About a week ago, Scott and I made a spontaneous little purchase that made a big boom at our house.
World, meet Lola!
(That is my “go-to” name of anything electronic and wonderful.)
She is a JAMBOX by Jawbone and is what you would consider a Hi-fi wireless speaker and speakerphone. Fully charged, the battery can last up to fifteen hours, and you can take her anywhere you choose.
Scott and I had both seen the commercial for this speaker, and after a quick demo at Best Buy we were sold.
My favorite part has to be the “remote”. There are buttons built into the speaker, but you can also use your phone, computer, or tablet to control what is playing.
She comes in two sizes, and we decided on the bigger one. Paying $300 for something we wanted over needed seemed a little silly, but in the end we decided it would be a great New Year’s/Dateiversary present to each other.
With a day or two of buyer’s remorse, Scott and I eventually got over it and decided the new addition was worth every penny. We absolutely love our BIG JAMBOX and often use it when we spend time at home.
Every movie feels like surround sound and every CD sounds like the music is playing live. We chose black to match our furniture, but I adored all of the variety of colors it came in! Not pictured is white, purple and gold.
It really is hard to believe all of the sound that comes out of one little box.
Well played, Jawbone.
If any of you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you might know my latest music obsession of the Ed Sheeran + Album.
After buying it for under $10 on iTunes, I can honestly say that Lola and I listen to it once a day… at least.
In my opinion, Ed Sheeran is the new (UK version of) Jason Mraz, and it is no secret how much Scott and I love him!
(Insert flashback to me singing on camera). (Now forget that happened).
Vine Video App
Other things besides speakers have been booming lately!
One of them is a new app I downloaded for my iPhone called Vine. I would describe it as the video version of Instagram, and if you have not checked it out already, I urge you to do so.
Using the app, you can shoot any kind of video, and it automatically edits it into a six second version. It’s like magic!
You can see a little preview of the video fun I have been having by clicking on my Twitter profile and playing the videos on the left sidebar.
*If you watch them, make sure to turn the sound on by clicking the volume bell in the upper right hand corner.
You weren’t quite ready for that last one were you? Oh boy.
Like any social media platform, I plan to use this app to inspire healthy and fun living… but you know there will always be a few cameos made by our furry children too.
Follow Me!
As if it was any question before, you now know how I spend most of my time at home when I am cleaning, organizing, or even working on the computer…
Jamming out with the jambox, of course!
😉
*Disclaimer: I was not provided with or compensated in any way for writing about the JAMBOX by Jawbone speaker. I chose to write about it on my own to share my thoughts and excitement about the product. As always, all opinions in this review are my own!
Question of the Day
• Have you ever purchased a portable speaker system? Was it worth the money?
Both Scott and I are music and movie lovers. You can find either one of us listening to something and even singing along when (we think) we are alone. Being in the entertainment field, we can actually use this speaker for work and appreciate the portability. In our books, it was one hundred percent worth the investment.
Carissa
I love my Jambox also! I received the small one as a gift for Christmas before coming to India…Since we have a subscription to Spotify, I have offline music always available on my phone even in other countries for hoop dance classes. We go into the slums and villages in the middle of nowhere and can lead dance classes with just my little phone and little Jambox…miracles for the ministry and fits right in my little backpack 🙂 so cute! love it! Miss you guys!!!!!
