Good morning! Sorry I didn’t have this up at the crack of dawn for the early bird link-up friends. Scott and I have been enjoying our date night on Thursdays over the past few weeks, which makes getting up earlier to write Friday Favorites a little bit harder.
I’ll be sure to share all about our trip to Detroit after the weekend. For now, there are some favorites to get to!
What have you been loving this week? Every Friday, I share products, articles, funnies, and favorites that made me smile and invite you to do the same by using the comments section and link up tool below!
Friday Favorites #68: Week of 12/19
• wrapped presents under the tree
One thing that I miss around the holidays (besides being around friends and family from home) is having presents displayed under our Christmas tree.
The majority of our presents for loved ones are now sent through the mail, so a part of me misses having the collection of wrapped goodies around to admire until Christmas Eve or Day. Is that weird?
Oh well. I still get joy out of wrapping and sending them (with flatter bows).
• UA See Me Go Running Gloves
In need of a slim, yet warm glove for running the (chilly!) Turkey Trot last month, I found this pair of Under Armour texting running gloves at a nearby sports goods store the day before. I love them.
They have an inner coating to help absorb body heat, but are still my lightest pair of warm texting running gloves yet.
• How to Run Hills via Run Eat Repeat
Great reminders!
• Panera You Pick Two
Are there any other Panera Bread fanatics out there? I know, I mention the cafe a lot. I swear, they’re not paying me to! I probably frequent a location around once a week and rarely get anything but the You Pick Two option.
Even split into half portions, they offer plenty of the menu item, and I love the variety. Last time, I ordered the Fuji Apple Chicken salad (my fav) with the garden vegetable soup. So yummy!
• digital coin counting money jar
Scott brought this digital coin counting money jar from The Sharper Image home a couple weeks ago.
I already had a spot to store loose change in the house, but I have to admit that it’s been nice knowing exactly how much our change adds up to.
I’m not sure where he got it from since I can’t find it on The Sharper Image’s website (maybe it’s an older product?), but you can find them for just under $25.
• dark nail polish
I don’t always wear nail polish (I’m trying to get back into doing my own nails again, and often)… but when I do, it’s been dark lately.
& O.P.I. Yoga-Ta Get This Blue
O.P.I. and Essie have been my go-to polish brands for years. Their punny names and shades are the best!
• Meghan Trainor’s performance on The Voice. Adorable. (Love her!)
• pumpkin spice hummus
Umm… have any of you tried this Cedar’s Pumpkin Spice hommus?
That’s right, I said pumpkin spice.
At first, I wasn’t sure I would like it. Obviously, I have a special appreciation for anything pumpkin, but I picked this tub up from my local grocery store (Meijer?) out of pure curiosity last week.
You guys. It was gone in two days. It’s ridiculously good! I need more.

• hands-free jogging leash & giveaway
Surprise… today’s favorites post is closing with a giveaway!
About a month ago, I received this Hands Free Hipster Jogging Leash.
I explained to my contact that Roadie is not exactly what you would call a “tame” jogger, but I thought that a lot of you could benefit from the product, so I agreed to feature it and test it out by walking him with it.
Thanks to his frequent darting and stopping skills, I don’t trust him enough to actually go running with him hands-free (yet). We did, however, enjoy a couple of hands-free walks this week.
(Like my personal training/ninja outfit?)
It was comfortable and adjustable enough to fit most waistlines. I also appreciated the pouch on the back to store personal items like a phone, keys, or even disposable doggie bags.
I liked that the leash felt strong (I was worried about that), and put the just-in-case handle to good use when he saw something that peaked his interest.
Like I mentioned above, I don’t exactly trust Roadie enough to take him for a hands-free run quite yet, but maybe one day we will get there. Every time I go running with him, I see very well behaved dogs on a leash and think this giveaway would be perfect for them. Would any of you like to give this hands-free jogging leash a try?

Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment
So nice! I would gift the giveaway to my sister who has a Border Collie. 🙂 There is nothing like Christmas gifts under the tree to help it feel more like Christmas. We shipped a lot of ours back to NJ this year and it’s not really the same. Happy Friday!
Heather
Aw, I love border collies. I bet you totally understand the gifts under the tree feeling then! Happy Friday!
Janelle
I have a lab/Springer spaniel mix. He’s so sweet. He loves attention and is pretty good on a leash, particularly when I do take him running. When we’re walking, he likes to stop ALL the time and sniff everything. I haven’t taken him running in awhile, and I think he misses it – he’ll move like he wants to run, but I haven’t had the energy to run with him!
Heather
Aw, he sounds so cute! I know Roadie misses running in the winter. We get out there every once in a while during a warm spell, but for the most part have to resort to short walks. It’s just too cold!
Erica { EricaDHouse.com }
One of my happiest times of year is when Panera brings their Autumn squash soup back!
Heather
That soup is amazing!!
Lake Shore Runner
Oh my gosh I need to find that Pumpkin Spice Hummus 🙂 Can’t wait to hear about your trip to Detroit 🙂 Happy Friday!
Heather
Yes, you do! Thanks, you too!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Presents under the tree is the best! I never wear polish on my fingers, but I ALWAYS have to have it on my toes! I am loving this dark red OPI color right now!
Heather
I’ve also been loving dark reds and maroons this year. Happy Friday!
Kelly Runs for Food
I definitely share your love of Panera! There’s one on the campus where I work so I’ve been known to go there for breakfast and lunch in the same day.
Heather
Ahh, Panera breakfast is really, really good!
chareatsgreens
Nia’s sitting right next to me right now and she was like, “HUMMUS!” when she saw the picture come up, haha. So, I think that means I definitely need to try it out!!
Heather
Ha! That’s awesome she knows exactly what hummus is. I didn’t even try it until college. Boy, was I missing out!
April V
This would be for my aunt who has a Ridgeback(?) that looks JUST LIKE Roadie!! (except his name is Toby!) 🙂
Sierra&Faith Winks and Eyerolls
Happy Friday! Definitely love Panera! We actually ordered it online this week which made picking it up on lunch so much easier. Their chicken noddle soup is so fresh! Thank you for the giveaway! We both have dogs now…Sierra has a Golden Retriever and Faith has a Pitbull/Shar Pei mix. I guess we can be nice and share the leash if we win 🙂 Have a great weekend xo

Shop, shop and thea GPS system, and anti inflammatory medicine to make it safe and legal costs and financial ruin. In my opinion to choose to drive. Since I am hoping for some conjugal pleasure tonight, I will give some of these a try and let you know how it works out for me. That way if I don’t come, I can blame it on you. Really, it’s a win-win situation, so thanks for that.

i would give the least to my friend jenna, she has two sweet pups!
fitgirlprettyworld
Aww this looks fun. My dog Paisley (2 year old lab) is a little. Rash on jogs but could definitely do hands free walks like yours! How fun!
kaitlin @4loveofcarrots
I have a mut, we adopted him 3 yrs ago! I would love to win this so I can run with him. He is a pain to run with now because he pulls!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Hi Heather! Happy Friday! That’s cute you guys have a date night during the week, I guess that is necessary with the weird game schedules of course. I have NEVER seen pumpkin hummus and must try that soon. And I’m all about the dark nails right now, currently sporting a maroon color I had done this week. Love it!
Jess
We have two boxers and also foster a third from the Boxer Rescue in our city. I love the idea of this hands free leash!
SuzLyfe
Those memes are terrifyingly true…
Panera You pick2 is my jam!! I always get a soup and salad–usually Thai Chicken and either the chicken noodle or the french onion. After my marathon I got the Turkey cranberry flatbread and the chicken noodle–gotta replenish those electrolytes!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
I’ve been digging the dark nail polishes lately too! I totally go in phases with painting my nails. I’m usually better at it around the holidays and during the summer months for some reason?
To enter the giveaway… We have two labs! Would love to try this leash out!
Tanya S.
My Beagle Molly would love this! Ok, I would probably love it more.. but I hate holding on to the leash while running!
Also, I love your wrapping paper! 🙂
Elsie @ Sharing Healthiness
I have been loving your holiday playlist!! Up beat Christmas songs are just so good! I need that jar! There is nothing more that annoys me more than having spare cash lying around everywhere….I wonder does it subtract from the total when you take money out? Have a great weekend! xx
Ailey
I have an Australian shepherd and she loves to go on runs. Right now I’ve just been tying the leash around my waist but this would be so much better!
Annette Perkins (@FitnessPerks)
No dog here, but love cute nail polish! I’m not a huge fan of super dark, unless it’s on my toes. But I love sparkly!
emma
LOVE that snow image of north/south!! I’m in upstate NY and we always laugh when clients south of us complain about bad snow days with a few inches of snow while it’s a wintery disaster outside our office and we make it to/from work without a blink.
Jen in TX
I have a Mastiff puppy. Eight months old and already over 100 pounds! By the way, thank you for pointing out the UA gloves. I’m about to buy a pair. And I love the north/south funny. So true–we’re wimps here in Texas when it comes to cold.
Heather
oh my goodness, Mastiffs are SO awesome! Scott calls them horses, which is kind of accurate. I bet your puppy is absolutely adorable!
Leslie @ Life Begins at 30?
I run with my lab fairly often. Having hands free would be fantastic!!!
Angela
Have a Michigan Cockapoo that would love this!
Courtney
Fellow Panera fanatic here! 😉
Heather
Just might have to go back this weekend and get another YP2 😉
Hilary
Pumpkin spice hummus does sound strange but I bet I sure would love It too! I Am for sure on the hunt for it !
Michelle
I have a rescued mutt:) We think he is a pointer, pit bull, lab mix aka he’s huge, full of life and energy. I love taking him on runs (I think he loves it 25709257x more than I do), and this hands free leash would be AMAZING!
bsprual2011
The north v.s south thing is so hilarious! I just recently moved back down to Texas from Ohio and everyone here is saying it’s freezing and I’m like, “Dude…this is shorts weather up north!” hahah Happy Holidays!
Tricia Johnson
I have a shih tzu puppy named Bella!
Christina @ The Beautiful Balance
I’m going to be obsessing over that pumpkin hummus until I find it! Seriously, hands-free leashes are the best! My pup loves it and she stays right by my side. We trained her to use it by just using it to just walk her and then worked up to running.
Heather
Wow, that’s very encouraging to hear 🙂
May
Our aunt has a labrador which we would love to give this gift to. 🙂
Lauren
I have a yellow lab, and would love to try this running with him!
Running for Berries
I dog watch a yellow lab a lot who I run with, my boyfriends family has a jack russel and I am getting a husky in a few months!
Becky @ Olives n Wine
I have a black lab and don’t think I would trust him hands free but it would be fun to try (when I’m not pregnant anymore, ha!) 🙂
Amy@ SouthernMiles
We just got a 1 year old American Foxhound named Elle. She is a 70lb “lap dog”. She IS NOT good on the lease but we are working on it. She will cut you of and trip you with the lease haha
Heather
Aw, huge lap dogs that think they are tiny are the best <3
Kaylin@Enticinghealthyeating
No joke, I am going to Panera after work today because I’ve had that You Pick Two on my mind for dinner. And the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad is one of my favorites I pretty much always get! I like that with the half roasted turkey BLT. And I’ve been needing some warmer gloves for my hands because I just found out I have Raynaud’ s disease so I have to be sure to keep my hands warm. Looking into those UA Gloves! Have a great weekend Heather!
Heather
oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! Hopefully a nice set of warm gloves will help. Enjoy Panera! 🙂
cleaneatingveggiegirl
Pumpkin hummus? That sounds killer! Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any in my area 🙁
Pilar Murillo
I have a pit-bull/ lab mix! Her name is Kaya and she is super sweet and playful. I have considered getting a fanny pack so that I don’t have to hold a bunch of stuff in my hands but this belt would be awesome!
Tonya
We really aren’t sure what our doggy Chance is, but our best guess is chihuaha/daschund. Who knows, but he’s the perfect mix for us and lives walks, so this would be perfect!
EmilyAnne
I love the leash idea. That would be great with my lab. Awesome idea. http://www.eatallovertheworld.weebly.com
Allison T.
LOVE the “I’m sorry for what I said when it was winter” meme. Hilarious and so true. My running buddy has a lab/husky mix. When we run now, she loops the leash around her waist, but the belt with the little pouch would be awesome to keep all the doggy bags and keys in.
Kristen L.
I have an American Eskimo named Stanley. He loves to run so this would be great! In the winter, he can run up to 6 miles, which is a lot for a dog who is only 27 pounds!
Erica
My husband and I plan to get a lab puppy after the new year. We are both runners so I see a lot of use for the leash in our future 🙂
Amanda @ Diary of a Semi-Health Nut
Those gloves are absolutely adorable!! It’s essential to have gloves that can text these days! I actually found a bunch at Target super cheap in a zillion colors! 🙂
Have a Happy Christmas! 🙂
Keri
to my mom, she has a yorkie!
Kristen
I am dog free but my parents have a schitzu.
Liv @ Healthy Liv
Ooh, I love your coin jar! That’d motivate me to save change more so I could see it all add up 🙂
I like the idea of the hands-free leash, but it’d never work with my dog. She’s a crazy walker, haha!
Sarah N.
I’d love to win this dog leash…our pup is just getting old enough to run with us. This would be great to use.
Sarah
We have a German Shorthair Pointer who loves to run, this could either work very well for us or I’d be hands free ice skating in the winter.
Ros Emely
I love Panera bread! And my hubby bought a digital coin counter for our daughter and she loves it. I think is cool too.
Laura
I have a shih tzu mix, he can’t run super far but loves to go on walks and this would be awesome 🙂
Bri
I have a beagle so not the best jogger. 😉
Heather
Aw, I bet he/she is cute!
jillconyers
I really really need new running gloves that actually keep my hands warm!
Heather
They really do make such a difference in the enjoyment level of running outside 😉
kristenl
I have a 11 month old Chocolate lab and taking him on my runs is perfect because it actually tires him out! Unfortunately(Fortunately?) I think I can consider it an upper body workout as well with all his pulling. I would LOVE to have one of these!
emily
i have a yellow lab mix who loves to run! this would be perfect for our outings and race training.
