Hey friends! I trust you had a great weekend. Oh wait… it’s still Sunday?
My mind is absolutely spinning trying think and take care of everything we need to before we leave for Paris Tuesday. If you put that together, that would be us leaving in T-minus 46 hours on Christmas Eve. We might be crazy… but stoked to spend Christmas Day overseas nonetheless!
How are you doing on holiday shopping? Are you still putting last minute gifts together? Up until tonight, so were we. Thanks to our very valued last pre-Christmas weekend, we’ve gotten progress over here and I am excited to be delivering the rest to desks, doorsteps and to our outgoing mailbox tomorrow morning.
Christmas presents: check. Holiday cards: check. (Nothing like last year’s DIY card and letter though. This time around they were hand written and saved for immediate family on our time crunch.) Holiday home games and practices: check. Now it’s time to get movin’ and start preparing for our trip!
To catch you up on what’s been going on around here, let’s dive right into a quick recap of our weekend… mostly through pictures.
Friday
Thursday and Friday were dedicated to Christmas shopping, wrapping, and shipping. Literally. I spent two entire days doing this up until I had to get ready and leave for our home game Friday night.
After the game, we met a few friends in Downtown Rochester, and got to see the street of bright lights that will never get old to me.
We ended up eating at an Irish pub and Scott gave me a hard time (once again) for ordering a salad there. In my defense, it was a steak salad with red onions, tomatoes, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing and was really, really good.
I also split a southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries (<- incredible) with our friend, Kylee (the blonde pictured above!) and enjoyed a nice tall glass of hard cider!
Saturday
Saturday was another game day. I have only performed at two consecutive home games in a row once out of the six years I have danced in the NBA! Rarely does the schedule ever work out that way, but for some reason it is going to happen again two more times this season. Nutso.
Both Scott and I woke up in the late-morning and he was out the door for a work event shortly after. That was my cue to take Roadie on his morning walk and I couldn’t help but to fall in love with the snow on the ground again.
I also found something else interesting there…
(Rudolph?)
As soon as we got in and thawed out, I made my standard weekend breakfast I have been all about lately:
(gluten-free waffles topped with strawberry-banana Greek yogurt and fresh berries + a side of turkey bacon.)
I spent the afternoon working on the computer, crossing off to-do’s, and booking flights. Before I knew it I was out the door and on my way to another game! To fuel, a stop at Jimmy Johns was obviously necessary. I couldn’t help but to also stop in at Biggby Coffee right next door.
(Non-fat Chai tea latte and a Beach Club unwich – no bread, no mayo, sub lettuce wrap.)
What made this game different from the night before was the Holiday theme. This basically means we get to dress up like Mrs. Claus and dance to holiday music, which is always a good time. I also got a surprise present from a teammate.
(Thanks Nichole!)
I love holiday games, and part of me wishes we can dress up the entire month of December. What… too much?
After the game we once again joined some friends for dinner and I ordered another delicious salad. What isn’t pictured (both nights), however, is the appetizer of spinach and artichoke dip with chips and a few bites of Scott’s entrees I may have stolen.
This one was actually very similar to the salad I ordered the night before, except there was bacon, a hard boiled egg and dried cranberries. Also, I opted to add grilled chicken instead of steak.
We I like to share our food. 😉
Sunday
Today started with a morning team practice, but was super fun for me for one big reason.
Casper, a friend and hip hop choreographer I have known since high school, came into town and taught us a routine! I was so pumped and seeing a familiar face from home put me in the best mood.
By the way, did you notice how absolutely stunning the scenery is behind us?
There was an ice storm on watch Saturday night, which was left the prettiest icicles on all of the trees!
Ahhh, I love seeing a real winter wonderland!
After practice, Scott picked me up and we went across the street to a strip of outlet stores. Before we went in, we popped into a Quizno’s next door for a warm lunch.
(Turkey lite on wheat with all the added veggies and cup of chicken tortilla soup.)
We had fun picking out some last minute presents for a few loved ones, and I might have wanted to purchase a few extra things that made me smile.
I refrained, but thought this mug and these buttons were certainly worth sharing. (Umm… hilarious.)
Eventually, we made it back home and I left Scott in charge of starting some holiday cookie baking. I have one more last minute gift idea for you I’ll be sharing with you tomorrow!
Enjoy the rest of your night and I’ll see ya in the morning! 😀
*Disclaimer: I do not post everything I eat! I chose to include pictures of some of my meals to hopefully give healthy eating inspirations for home or even while on-the-go.

Wow, you had a crazy, fun-filled weekend! I’m still jealous you’re going to PARIS for Christmas. So ridiculously perfect. Love those Mrs. Claus costumes! I’m sure that a holiday themed halftime would be a blast to perform during!

Oh my gosh! I love your white (light grey?) beanie hat! May I ask where you got it?
