Good afternoon! The weather in our area today is perfect. Chilly in the mid-60s and sunny, just how I like it.
I know that won’t last forever, so I have been studying in a sweatshirt by a cracked window for the past couple of hours and wanted to share something I didn’t have to use my brain much for on my break.
During this week’s Edge (youth) small group sessions, we asked our high school students a series of forty questions to get to know each other a little better. I loved hearing the answers from my group of girls and thought it would be fun to take ten of my favorites and answer them here.
If I didn’t and kept powering through chapters, the rest of my study time would be spent reorganizing my notecards for no reason at all. That someecard is totally me.
I hope you like these Glamour Randoms every once in a while. Feel free to play along and answer one or all of them in the comments section!
Study Break Survey
Because sometimes you just need a few minutes to do something else…
• If you could live in any book which one would it be?
I always thought it would be cool to live in a fantasy land, only if it’s temporary, of course. Wouldn’t it be great to wander around in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland?
• What is the food you dream of when you think of Thanksgiving?
Pumpkin pie, obviously. And creamed corn. Nana always made the BEST. <3
• What’s the last movie you saw in theaters?
If I Stay. Loved it! If you see it make sure to bring a box of tissues…
• Who do you admire most in the world?
People who live without fear, regret, and like every day might be their last.
• What was your favorite game to play as a child?
Oh man, tons. The game of LIFE always interested me. Tetris, Clue, Connect Four, or Dunk Hunt anyone?
• If your life was a song, what would the title be?
Is it too soon to say “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift? Because she clearly wrote it about my life… (minus the part about the dating.)
• What is your biggest fear?
Losing someone extremely close to me unexpectedly.
• Have you been told you look like a celebrity? Who?
When my hair was bleached blonde and I had bangs everyone called me Heather Locklear.
People (still to this day) occasionally say I resemble Melissa Joan Hart. I’m not one hundred percent sure about that one.
• If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Umm everywhere. I’ve been to Asia, Europe, and South America. I would love to visit Australia and Africa! #bucketlist
• What’s the most meaningful gift you have ever received?
My engagement ring.
Scott actually proposed with his mother’s old engagement ring and took me through a loop of stories and excuses as to where mine was for months. He surprised me with it at our engagement party and I had no idea what it looked like.

The bottom of it has two sapphires next to each other, symbolizing us coming together and meeting through our jobs with the Orlando Magic! I thought is was very sweet of him to add the unique detail and it will always mean a lot to me.

All right. It’s time for me to get back to work. I hope this post entertained you on this somewhat slow-moving weekday. Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
Question of the Afternoon
• Pick one or more of the questions and answer them!

I love your answer about who you admire most – just perfect!
I see the Heather Locklear resemblance! I get Kristin Davis from Sex and the City frequently.
Love Kristin Davis! And her character on SATC. I would definitely take that as a compliment 🙂
Maybe I’m just nosy, but I love hearing about other people’s engagements stories and rings. Such a sweet and meaningful story behind yours. And the ring is absolutely gorgeous!
To answer your first survey question– I’m a huge Harry Potter nerd, so I would have to say that I’d choose to be part of the wizarding world. As a wizard, not a muggle. Hah. Also, I sometimes get that I look like Eva Mendes…I don’t hate it! 😉
Don’t worry I do too! And thank you. Eva Mendes is gorgeous! I totally see it 🙂
I dream of my allergy-free crustless pumpkin pie and vegan/gluten-free stuffing! I can ONLY make them for thanksgiving, just a total tradition!
Oh my gosh, you have to!
Ohhh love surveys like this! You really do look like Heather in that photo! And that engagement story is so sweet and I love how personal he made it, not to mention such a gorg ring! I think the celeb people compare me to in the past is Lea Michele, but I don’t really see it! And I have so many places I’d love to travel to but Australia is def one of my top ones!
Aw, thank you!! Lea Michele is beautiful, take it as a compliment 🙂
Any book? Maybe Alice in wonderland or the Mortal instrument series. anything with wondrous magic involved sounds mighty fine to me!
You would probably love Harry Potter then too!
I love the meaning of your ring! My engagement ring is from Na Hoku, the Hawaiian jeweler and there are vines on the sides that mean “Love, Honor and Respect.” I’ve got a few more pieces from that jeweler since and love them.
Fun little survey … I love pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving for sure. And people have told me two very different celebrities — Rachel McAdams and Julia Stiles. I don’t know if I see either.
Happy Tuesday! 🙂 Good luck studying,
That’s so cool! I bet it’s beautiful. And also I could see both of those!
I definitely agree with you on the books and getting to walk/live through them for a day! I would pick a fantasy book like Alice in Wonderland (good choice) or Harry Potter. I’m also with you on the Who do you Admire most in the World question. The only other person I would add in particular to that list is my mother. She’s so selfless and giving and strive to be more like her in my future.
Aw, great answer!
Your ring is beautiful! And that pic of you next to Heather Locklear is legit, seriously. Sometimes I get Miley Cyrus and I die a little on the inside… fortunately it hasn’t happened much lately!!
I have to also say my mother is the person I admire most in the world — she’s currently battling breast cancer and she is so strong and so positive, she makes me feel the same way. She’s also the one person I know I can count on regardless of anything — her unconditional love and support amazes me!!
Have a lovely evening!
Living in any book–how can you pick just one!?!?! Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory could be amazing…if I followed the rules 😉
As a newer reader of your blog, it’s fun to see that cute picture from your engagement party!!
Love that E card, I’m the same way hahaha if I don’t fix it, it’ll be on my mind driving me crazy until I do. And oh em gee! You look like Healther Locklear a lot, like a crazy similarity!! And I’d say no you do not look like Melissa Joan Hart hahaha. No one has ever told me I look like any celebrity.
Oh man, pumpkin pie and pecan pie!! I can’t wait!!
