Happy Saturday! I hope you all are having a great start to your weekend.
Today is all about photoshoot prep for me, as we have our Pistons Dancers Media Day (costume shots) tomorrow. I’m definitely not going as extreme as I did the first time around for the bathing suit shots, but I’m still being conscious about what I’m eating and doing for workouts.
I set my alarm for 7:30 a.m. this morning in hopes of getting in a long run before my spray tan, but sleeping in with Scott ended up winning that battle. He just got back from a five day trip to Paris last night! I missed him.
No run… but I’m hoping to complete some kind of circuit training workout downstairs before turning in tonight instead.
I headed over to a shopping center to pick up a few last minute accessories for my photos this morning and can’t go on with this post without sharing how awesome it is to go anywhere directly after a spray tan.
For those of you who have gotten one before, you know that it takes about six hours for it to set before you can sweat (workout) or shower. I prefer to schedule them at night so I can just go home, sleep on it, and shower in the morning but that option wasn’t in the cards this time.
So, there I was, shoe shopping around town with my blotchy, shiny, overly-bronzed face and baggy sweats. Seeing people’s reactions was great. I could tell they didn’t want to be rude, but were trying to figure out exactly what was going on there. #awkward
Oh, the joys of these beauty tricks we get ourselves into!
And that was how my day started. We have an event at a trampoline park tonight, which should be entertaining, and a photoshoot with all of our entertainment teams tomorrow. It’s a fun kind of workin’ weekend for sure!
Hearts.com – Ethical Fashion
Some of you might recall an adorable mint and gray purse I featured in a Friday Favorites post not too long ago. When not dressed like a suntanned bag lady, there are days I put myself together and hardly ever remember to share anything fashion related with you. (Whoops!)
Here is my latest casual “on my way out for an afternoon of shopping and dinner with a friend” outfit that includes the purse as well as a few new favorites I picked up the day before.
Ombre Tank: Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s
Teal Jeans: JOE’S Jeans via Nordstrom Rack
Necklace: Interlock Cross Necklace by Stella & Dot
Bracelets: Charming Charlie
Sandals: Urban Outfitters
(Can’t get enough of this rose gold arm party!)
By the way, if you are a Kohl’s shopper they are currently having a HUGE sale. I adore the LC collection and was stoked to see all of her stuff marked down at 40-60% OFF!
While I am currently swooning over multiple pieces of this outfit, I can’t handle the cuteness of this Mint and Gray Convertible Envelope Clutch sent to me by Hearts.
While browsing their website, I was instantly drawn to this item because of the color combination and studded accents. You can imagine my excitement when it arrived at my doorstep a few weeks ago! Although the design may seem limiting, I have been wearing this purse out and about with a variety of different outfits, both casual and dressy.
Hearts is a newly launched ethical fashion company I was introduced to back in May. Their mission is to embrace awareness about the products we buy and how they affect people and the planet. Everything in their line is “Designed with Purpose” and the brand carries an admirable philosophy.

Not to mention, the entire line is darling and even includes pieces for men!
You can read more about what (and who) they stand for online, but a quick overview includes product values like being fair trade certified and using raw, recycled, upcycled, and handmade materials.

Love the bag! I’m used to getting weird stares from people because I always run errands as a sweaty mess after working out. I’m sure the grocery stores just love me stinking up their aisles :/
Heather
I’m hardly ever in “normal clothes” when I’m running errands! And, more times than not they are sweaty from going after the gym. Oops.
