Hey hey everybody… it’s Valentines Day!!!
I know my wishes for you to have a wonderful one are coming late in the day, but my intentions stay the same. Whether you are at work or at home, at the gym, getting ready for a special dinner, or on the couch eating chocolates (<- envying you!)… I hope you all have had a fantastic Valentines Day full of love!
Rest and Prep Day
Today was what I like to call “taking a personal.” Those are the days when I feel like I need to catch up on sleep, rest, prep, and spend some good ‘ol quality R&R time with yours truly – myself.
The last few weeks have been full of late nights, and yesterday was no exception. After beating the Washington Wizards, our Pistons team hosted a private party for the dancers and other entertainment groups. It was at a delicious sushi restaurant in Troy called Mon Jin Lau, which is also where I surprised Scott for his birthday.
We had a great time and enjoyed getting to let a little loose on the dance floor. Sorry… no photos there kids.
Maybe one day I will subject you to Scott and I’s favorite moves to do together on the dance floor including the robot, shimmy and spirit hands. Maybe.
Getting home late prompted me to stay up late and turn in this morning’s assignments early. Every now and then I will do that to ensure a sleep in day will happen. I guess my body needed it, because when I woke up it took me a while to get motivated to do much besides sip coffee and snuggle with this guy.
Scott had left for work, so it was just us two spending Valentines Day together on the couch. After deeming it a “rest day”, I spent the majority of the morning catching up on my recorded DVR shows, and remembered there is a special movie coming out today.
As soon as I saw it was from the authors of The Notebook and the leading actress is Julianne Hough, I was sold. I just adore her.
Scott and I do not really get into the hoopla of Valentines Day, and in fact agreed to not get each other anything this year. Some people might not get it, but I actually agree with his logic behind it. You are probably wondering what that is, so I will do my best to try and quote him…
“Why just have one day a year to celebrate the one you love? Flowers, candy, and appreciation should come all year long… not just a day because a short, chubby, naked baby with a weapon says so.”
Charming, right? Gotta love’ em!
At the end of the day, I get it, and I really cannot complain or argue it. Scott has a sweet side and has been known to bring home flowers and buy me treats every now and then just because. For that, I will take it.
He is still at the office, and I am taking the next few hours to catch up on some work. We might decide to get crazy and go see the movie, if we are feeling it. Who knows! 😉
XTrain Workout DVDs
While sitting around on the couch thinking of everything else I should be doing, I opened up a package I received in the mail yesterday. Inside a bubbled envelope was the complete cathe XTrain Workout Series.
I was really excited to be selected to review her program, and spent the afternoon researching which one would be best for me. It is no secret that I do not work out to lose weight, but instead to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. For this reason, I think I have decided to go with the 30-day Cardio + Strength Combined workout program.
After browsing, it looks like I need to invest in at least a few equipment purchases. I have been wanting to get a stability ball, and a few dumbbell free weights to have at home for quite a while, and this is the perfect excuse to do so.
I have not decided what to do about the rest of the equipment. I have a few resistance bands, but would need to still get the firewalker loops, slide n glide discs, step with risers, and boxing gloves. Hmmm.
Being able to train and workout from home seems like a good investment to me, but I am not completely sure I can just go out and buy everything at once at this time.
Over the next few days, I will come up with a solution and share it with you!
Well, I am off to tackle a few projects and get ready for a night with the hubby at little bit later. Hope you all enjoy yours!
