Happy Friday! How was your week? I’m still wondering how we got to Friday so fast! Or… how about March? Yeah, time is certainly doing it’s thing.
Scott and I have a fun-filled weekend on the horizon with his nephew coming into town, and we are looking forward to showing him some of our favorite spots in Detroit! I’ll be sure to share the highlights.
All right, it’s time for another edition of Friday Favorites! I enjoy seeing what you have been loving too, so please feel free to play along and join in on the comments section and link-up at the bottom!
Friday Favorites #79: Week of 3/6
• chia kombucha
I remember trying kombucha about a year ago and really liked it.
There are numerous health benefits of drinking it including helping with digestion as well as providing nutrients for natural energy. I featured a different version earlier this week, and after trying the version with chia seeds in it, I have to say that I like it a lot better!
Scott wasn’t a fan of the chia seeds, but I loved them. Both the Enlightened Synergy raspberry and grape chia flavors were fantastic, and I will definitely be on the lookout for more when they go on sale. (They usually run about $3+ a bottle!)
• running in the snow with Roadie
Although it’s been sunny this week, it’s been pretty flipping cold… except for Monday.
Monday was beautiful!
I had a break in my afternoon, so I took advantage of the “warm” and sunny weather in the 30s. I hooked Roadie up on his leash for a run and took him for a 3.5 mile loop around the neighborhood. He was so excited!
We hopped on the trail for a hot minute, but spent most of our time on the sidewalks. We found breaks in the snow, but there were certainly tricky and slippery parts to navigate through.
As soon as I starting getting my hopes up for a warm front, it dropped back down to the teens the next day and has been cold ever since. The good news, however, is that it is supposed to get back up to the 30s and even 40s this weekend. Hallelujah!
• AmaZing Grass Green SuperFood Energy Bars
Have you guys ever seen AmaZing Grass bars? I’m not sure where you can get them besides specialty health food stores or online.
A friend of mine left me one to try and thought I would get a kick out of the green center!
It may look a little questionable, but it was really good! I love that the bars are made with whole foods and are also Non-GMO, vegan, and gluten-free. Yum!
• Panera broth bowls
I saw the new broth bowls being advertised at Panera a while back and finally tried one last night. I was a little disappointed to only see two flavors available, but the Soba Noodle Bowl with Chicken was pretty tasty!
Scott and I ordered the same bowl and will both be ordering them again. So good!
• meyer lemons
I’m not exactly sure what to do with these bad boys, but I have a fresh batch of meyer lemons straight from a friend’s house in California if any of you have ideas.
The obvious answer here is lemonade, but I don’t know. The snow avalanche in our front yard just doesn’t scream summer to me. I’ll probably end up slicing them and making a couple batches of fruit infused water. That sounds good to me!

All about my favorite morning treat…
It’s not coffee, it’s princess juice.
(Thanks for the laugh, Alex!)
Mug thug fo life, yo.
Your Turn

Have a great weekend!

Hi Heather! Happy Friday! It will be very fun to show around your visitor, enjoy that! Always a good excuse to eat every meal out, right? And yes, I’ve had those green bars before and they are so good. Enjoy your weekend!!
Haha, exactly!! Oh good, I’m glad to hear that the green color doesn’t bother you. I was a little apprehensive at first, but it really doesn’t taste “grassy” at all! Happy Friday!
I tried the same Soba Noodle bowl and liked it! I do wish there were some veggies added in. And Meyer Lemons are the best! I use them in everything from water to marinades and be sure to use the zest. Meyer lemons have the most delicious taste.
I was thinking about lemon zest too! I’m hoping to be home long enough to be able to do something fun with them. Thanks!
Don’t judge but I still have never had kombucha – I need to get on that. Happy Friday!
I was very late to the train too… people usually love or hate it! Have a great weekend!
I love sunny winter days like that! I was just at panera last night too:) I got my usual broccoli soup and baguette but that bowl looks good! I’ll have to try it! Have fun this weekend!!
Ohhh that broccoli soup… SO GOOD! You too! Hope to see you <3
I can’t love Kombucha I just can’t get into it. That Cinderella meme is just how coffee makes me feel too! 🙂
It’s seriously on point 😉
I want to try that broth bowl from Panera! I’ve been meaning to for months! Maybe you could make alcoholic lemonade? haha
Haha, oh… that sounds delicious! Like a Mike’s Hard Lemonade type of deal… only cooler 😉
I love Kombucha, but definitely feel like I’m in the minority. I also love anything really vinegar-y, and pickles, really, all sour things.
Not sure I love it as much as I love coffee, though…that’s the one vice I will never quit and have no desire to! 🙂
I’m not a huge fan of vinegar, but I do know it’s supposed to be good for you. Pickles, however, I’m all about! Coffee = my inspiration to get up every single morning… haha. Sad, but true!
I have never tried those bars, but I have definitely taken a look at them in the food stores! Will have to give them a go. Enjoy your visitor this weekend! My mom and sister were just in Austin to visit me and it was a fun excuse to do things I normally don’t do! Have fun. 🙂
I just saw that, so fun! Sorry you had to deal with bad weather… I’m very interesting to see how he will deal with the freezing cold up here! Have a great weekend!
Mmmmm soba noodles! I’ve been loving all things Asian with this pregnancy, so that caught my eye 😉
Those broth bowls look great! I’ll have to try one when I go home, since there isn’t a Panera near my school.. . Also, Asiago cheese bagels need to happen then 🙂
I love that Cinderella coffee meme! It really is princess juice! Haha! The Amazing Grass bars sound really interesting. I’ll have to see if our local health food store carries them. Thanks for hosting the linkup!
Haha, it makes me smile every time I see it! So great. <3 Happy Weekend!
I’ve been doing a warm lemon water in the mornings…That’s something you could do too, with your lemons 😉
That sounds like a great way to start the day! I might just have to try that… Happy Friday!
Thanks for stopping by Heather!
Oh I am so over snow and ready for warm weather. And lemonade! 🙂 Dreaming of a warm spring day sipping lemonade on the porch… Happy Friday!
Right? Me too. It’s March. “Spring” is two weeks away… c’monnnn! 😉
Must try those bars! Questionable green 😉 I’m so in!
Haha, true health enthusiasts aren’t afraid of a little green color in their food and drinks!
We had some snow yesterday, but the sun was out and it was so pretty!! But I’m still ready for some warmer temps….Soon!! Have a good weekend!
It’s amazing what a difference a little sunshine can make! Here’s hoping it sticks around through the weekend! 🙂
I’ve tried the Amazing Grass protein powder before and was really impressed, but I had no idea they made bars! I’m sure they are yummy if they’re anything like the protein powder.
You could use a lemon or two to do some baking – lemon squares, lemon blueberry muffins, lemon cake?!
Those are all great and yummy suggestions! Thanks, Ashley. Happy Friday! xo
I’ve heard about those new bowls at Panera! Looks delicious!
I wonder if other locations serve more than two flavors? I want to try them all!
That Panera noodle bowl looks delicious!!!! And love your purple top, so cute!!!
Aw, thank you! It’s actually the same one I’m wearing in my headshot on the sidebar 😉
The broth bowls are INCREDIBLE! Love the soba noodles. Need to try the chia kombucha! Cheers to the weekend!!
Thank you, cheers to you as well! 🙂
I need to try those chia kombucha! I’ve tried normal ones before and didn’t really like them so maybe this one will get me on board! I’ve been dying to try those bowls at Panera so good to know they’re delicious! Also, love that purple tank! Where did you get it?
You never know! I was a little surprised that I like the chia flavors better, but I do! Thanks! It’s from Stitch Fix. You can see the details here: https://lifeinleggings.com/fashion/welcome-back-stitch-fix/ 🙂 Happy Friday!
That Cinderella coffee funny is hilarious. That is my life 🙂
Haha, I know right? So great.
I have still been too scared to try the chia kombucha! I have serious texture issues so it just looks extremely questionable to me, haha. Maybe soon I will give it a shot. 🙂
That post “What are you deathly & not so afraid of?” was a favourite of mine as well! Made me feel much less crazy.
I’m lad to hear you enjoyed reading it… and that I’m not the only curious one out there! 😉
I’ve never heard of those AmaZing Grass bars, but trying new energy/protein bars is one of my favorite pastimes, ha! It sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you, have fun with your nephew 🙂
Oh! And as for the lemons, I needed to use some up this past week, as well, and made a lemon blueberry pound cake that was out of this world. Just an idea for you 😉
Yum, that sounds like a great idea!
I’m also in Michigan, so excited for near 50 temps this coming week 🙂
Woo HOO!! It’s about time! 😉
^^^My favorite right now I had a really, really bad Friday afternoon yesterday and this video definitely banished all those bad thoughts. Also, because who doesn t love goldens?
