Since it’s Friday and Scott got home late last night from volunteering at summer camp, I am feeling a little anxious for the weekend to start and spend some time with him! There are so many random things I want to share with you, so today I am going to continue on the Glamour Random series.
I have a feeling this is going to be a every other week kind of thing…
1. Peachy Green Protein Smoothie
I wanted to call this the Peachy Keen Protein Smoothie, but I chickened out. Instead, I went with Peachy Green, hoping you would catch on to the “green” for “keen” wordplay.
No? Al right… it’s a Peachy Green Smoothie because of the kale.
I put an option to add Stevia because the combination didn’t taste particularly sweet, like most smoothies do. I joke with Scott sometimes that I have “healthy eating blinders” on, meaning, if it’s good for me, I think it’s delicious.
Scott, on the other hand, tells it like it is. If the combination isn’t worth repeating, he will be the first to tell me. To me, any kind of fruit and vegetable combo tastes good, so it is nice to have a set of unbiased taste buds around here.
Add some Stevia if you need the sweetness taste in your smoothie.
😉
2. Obama Call Me Maybe Mashup
By now, I would bet that 99% of you have seen the Call Me Maybe Video Covers floating around YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
I heard the audio to this video on the radio driving to barre the other morning, and could not stop my urge to share it with you.
Please tell me you thought this was funny. All I could do was laugh when I finally saw what the video looks like!
Apparently whoever makes these videos has a decent amount of time on their hands. Fine by me, because I then went on to watch the reaming three videos:
Sexy and I Know It, Born This Way and Drink To That. Sexy and I Know It wins, in my book.
3. Cleaning Calendar
I don’t know about you, but I just can not sit still for a long period of time if the house is out of order.
I saw this picture on Pinterest a few weeks ago and immediately repinned it onto my Home Board.
The photo originally came from Jenny @ Little Green Notebook. Read about her Cleaning Process and her reasons for using pick up baskets and having swing days.
I have been doing the morning and night routines every day, but need to get better about the weekly chores. A clean house is pretty good motivation to do it though… great idea!
4. Whole Foods Strikes Again
For those of you who missed my Healthy Treat Discoveries, I am completely obsessed with the dinner bar at Whole Foods. While shopping for groceries, you are able to curve your hunger with a hot dinner bar filled with meats, vegetables, casseroles, rice, salads, soups, stews, you name it.
I like to try new and interesting food whenever I can, and it is an easy thing to do there. This week I quite literally loaded my plate with a dish called Big Banana Chicken, chick pea and zucchini quinoa, and a salad topped with tofu that took up at least half of my plate.
It was D-E-L-I-S-H! Although I can’t provide a recipe for these dishes, I use the photos as inspiration when searching for new healthy recipes to try. This chick pea and zucchini quinoa is at the top of my list.
5. Shaun T. Funny
As many of you probably read, I was fortunate enough to join an Insanity workout with Shaun T last month.
If you aren’t already aware, the workout is intense, and nothing short of… well… insane. With that being said, I hope you appreciate this as much as I did:
Ha!
The Insanity warm up we did that day – which is straight from the videos – included three rounds of fast paced jumping jack squats, core punches and power jumps among other exercises. The so called “warm up” lasted at least fifteen minutes and had everyone sweating in no time.
It was a great event, and I got some great photos from Cat Melnyk Photography, LLC. Check our her post about The Shaun T. Experience, where she even gives out a shout out to Scott and I. 🙂
I guess that is all the random I have for you today.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Father’s Day!
Danielle Dillard
Hah, just pinned that cleaning board on pinterest… i NEEDED that! I like your randoms! And I didn’t get to try the workout that day, but I sooo need to try Insanity. I’m pretty sure I’d be on the ‘flo in no time!

It’s a good one!!! Hey, maybe one day we can do Insanity together?! It’s a doozie!
