Hello, hello! How’s the Hump Day going so far?
Mine’s booming with excitement over here. First, more rain clouds and drizzles, then another vet appointment for the grey kitty.
Good news, though, Aspen is officially free of the ear infection she’s been fighting on and off for over a year now. She somehow acquired a sore on her gum from her recent dental cleaning, but that should go away in the next couple of days with a topical medicine.
That kitty always has something, I tell ya.
But, three cheers for (hopefully) being done with vet visits until October!
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
Since it is Wednesday, today I will be sharing my full day of Tuesday eats with you for What I Ate Wednesday.
I know, I know, you’re super curious. No worries, friends… I got you. (And if you’re not, then hopefully you at least enjoy bright pictures of food. Because that’s what’s coming!)
Breakfast came together quickly with a big yogurt bowl you probably already saw yesterday.
Blueberry Acai Fage Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries, blackberries, Bear Naked granola and hemp hearts with coffee.
That seemed to hold me over until about Noon, when I decided to grab a snack instead of lunch. I went for the other half of last week’s mini melon and actually sliced it up this time. (Kind of.)
That curbed my hunger until lunch, which happened almost two hours later. Good thing I had leftovers to turn too… I got really hungry really fast.
Yup. That’s totally two combined salads. One part leftover Mediterranean salad (romaine, chicken, kalamata olives and tomatoes) + baby spinach + leftover Chipolte salad also from Monday.
(Chipolte salad = Romaine lettuce, brown rice, black beans, grilled chicken, mild salsa, medium salsa, corn salsa, and cheese.)
Surprisingly, I only felt full for a minute and found myself perusing the refrigerator about an hour later for a pre-gym snack.
I recently received a shipment from my friends over at SOYJOY (<- keep a look out for a fun giveaway coming up Monday!) and decided to cut up a berry fruit soy bar and enjoy it mixed in with Fage Cherry Greek yogurt.
Because apparently I didn’t have enough of that already for breakfast. (?)
That kept my belly happy through one heck of a session at the gym. Scott and a few other friends joined me for Fitness Pilates, and since we arrived early, I had about fifteen minutes to break a cardio sweat first.
Remembering how much it kills me, I hopped on the Stairmaster and just about died after upping the levels five minutes later.
Seriously, that machine is crazy. I felt more winded from fifteen minutes on it then I ever have running five miles on the treadmill! Yowza.
Dripping sweat (really), I wiped off the machine and made my way into Fitness Pilates for another hour of killer moves. I’m pretty sure my body hated me by 8 p.m. so I took Scott up on his suggestion to kill ten minutes in the hot tub before we left.
That felt amazing, and I kept the detox feeling going by hopping in the steam room for another ten.
The only thing that got me motivated to get dressed and moving again was the thought of these.
A Life Cafe Mocha Madness (organic milk, Mocha Java Boost, whey protein) for Scott and a Whey of Life (organic milk, spinach, pineapple, yogurt, and whey protein) for me.
Unsure if I would be up for cooking anything at all when we got home, we also ordered a Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla to split.
I told you… Chipotle is my life ya’ll.
We made a quick trip to the grocery store on our way home and left with some chocolate goodies to throw into a popcorn snack later. Except, we forgot that our microwave is still broken. That’s a popcorn fail if I’ve ever heard of one.
With a complete pout face, I got over it and enjoyed a small bowl of dark chocolate covered pretzels alongside a glass of organic skim milk.
That’ll do, Donkey. That’ll do.
And there you have another edition of WIAW. I hope you enjoy these random (yet weekly) food musings, and also that you have a great rest of your Wednesday!
Anddd (spoiler alert!) I have something pretty exciting to share with you guys. I’m hoping to pop back in this afternoon, but if not that cat will be out of the bag tomorrow morning. See ya soon!

You should try popping popcorn on the stove, no nasty chemicals from the popcorn bag and it doesn’t require a microwave!

Is it bad that I rarely buy watermelons because I have the MOST difficult time cutting them up? That is one fruit that I will usually splurge on to have pre-cut. Maybe I just really stink at cutting them and need to learn from others! 😉 haha
