Hello, and Happy Hump Day!
Let’s celebrate by diving right into another edition of What I Ate Wednesday.
(Have no idea what WIAW is all about? This post breaks it down!)
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
I had a great little Tuesday. After I published my morning blog post, I hurried off to a 9 a.m. massage appointment I was really looking forward to. I had to reschedule it twice, so you better believe I was soaking it all in!
Feeling refreshed, I walked over to Panera and waited for Scott to pick me up. He had a 9 a.m. physical therapy appointment right down the road, so we carpooled together. (He just got word that he has a torn labrum on his shoulder… the same injury he had to have surgery for on the other shoulder three years ago. We’re hoping he can avoid surgery this time, so he’s staying on top of his 2-3 visits a week therapy schedule as long as possible. Fingers crossed!)
I had no problem killing time with a delicious breakfast sandwich and coffee while I waited.
Turkey Sausage, Egg White & Spinach Breakfast Power Sandwich (add avo!)
That kept me pretty content throughout the morning and early afternoon while I worked on the computer. I started getting hungry around 2 p.m., so I leashed Roadie up for a quick run around the neighborhood before lunch.
It was definitely warmer than we have been used to, so we took our time on a two mile loop and even rested under the shade for a portion of it. I could tell he was struggling to stay cool, so we spent a good five minutes laying in the grass to cool down before jogging the last half mile home. He’s such a trooper!
I’m also testing out a new running watch I will be sharing more about soon. (Psst… there may or may not also be a giveaway involved!) Just ignore the fact that I thought it was July when I programed it. (Wow.)
As soon as we got inside, I led Roadie to his water and tackled two rounds of the Bodyweight Pilates Core Workout I shared yesterday. I only had enough time to get through two circuits, but it was still killer!
I was pretty hungry after that, so I went straight towards the refrigerator to make a cool and refreshing smoothie for lunch.
I grabbed whatever fruit needed to be used up, added a packet of About Time whey protein and went to town! I had enough for two full glasses, so I included the extra serving in my picture since I happily gulped it all down.
Strawberries, blueberries, grapes, banana, vanilla whey protein, almond milk, and ice
I quickly rinsed off and got ready for work in a flash. Knowing I would be working at the gym for a few hours, I made sure to bring snacks with me to keep me satisfied once the fullness from the smoothie wore off.
(Does that ever happen to anyone else? I’m pretty sure I could eat an entire meal an hour later.)
Peach & Mango Vita Coco coconut water (<- delish), Dark Chocolate Blue Diamond Almonds & Key Lime Pie Larabar
I snacked in between two appointments and one class, then felt ready to eat my arm by the time Scott picked me up to meet some friends for dinner! Instead of going out to eat, I was informed that dinner was coming to us, and that was totally fine by me! #hellosweatpants
Less than an hour later, our friends Adam and Natalie arrived with a buffet of Chinese food. We all made our own plates, and I went back for an (unpictured) eggroll and fortune cookie after I finished this one.
It wasn’t long before we realized Game 3 of the NBA Finals was on, so we moved the party over to the couch. I know the championship will go to either the Golden State Warriors or the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it took me a minute to realize LeBron is a part of The Finals again. That’s annoying. (He’s a fantastic player, I’m just not a fan of his dramatics…)
While watching the game, I fell asleep on the couch about three times before I realized I needed ice cream to keep me awake. That’s always a good plan, right?
So Delicious Dairy Free Cookie Dough Coconut Milk Ice Cream
(Say that three times fast.)
I’m embarrassed to say I went upstairs to take a shower (<- any other 2x a day shower takers out there?), and crawled into bed shortly after, wet hair and all. This Floridian turned Michigander must not be used to this warm weather! It sure is making me tiiiiiiiired.

Please note: What I Ate Wednesday features an entire day of my unfiltered eats. In no way do I change what I eat just for the sake of documenting it. While I try to be mindful with portions, I don’t count calories. I do, however, take into account how much activity I am going to be doing that day, and I plan my meals and snacks accordingly.
Question of the Morning
• What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?
It might seem depressing in the winter time, but I still have Orlando temps right next to my Rochester Hills temps on my weather app. I’m happy to report we are finally experiencing weather that is more desirable (in the 70s) up here! It only took 8 months… 😉
Hillary | Nutrition Nut on the Run
It’s HOT here! Triple digits.
Heather
Oh geez, my freezing MI self can’t even remember what that feels like!
Heather@hungryforbalance
That So Delicious “ice cream” is so, so good!!
And yes, when I drink a smoothie, I am hungry, like a minute later.
Weather down here in Tennessee is 90 degrees and HUMID!
Heather
Haha, glad to hear it’s not just me then! Ahh, we will be passing through TN next week driving to Arkansas to see Scott’s family. Can’t wait to see the scenery!

That breakfast sandwich looks amazing! I’ve been loving About Time lately too. Have you had the Birthday Cake flavor? It’s awesome in pancakes. 🙂
Heather
YES! That Birthday Cake flavor is my fave. That in pancakes?? You’re a genius!
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul
Mmm I love Panera! I need to try that breakfast sandwich! It looks yummy!
Heather
It’s delicious! I couldn’t decide between the avo, egg white & spinach or turkey sausage egg white & spinach… so I got the latter and added avo. Problem solved! 😉
Amanda @ Slimplify Life
I neeeed to try that Cookie Dough Coconut Milk Ice cream! I’m reaching for it through my computer screen 😉
Heather
Haha, you should have some of mine so I don’t eat it all in one sitting! 😉
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment
It is pretty hot here too. All the more reason to eat coconut ice cream – am I right?
Heather
DEFINITELY!! 😉
cleaneatingveggiegirl
Coconut milk ice cream is the best! I honestly think I might like it better than ice cream made with dairy!
Heather
I go back and forth. Some dairy ice cream brands and flavors just can’t be beat… but others I don’t miss the dairy at all. I love that there are substitutions like coconut milk out there!
Gretchen | Gretchruns
We’re getting a heat wave right now in Pittsburgh and it’s 90 right now! I have a race Friday night and the high is in the 90’s so that should be interesting….
I really want to to try that ice cream! I’ve been trying to find that kind for so long and can’t find it ANYWHERE!!
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries
Not only has it been HOT here (high 90’s to low 100’s), but also unusually humid for this time of year! Us Phoenicians are NOT used to it!
I’m with you on LeBron’s antics… Cody and I were just talking about that last night during the game! Drama KING!
Arman @ thebigmansworld
always add the avocado! ahh the weather in NY is temperamental but I can’t complain…seeing as it’s freezing in Australia!
Heather
Freezing in Australia? That just sounds impossible! lol.
Emily Swanson
The weather is rainy. 🙂 And sunny, alternately. 🙂

I am loving smoothies right now as well. The weather here has been hot and humid.
