Hello and a Happy Saturday to you!
I don’t pop in on the weekends too often, but I am feeling super go-go-go today, so… why not?
With an extra pup around, I get the privilege of waking up earlier than normal to let them out. We are so spoiled with Roadie, as he lets us sleep in until whatever time. The last few days, however, there has been no need for an alarm clock, since we have a bright eyed and furry one named Macy.
I’m not complaining though. It’s not even Noon and I have had a very productive day!
It started with a morning walk with the dogs. I had thoughts of going for a run outside since it’s “warming up” in the thirties this weekend, but decided to hold off and make myself breakfast instead.
I hadn’t had eggs in a while so it was time to revisit them.
Over breakfast, I pulled up my email and got the urge to purge.
Unsubscribing to Unnecessary Emails
Every single morning, I wake up and immediately get annoyed by having to delete at least ten or fifteen emails I have no intention of reading. The majority of them are from accidentally subscribing to an email list that includes online or in-store shopping. Why I continue to keep them coming to my mailbox just so I can turn around and delete them is beyond me!
So, I figured it was time to trim the fat. I spent a good fifteen minutes unsubscribing myself from all of those stores and felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders when I was finished.
(I actually like receiving Hautelook deals, but am using this photo as an example.)
In the process, I also noticed that I am still signed up for local deals (Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Local) as an Orlando resident. Yeah, let me go right ahead and sign up for that pottery class in Winter Park tomorrow… ?
For the next half hour, I went through each deals site and changed my location and interest settings. I actually miss getting deals on restaurants and events that are near me and am looking forward to hopefully getting out and doing more in the Detroit area as a result.
The final part of my email sorting this morning was contacting Panera. How many of you have a My Panera card?
And out of those people, how many of you have activated your card to your My Panera Account to rack up points? How many of you have the card, but haven’t activated it, and have visited a Panera without gaining points at least thirty times.
This girl right here! (Whoops.)
Seriously. What is that? Why have I waited SO long to activate the stinking card? I know I have attempted a couple of times in-store and there was a problem with my account information, or the screen froze, or something… but regardless, there is no excuse for having the card unactivated in my possession for as long as I have.
With a simple phone call, I now have a new, activated card being sent to me in the mail. Doy.
Total Body Blast Workout
Boarding the productive train, I felt like getting in a workout directly after the email sorting. Without the presence of warm sunshine, running outside sounded less than thrilling, so I headed over to the computer and streamed another Ballet Beautiful workout free, through my Amazon Prime subscription.
This time I completed the (little over an) hour long Total Body Blast workout that consisted of 4 fifteen minute segments to target all of the major muscle groups.
I also had a furry partner in crime to help me with stretches.
Holy geez, was I feeling the burn with this one. As a former barre instructor and dancer, I felt like I had an advantage to this style of workout, but the ever so lovely Mary Helen Bowers proved me wrong. It was freaking hard!
Currently, I am sitting here typing, jello legs and burning arms in tow. Nothing like a full body burn to kick off the weekend!
Well friends, with an anxious husband awaiting, I must get upstairs and get ready for the day ahead. We have plans to take advantage of some free time with a trip to the Farmer’s Market along with the usual weekend shenanigans.
Have a great one!
Questions of the Day
• Are you a currently subscribed to receive emails from companies you have no interest in?
• What is your favorite type of workout to complete on the weekends?
If your answer to the first question is yes, why? Do yourself a favor and spend fifteen minutes sorting through all the “junk” email filling up your mailbox.
At the bottom of each one, you will see a link to unsubscribe and you can cease those emails from ever coming back with a click of a button! Seriously. That’s it. I promise, the feeling of reward is so worth it!

Have you tried unrollme.com? It’s a way of cleaning out your inbox by getting one email a day instead of those 15. You can unsubscribe from them all there too. Super easy!
Heather
I haven’t! What a great concept! Thanks for the info 🙂

That’s exactly what I came hear to say!!

I love Tone It Up workouts and yoga on the weekends. 🙂
Heather
Yes! I need more yoga in my life!

I so so so need to unsubscribe to emails! I end up just deleting them as compared to taking two seconds more to go unsubscribe. :/ eventually! Haha.
Heather
Haha I’ve been doing that for years! 😉

I used unroll.me to unsubscribe from soooo many companies in less than 5 minutes a few weeks ago. I’d really recommend it if you get caught up in too many subscriptions again! Life is so much better now that I know when I get an email it probably pertains to something I’m interested in!
Heather
Great tip, thank you!

I like to take advantage of all of the classes available at the gym on the weekend. I actually didn’t make it there today, though, because we took the dog for a hike outside in the nice weather instead. (I definitely understand when you say you want to get outdoors!)
Heather
Aw, hikes with the fam and pups are the best! Have a great weekend!

I have to start unsubscribing from all of my emails too! I get so many every day that I simply delete.

I did the same thing recently with my email lists. Although, I will give you a tip if you are interested. i recently moved from SC to NYC, but keep two of the deal sites (Groupon and Living Social) to scope out deals to use as presents back home. My Dad got one for Christmas this year. (He doesn’t mind that I’m thrifty!)
And with Panera, I signed up online and they gave me an account code. It was right around my birthday so I got a birthday freebie and another for signing up. When I went to the store to get them to give me a card to go with my code, it deleted my freebies. Boo!
Heather
Great tip to keep both! I actually kept a weekly email for Orlando, just in case. 😉

Unroll.me, sooooo easy
Heather
Thanks! 🙂

The MyPanera card is fantastic, especially if you’re a frequent visitor like I am! Free cookies? I’m there.
