Good afternoon! I hope you’re having a great one.
Mine is jammin’, thanks to the awesome #ThrowbackThursday playlist I’m listening to.
I’m sorry… 2gether? I totally forgot about that “band”. The fact that I used know every single word to this song is hilarious. Or how about this one? Why. That’s just all different levels of ridiculous. Ha!
Anyways, I wanted to check in with you guys for a few reasons.
(One of the three furry workout buddies I usually have around.)
One is to let you know that the workout I shared this morning is on point.
It’s what I like to call a “lazy girl’s workout”, meaning you can do it in the comfort of your living room and involves a lot of rest time. Even so, it still proved to be effective and burned a decent amount of calories in 35 minutes. I will be turning to it again in the future, I’m sure!
After my workout, I cleaned up and came back downstairs ready for lunch. About that…
Have you ever tried cottage cheese as a salad topping?
Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, bella mushrooms, green peppers, two hardboiled eggs, cottage cheese, and feta cheese topped in fresh ground black pepper and drizzled in a cilantro lime dressing.
You totally should.
It sounds super weird, but after seeing my dad and grandma do it earlier this week, I became very intrigued and wanted to try it for myself. It’s pretty good, y’all. Just trust me.
Want a couple of more randoms for the road?
• Scott took my car to drive today, left me his, and I’m not okay with it.
I mean… I know we’re married and what’s yours is mine and mine is yours, but… would that bother you? I like my car. It’s my car. That’s your car. If I wanted to drive a bigger one (in the snow), I would have chosen a bigger one for myself. Right?
• I applied self-tanner for the first time in weeks today…
And it makes me feel slightly better about myself. Coming from Michigan and wearing shorts in Florida this week was a huge wakeup call. I don’t think I have ever been this shade of white before. Spring, if you could come along and show your beautiful face soon, that’d be great.
• I actually miss the treadmill.
I never thought I would, but now that I don’t have every day access to one, I miss it. We’ve got a stationary bike at the gym, but nothing compares to a good set of interval sprints to get my blood pumping every now and then. I can’t be the only one who feels this way.
• I can’t listen to this song without picturing the Happy Hands Club from Napoleon Dynamite.
I’m sorry. I just can’t.
• Go-to snack of the week = a sliced apple dipped in peanut butter.
(Plus another straight spoonful of peanut butter right to my mouth, for good measure.)
It’s kind of the best healthy snack ever. That’s all.
So yeah… those are just some Thursday Thoughts for you.
All right, I better go. I have some things to catch up on before an evening of training work unfolds. I’ve got a video chat with a web-based client followed by a trip to the gym to teach a circuit class. Don’t worry, I’ll make it home just in time for #TGIT.
Have a great night, and I’ll see you back here first thing tomorrow morning with Friday Favorites! <3

Question of the Afternoon
What is one thing you would share if you were Thinking Out Loud?

Cottage cheese on a salad?! Sounds intriguing. I’ll have to try that out sometime!
It’s unexpectedly delicious. Let me know if you do!
Your cat is so cute! Happy Thursday!
Aw, thanks! I think so too… 😉
OMG 2gether. I totally forgot about them haha. I knew every word to U+Me=Us. Too funny!I Also, I wanted to let you know I listened to your Winter Workout playlist on Spotify during my run this morning and I loved it. Thanks for sharing!
Too funny!! Aw, I’m glad you liked it. I probably listen to it once every day!
My Scott also took my car to work today. I feel “stranded” here without a car (his is a manual and he won’t let me try to drive it lolol).
I’m in dire need of applying self-tanner to myself. I’m trying to wait it out but get this… one day I was wearing flats (without socks), looked down at my feet and was like “hey I didn’t think I wore socks today”. Then I remembered. I didn’t. I was just THAT pale. :/
What is with that? I’m glad somebody understands… and about the whiteness, Scott legit thought I was wearing a tank under my sweatshirt last week. There was no tank. Just me.
MMMM..i Love apples with some nutbutter, so delicious!!
Yum!!
I can put cottage cheese on just about anything!! 🙂
I’ve definitely eaten an embarrassing amount by myself before. It’s fine.
Cottage cheese with black pepper is so good! I don’t typically put it on salad but I like that idea, it’s a great way to add protein.
I have to eat it with black pepper unless I’m mixing it with fruit!
I can relate to the self-tanner issue! I’m Lebanese and don’t think I was even born this white. Ever since I moved from Scottsdale to Milwaukee I’ve seen my olive skin go from brown to white and it’s scary. I told my bf I needed self tanner and he told me he would throw me in the snow if I used it haha! PS. I love quick burners like that workout that you have no excuse not to do!
Haha, that’s great. I agree that some self-tanners make you look orange, which is worse than white. I’m confident in the ones I use though. They’ve stood through years and years of testing! Ha. https://lifeinleggings.com/beauty/spray-and-self-tanning-101/
I like mixing cottage cheese with a bit of salsa and using that as a salad dressing. It makes for a nice southwestern salad
The Reebok Skyscapes that I won on your blog a few weeks ago were waiting for me when I got home from work. I spent a good hour trying them on with all my different pants (please tell me that I’m not the only one that does that with new shoes??). I’m already in love with them and foresee wearing them a lot. I can’t wait for the snow to melt so that I can start wearing them!! Thanks again 🙂
That’s a strange but awesome idea! I’m going to try that! 🙂
And yay, that’s so great to hear! Thank you for entering the giveaway, I hope you love them! I’m certainly obsessed with mine! 😉
Never done cottage cheese on a salad, but that’s a genius idea! I’m also the same way about my husband’s car. I hate his car and LOVE mine. I’m all for sharing, but not for certain things!
Hehe, totally understand!
Apple slices with almond butter have been a go-to snack of mine lately, too. But I must be going a little too hard on the almond butter because we can’t seem to get a jar to last more than a week around here!
LOVE cottage cheese on salads! So delicious! Ugh, I need to apply some self tanner asap as well… These clouds and snow need to go!!
Yay, it’s great to hear that I’m not the only cottage cheese on a salad lover!
Almond butter and apple slices are delicious. Totally understand about your car! We get very protective of these things. A car = freedon to go whevever we want!
Haha, I’m glad you’re on the same page 😉
Mmm…cottage cheese on a salad does sound oddly delicious. I’ll have to try it soon! Random question…what brand of peanut butter do you use? Yours always looks a little less thick than the brands I usually buy. I think I’d love that consistency, but I can’t ever seem to find it.
Actually, this one came in a gift basket to us, Koeze Company, and is made right here in Michigan. It’s really good and looks like a homemade nut butter. I usually try and buy organic nut and seed or organic peanut butter. They’re a lot creamier and usually have a layer of oil on top you need to stir each time you use it.
