Good Morning! This one is a lively one for me because I am taking the plunge and starting a link up for all of those Friday Favorites lovers out there. Please tell me I’m not the only one excited about this.
It all started with an excuse to share some of my random musings from my days through sporadic Glamour Randoms. I was pleasantly surprised to find out you guys enjoy these type of posts, which is what inspired me to start structuring them more and publishing them on a weekly basis through a Friday Favorites series.
After months of seeing “What I’m Loving Lately” and “Friday Faves” grow in popularity, I found myself clicking on any blog that shared their collection of weekly favorite thoughts, product finds, or funnies. Mostly because they usually appear on Fridays and it’s a great way to reflect on the week and transition into the weekend. (TGIF!)
I decided to create a link up for anyone to share any type of favorites post… because… well, why not? If I like to creep on other people’s favorites, chances are that you do too.
Whether it’s fitness, food, holiday, fashion, or whatever related, feel free to share your list of things you’ve been loving lately through the widget (blue button) at the bottom of the post. If you are not a blogger, I still welcome you to take part in my weekly FF party and share some of yours in the comments section!
Let’s do this!
Friday Favorites #7: Week of 10/18
• Unwiches
While Jimmy John’s has some serious drool-worthy white bread on their hands, I have been grateful for their “unwich” option I discovered back in Orlando.
You still get the same gourmet sandwiches you know and love, just wrapped tight in lettuce instead of the sub bread. This week, I was craving their Beach Club (no mayo) something awful!
Rarely do I miss the bread. Occasionally I will revert back to it, but I enjoy a bag of Salt ‘n Vinegar chips on the side during most visits instead. (<- utter weakness.)
• Champion Fitness Tank via Target
Gah! I just love Target. But really, who doesn’t?
While I normally don’t intentionally shop for clothes there (key word = intentionally), I can’t help but to quickly scan the active wear and sale sections every now and then. On my latest trip I found this adorable and ridiculously comfortable C9 by Champion Fit and Flare Tank for under $10.
Since I live in active wear these days, I appreciate a comfortable fitness tank I can wear pretty much anywhere. Plus the built in sports bra is always a bonus!
• Welcome Back, Whole Foods Market
Since moving up north, I have only visited our local Whole Foods Market a handful of times. Considering I stopped by the one across the street from my old barre studio in Orlando at least twice a week, this is a big deal.
Instead of making my regular trip to the grocery store, I decided to get my new recipe thinking cap on and get inspired by new products and produce just waiting for me to discover and try!
Behind those Whole Foods doors always lies organic goodness and endless possibilities. It can actually get a little overwhelming because I end up wanting to put everything in my cart. I have always encountered very friendly and helpful staff at any location I have been to, which always makes my shopping experience a pleasant one.
Then I see my bill. Ha! It seems so expensive, but worth it every once in a while.
• Chai Tea Lattes
While shopping, I stumbled upon their cafe which instantly made me crave something warm. The weather was dreary, cold, and rainy outside which always makes me crave tea.
Bypassing the coffee and pumpkin spice espressos (which you all should know is a win in itself for me), I confidently ordered a small chai tea latte with almond milk.
I enjoy a simple herbal tea with hot water every now and then, but was actually craving the chai and latte this time. Can’t get enough of them lately!
• Pumpkin Spice Waffles
Stop it right now. While I was reaching for my usual Van’s Gluten Free waffles, I just so happened to see these beauties.
The pumpkin spice already made the buying decision for me, but when I saw they were also made of quinoa, amaranth and flax I became fully intrigued.
Even though I already ate dinner, dessert, and brushed my teeth, I just couldn’t go to bed without trying one of them. They were calling to me.
I toasted one waffle and topped it with the same pumpkin-apple sauce topping I did yesterday. You know that moment you realize you ate the last bite of ice cream and keep digging your spoon into the bottom of the bowl for more anyways? That’s exactly what happened here.
First the Pumpkin Raisin Crunch, now these. Kudos, Nature’s Path!
• Treadmill Sprints
With the (mostly) gorgeous fall weather going on up here lately, I haven’t actually been into the gym for quite a while. Instead, I’ve been enjoying running outside and doing a variety of at home workouts.
Yesterday, I hopped on the treadmill for a quick series of sprints before my Fitness Pilates class. Below is my “resting” position, where I took :30 in between each minute sprint to get ready for the next one.
Be sure to hold on tight and please make sure you have your footing when you get back on if you ever do this. The machine I picked was right next to the trainers corner, so I’m sure they were all staring at me thinking I’m either crazy or kicking butt.
Anyways, here’s what I did!
It may have been short, but sure got me nice and sweaty!
• This Article: 29 Underrated Things About Being In Your Late Twenties
Because I can’t get enough of anything that makes me feel better about turning 29 next year. I originally saw it on Gina‘s blog last week. Good one!
• Frozen Fruit For Easy Smoothies
Any time fresh produce (especially berries, bananas, or spinach) is about to go bad, I try my best to make it last longer by freezing it. Having fruit prepped and accessible makes my motivation to make smoothies at home so much higher.
Occasionally, I will get on a smoothie kick and buy bags of my favorite frozen fruit to have on hand.
I would by any fruit, but love that I can easily add mangoes and peaches to my smoothies without all the hassle of cutting them up first. (Mangoes are such a pain!)
Friday Favorites Link Up Party
Since this is the first post (and first week) I am hosting this link up party, I don’t expect it to be uber successful. I would, however, be tickled to see at least a handful of you join in on the fun.
Also, I encourage you to grab this button and include it in your posts. Simply copy the code and paste it into your text. Party on!
Happy Friday!
Em @ Love A Latte
Love that article about being in late twenties. Made me smile because so true, and that’s so awesome you could get almond milk in your chia tea latte (yum!!!). I wish Starbucks did almond milk. Happy Friday!
Heather
I know! I’m sure we aren’t the only ones waiting on that day. What gives?
Lisa
I need to find those waffles – YUM!! 🙂
Heather
I would be lying if I said the box wasn’t almost already gone. Whoops.
Natalie
I love the pumpkin idea with the waffles! So going to try it out as soon as I can get to the store.
Heather
Let me know where you find them if it’s not at Whole Foods!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
O man I must find those waffles! They must be completely new because they are not on the website! Are they soy-free as well though?
Heather
I know, I couldn’t find them either! Unfortunately no. They contain soy oil and natural soy. But, on a positive note my husband LOVED them this morning!
Runner Girl Eats
I love chai tea! Iced, hot, you name it. I am also a huge fan of Target workout gear too. One of my favorite tops is a tank I got for $9 two years ago.
Heather
Can’t beat the Target active wear sale section!
Elise @ 9toFit.com
I can always looking for new workout tops, can’t beat $10 and those look cute! Looks like I’m making a stop to target!
Heather
I feel like it’s a hit or miss! If there are a lot of sales going on my cart ends up full before I even have a chance.
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables
Target has so many cute and affordable workout clothes, I love it!
Heather
I could spend so much money there! I kind of do. (oops).
Lisa
Pumpkin spice waffles sound amazing! I’m always so jealous of the goodies you all can find at Whole Foods. Seriously, we need a Whole Foods where I live asap. So not cool.
Also, we need a better Target up here…ours sucks (and that’s putting it nicely) 🙂
Have a lovely weekend my friend!
Heather
Aw, I vote for bringing both into your area! It’s so crazy how different stores can be depending on location. I grew up with Wal-Mart being anything but clean and glamorous, and that exactly how all of them are in Scott’s hometown. I guess it helps that is the home of the brand.
Anyways, Happy Weekend!
Danielle
What a fun idea for a link up! I might have to join in next week 🙂 Those pumpkin waffles look amazing and because they’re gluten free I can have them! I’ll be keeping my eye out for them 🙂
Heather
You totally should… 😉 I’m loving GF waffles and anything in general lately!
Erin @ The Almond Eater
Yay for link ups! I will be sure to link up next Friday since I am a big fan of Friday Favorite posts. 1. I love that tank top and 2. Those waffles look delicioussss!
Heather
Awesome Erin! Thanks for stopping by!
Miranda @ Lovely Wife Lovely Life
I’ve never been to a Whole Foods. I feel like that’s a blogger fail, but there aren’t any close to me!!!
Heather
I’m curious, what health food stores are near you? Trader Joes? I hadn’t been to one of those until I moved up here.
Paige@FitNotFad
Pumpkin Spice Waffles?!???! I die…..I die. Looks so good! I love Whole Foods but holy expensive. Definitely not an every-week kind of visit.
Heather
I know. I guess that’s why I haven’t visited often since the move. I have a feeling it will be a “special occasion” kind of shopping trip.
Hayley Kremer
I have that same top in pink!! I love it! Those waffles look so good! Gotta find them! And I absolutely love frozen mango!! I just munch on them for a little sweet treat!
Heather
The pink is adorable! I found my box at Whole foods, but I’ve bought Nature’s Path at other stores before. I know Kroger carries the brand. Great idea about frozen mango!!
Jennifer S
Pumpkin spice waffles sound awesome. And you’ve inspired me to checkout the workout clearance rack at Target. Happy Friday!
Heather
Yay! I’ll see you there! 😉
Hillary | Nutrition Nut on the Run
That tank is super cute… and < $10!? Jealous!
Heather
I know, right? Couldn’t leave the store without it! Ahhh, Target.
Megan
I am def. adding Whole Foods to my weekend to-do list to get waffles. Do they have them in any other flavors? An unwich at JImmy Johns is one of my favorites too! then I dont feel that bad about those BBQ chips 🙂
Heather
Yes, they had a good variety! I’m sure you will have a hard time just getting one box. 😉
Cailee
What great favorites you have!! I love frozen mango for spinach smoothies and that ‘unwich’ looks delish! What a great idea!! As does chia tea! And love that you’re loading up on pumpkin!! So great and so seasonal!
Heather
I seriously can’t get enough of it right now!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl
Pumpkin spice waffles?? I definitely need to get my hands on those!
Heather
Ohhhhhh yeah!
Heather Murphy
I hardly ever do link- ups, but this idea I LOVE because I love Friday fave’s! I might actually do my first link- up next friday. I also love unwich’s.. Jimmy John’s was a go- to in college for late night grub, but I went for something a little less healthy back then!
Heather
Awesome, Heather! And, I completely agree. I loved it when Downtown Orlando got a JJ that stayed open all night! 😉
dee
I love Friday Favorites! What a neat idea!
Heather
Hope to see you back for a link up! Have a great week! 🙂
Brittany @ The Fit Phoenician
I love the link up idea and will definitely get mine in there for the next #FFavorites!
Heather
Awesome Brittany! I love your excitement! 😀
taramdeal
Yay!! Love this! Thanks for sharing all your favorites 🙂 I also adore Target and almost never PLAN on buying clothing items there. It’s like a black hole that just sucks me in!
Heather
Happens to the best of us! Every time!
Christa @ Sit-ups & Sequins
I was seriously wondering the other day if a Friday Favorites link up existed and if not, someone should start one! I will definitely start using this! 🙂
Heather
That’s exactly why I started one! I wanted to link up. Glad you’re joining in on the party! 🙂
Katie Elizabeth Gagliano
