings! I actually splurged on a pair of faux-fur stockings last year for my husband and I, hah!
Aw, thank you so much for clicking over to them! I started doing Friday Favorites consistently 66 weeks ago, but had done several similar posts – “Glamour Randoms” – before. I loved putting them together so much, that I made it a weekly thing and the idea has become so popular in the blog world that it only made sense to have a link up. Happy Friday! <3
Love the Bath & Body Works Christmas candles.. I need to go pick some up asap! I’m so happy to see holiday themed everything on your blog, I’m not alone in my Christmas obsession lol. 🙂
Oh no… not at all, sister. 😉
Ahh I absolutely love chili! Funny thing though I don’t eat red meat haha I wonder if this would work with turkey cutlets or something! It sure does sound good right now!
I don’t usually either! Scott uses a lean brisket (kind of pricey) in his, so I’ll eat that. You could probably substitute pulled chicken or ground turkey! 🙂
I really wish I would not have seen the 3-wick candle deal! I stocked up when they had their buy 3 get 3 free deal on Black Friday!
Haha, so did I! I have a problem.
I’m loving all things Christmas these days too! All the holiday scents are the best! I’m all about good bargains. We’ve traded out some of the hand-me-down Christmas decor we had when we were first married to some newer stuff this year. It’s minimal, but I hope to stock up on more stuff after Christmas to take advantage of the sales for next year!
Nice! Yes, it’s a slow process. It probably took Scott and I about 3 years to collect what we now put out every year. We could still do so much more!
That blogging ornament is SO cute!! I love that!
Thanks! I just found out it’s from Ace Hardare of all places!
I love that Born to Blog ornament! So cute! And you just reminded me that I need to put up our stockings!
When we lived in the states we had the exact same Candy Cane trees. I loved them! “Great minds think alike” http://www.eatallovertheworld.weebly.com
Oh fun!! 🙂
Mmmm I want to smell that Black Tie scent! Great decorations!

Thanks! I can’t wait to light that one!
