Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend.
I spent the majority of mine organizing things around the apartment and preparing for our upcoming trip to Orlando. Since I don’t have many snapshots to share from the weekend, I figured I would skip over the usual recap and get onto this week’s content.
Mother’s Day is just around the corner!
Do you have any idea what to get that special lady (or ladies) in your life?
I like to roll out a LIL Gift Guide every now and then, so I thought it would be fun to assemble and share a list of what I’ve been eyeing to gift the mothers in my life this year. Most are steals for under $50!
• spring time phone case
Since Mother’s Day always falls in the spring season, it’s a great reason to update her phone case with some bright and cheery colors. Check out these cheery, flowery prints from the !
(scroll and click each case for purchasing info.)
Casetify offers a huge variety of phone case designs, and they even have a Mother’s Day collection. It would be hard for me to choose just one.
• gift card to a spa or for a salon service
Give them an excuse to enjoy some well-deserved pampering!
For most moms, you can’t go wrong with a gift card to their favorite salon or spa. Cover their next haircut, facial, massage, and/or pedicure! If your mom is anything like mine, then she won’t treat herself to those services very often … but she loves them.
• keepsake jewelry
I’m not a mom yet, but I think I would really cherish a piece (or pieces) of keepsake jewelry with my children’s names on it (them). Check out these stackable name rings!
You can find several different versions and price points on Etsy.
(These are a little more pricey, but I love them.)
If you don’t think that she would be into a set of rings, how about a personalized necklace or bracelet?
Brooklyn Initial and Date Necklace ($30.25+)
Child Name Bracelet ($23.99+)
I love that you can personalize the names, the number of charms, and wear the bracelet intermixed with an collection. So cute!
• coffee mugs that make her smile
It’s no secret that most moms need a little caffeine pick-me-up every now and then. Why not also give her a smile?
source ($16)
There are tons of funny coffee mugs geared towards parenting out there, but this one, and this specific Etsy shop caught my eye. Those mugs are hilarious! Again, I’m not a mother yet, but I know I would certainly appreciate a laugh in the mornings after long, sleepless nights.
Does she like to take coffee or hot tea with her? If so, then she just might enjoy a travel mug, too. Francesca’s has an adorable collection of them. She’ll appreciate your gift every time she uses it!
• shea butter hand cream
Always being on-the-go often means taking every day essentials with you. I’m a big fan of shea butter hand cream, and most women seem to agree. (I know my mom and sister, also a mom, always carry and turn to it!)
($12 – $28)
My favorite lotion to have on hand is shea butter because of the thickness as well as the long-lasting moisturizing factor. I have tried a variety of them, and the one that keeps coming up on top is from L’Occtaine that I received as a gift. The combination of shea butter, honey, and sweet almond extract is very calming and effective. It’s a bit pricey for hand cream, so it’s something she would enjoy but might not splurge on to purchase for herself.
Find these lotions, , , and .
• fresh flowers
If you aren’t close enough to pick up a bouquet of fresh flowers on the way over to see her this Mother’s Day, send her one!
Just Make it Awesome Tulips ($50+)
This isn’t intended to be a plug, but my favorite delivery service as of late has been The Bouqs. I have adored the bouquets that I have received from them (as gifts from friends), and I love how the site doesn’t try to upsell you. Pick a bouquet, order, ship for free. It seems pretty simple.
Psst! Save 20% and get Free Delivery when you use code MDAY20 at checkout!
• treat her to a blowout
Drybars are becoming very popular, and I can totally see why! (Is there a location near you?)
source (one blowout usually costs $40+ tip, depending on the location)
I experienced my first drybar blowout on a girls’ trip to Scottsdale. Visiting a drybar is different than a traditional hair salon because they don’t cut or color hair, but instead offer a wash, blow dry, and style where you can usually get in and out with clean and styled hair within an hour.
(If you aren’t close to a drybar, google search “blow dry bar near me” and see what pops up!)
Any mom who doesn’t get much time to spend on herself would love this. I would get a blowout once a week if I could afford it!
• Dogeared ‘Mom’ necklace
I just love Dogeared necklaces. They are super light, (affordable!), dainty, and the messages behind them make them even more special. I recently discovered that they have several designs just for moms.
($56 – $66)
($42 – $48)
‘Step-Mom Perfect Heart With Tiny Stone’ necklace ($42.99)
(See also ‘Mom Perfect Heart With Tiny Stone’ necklace ($54)
‘Mom Love Multi Gem’ necklace (66 – $74)
Dogeared necklaces come in a beautiful gold box with a description of what the pendant means. I think they’re so sweet!
