Good morning!
First and foremost, I want to say a little thank you for the weekly support and interest in sharing your Friday Favorites on the link-up.
While Fridays used to be my day for catching up on blog comments and such, I now spend the day before the weekend working at the gym and check in when I can. I try my best to unplug on the weekends, so I don’t get to click over and comment on a lot of your posts like I used to. Please know that I see them, and I truly love each and every one of you that take the time to participate, write, and share your own favorites every Friday! <3
Now that we’ve addressed that, let’s move on to some weekend highlights.
Amanda’s Bachelorette Party
Bachelorette parties are so much fun.
While most of my childhood friends tied the knot years ago, a whole new batch of friends I’ve met in Michigan are preparing to get married this summer and later this year. It’s been so great to be a part of the wedding process again, and I am excited for the beautiful couples and brides-to-be I get to celebrate leading up to the big days.
This weekend called for a celebration for Amanda!
I met Amanda shortly after we moved up to Michigan, danced with her for a year and a half, and our friendship continues to grow inside and out of our weekly bible study.
Coming straight from her hair and makeup trial (genius idea… I scheduled my makeup trial the day of my bridal shower, too!), she might just have been the prettiest bachelorette who ever bachelorette-ed. She looked gorgeous!
Saturday night, a group of thirteen ladies all dressed in black met her at her mother’s house to kick the night off with food and presents. It’s always entertaining to see what gifts show up to a party honoring a bachelorette.
(Isn’t that banner adorable?)
Amanda’s Maid of Honor did a fantastic job organizing, decorating, and hosting the night of festivities. As Amanda took her time opening presents, we cut the cake and played a handful of games that ended with a set of gifts for the party guests as well.
Around 9 p.m., the party really began with a drive over to Royal Oak in a limo!
I have been in a limo similar to this one a few times, so it was great to see the excited reactions from some of the girls who had never had the experience before.
We may look like a large group, but don’t worry…
We all knew where to find each other with these temporary tattoos. Aren’t they cute? Here is a whole page of them if you are interested in branding your bridal party with a similar saying. 😉
Our party arrived in Royal Oak a good twenty minutes or so before our scheduled bingo reservation at Five 15.
It wasn’t just a regular game of bingo, either. Five 15 is a coffee and gift shop by day that features Drag Queen Bingo on weekend nights. You definitely have to go into the shop with an open mind and group of friends to laugh with!
Our host(ess) was hilarious. Any time someone won a round of Bingo, they had to go on stage to get roasted. I haven’t laughed that hard for two straight hours in forever. It was such a blast!
After bingo, we rode in style over to Downtown Rochester to finish the night at Main Street Billiards.
We had a great time dancing the night away, and before we knew it, it was time to head back to the limo and home.
Amanda’s wedding is just 18 days away! It’s crazy to see how fast time flies when your friends are planning their weddings and all of the events leading up to it. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your special night, Amanda!
Kruse & Muer Roadhouse
I was looking forward to having some downtime with Scott on Sunday. After church, we joined a group of friends for lunch at Kruse & Muer Roadhouse in Lake Orion.
We have visited this restaurant before, but never to dine-in. The environment was very nice and welcoming.
I’m sure there is plenty of delicious choices on the menu to choose from, but I have never gotten past the house salad and speciality pizzas. The appetizer bread (and breading on the pizza) is some of the best I’ve ever had!
We ordered the Red Wing pizza that came with spinach, pineapple, grilled chicken, red pepper, artichokes, garlic butter & cheese (<- so good!) as well as a meat-lovers with pepperoni, ham, and bacon. We will most certainly be back to try more!
After we left the restaurant, Scott and I spent the afternoon running errands and stopped into Target on the way home. I picked up a patriotic swimsuit for next weekend since we will be having some friends in town and are looking for something fun to do on a lake or boat.
( & )
**Michigan friends!!** Where is a good spot can we can hang on a lake and rent a boat for a day? Fourth of July fireworks would be an added bonus. The west part of the state? I’m trying to plan something for a group of 6+ of us to do, and you guys always have the best suggestions!
I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning the house and getting ready for company this week. I took a break to get outside with Roadie right before dinner time, and we made an easy-paced three mile loop around the trails.
It was so nice out! #Sundayrunday
I just can’t get enough of that mug. He’s the best running buddy with the funniest faces!

All right, friends, I better go. I have a full eight hour shift at the gym to get to, so if I don’t see you later on this afternoon, you’ll know why.
I hope you have a great start to the week. Happy Monday!

I love the tattoos and the bikini. Looks like you had a great weekend.
Heather
Thanks Jill! That I did, I hope you’re having a great week so far!
Ellen
Good for you for taking some time to unplug! I think most of us could use a little more of that, and it’s great that you’re doing what’s best for you 🙂
Your weekend looks so fun, and that pizza looks seriously incredible.
My weekend highlight was time at a family reunion, catching up with family members and swinging in the sunshine! Have a wonderful Monday, Heather!
Heather
I used to try and work all throughout the weekend, but eventually you get really burnt out. I’ll work on things here and there, but very rarely do I log on to blog unless it’s Mon. – Fri. That’s always been the best balance for me! Family reunions are fun, I’m glad to hear you had a great weekend as well 🙂

Silver Lake is gorgeous and I’m pretty sure you can rent boats and jet skis there, in addition to dune buggies if you’re looking for west-side: http://silverlakesanddunes.net/wave/
Closer to home is: jet ski / fly board rentals for Lake St. Clair: http://turbowatersports.com/rates.htm

The temporary tattoos are brilliant!
One highlight from the weekend was my boyfriend finally coming home from a two week stint out of town for work.
Heather
Aw, enjoy your time with him!

Love those tattoos for the bachlorette party! I think that’s a really fun use of them. Cute new bikini. I am excited for 4th of Juy fireworks soon too. Have a great week, Heather!

Thanks Lauren! We are hoping to find a great fireworks show to see up here. I hope you enjoy the week!

What a fun, well planned Bachelorette party!! I love the tattoos! I almost bought that bathing suit the other day at Target!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West
Those tattoos are awesome! We did flash tattoos for a recent bachelorette party I attended in Key West, but these are cute too. Glad you had fun and how nice to have a whole new group of weddings to attend. Love it! Happy Monday!
Heather
Flash tattoos? I’m not sure I know what those are. I’m sure they were adorable!

I love your and Alex’s dresses! So pretty! Where did you get yours? And do you know where she got hers? I love the mesh! So sexy but elegant! Looks like a blast!
Heather
Thanks! Actually, it was a gift from a friend but I’m pretty sure she got it from LuLu’s –> http://www.lulus.com/. Alex’s is from Forever 21!
