Good morning friends, and Happy Monday!
I hope you are all coming off of a great weekend. We had a fabulous time at a cookie decorating party on Saturday, and I’ll be back to cover the highlights later this week. For now, let’s continue on with this year’s edition of Holiday Gift Guides.
We’re only 11 days from Christmas, y’all!
Previous 2015 LIL Gift Guides include:
• Gift Ideas For Fitness Lovers
Today’s list is all about the foodies and entertainers in your life.
Are you shopping for someone who loves to bake, cook, and/or host dinner parties? Here’s what I’ve been loving and also what’s on my wish list in the kitchen department.
• wine aerator
We were gifted this last Christmas, and we love it!
Wine aerators are used to enhance the flavor of wines. Wines, particularly red, often benefit from aeration to allow the fruit to shine through and the flavors to mellow out. We always reach for the aerator when we go for a nicer bottle. They make great gifts!
• fancy dish towels
Whether they are a part of the kitchen decoration (I always have an ironed un-used set hanging on my oven) or actually used to dry dishes, a nice set of them is a gift that a lot of foodies in your life would appreciate.
My favorite places to find fancy dish towels are at , Tag, and .
• mini blender
Mini blenders like the NutriBullet are perfect for making smoothies in a rush, and even whipping easy dips together for a party. I love that they come with portable blender cups you can add twist a top on and take with you! Plus, the clean up couldn’t be easier.
(You can find this exact model currently on sale for , – also- and !)
• kitchen candle(s)
I’m pretty confident in saying most foodies/entertainers would love getting a nice candle as a gift, especially if they like to spend a decent amount of time in the kitchen. I always light a candle when I know I’m going to be cooking. It helps me relax and truly enjoy the experience!
For years, I have been all about these three-wick candles at Bath & Body Works. My all time favorite scent is Mahogony Teakwood when I am not in the mood for something seasonal. I also highly recommend Rewind and Yankee candles.
Try searching for steals!
• champagne glasses
How cute are these glitter glasses?
Francesca’s Glitter Champagne Glasses
While most foodies already own a set of wine glasses, champagne glasses aren’t as common. I love the idea of purchasing stemless glasses, too. (They seem much more comfortable to serve at dinner parties and get togethers.) Find a set of two, four, or even six+ like , these, and these (<- love the modern design).
• cute apron
I own a small collection of adorable aprons (mostly from gifts), and I’d be lying if I said they didn’t motivate me to bake something from time to time. I received my very first one as a bridal shower gift from Anthropologie, and I have been admiring their entire line ever since!
Aren’t they adorable? You can find similar styles at stores like Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls, too.
• Wusthof steak knife set
Does the foodie your shopping for have a good set of steak knives? We received (on sale for $99!) over the holidays a few years ago, and after collecting a few others, I’m convinced that Wusthof is the best.
It’s nice to have a matching set of quality knives when we have dinner parties, and I love that we can keep them clean and displayed on our countertop. If you’re looking to stay more on a budget, check out this set, this set, or this set.
• Keurig brewing system
I personally don’t own a Keurig, but it’s perfect for entertaining. Guests can choose a cup of coffee, tea, or hot flavored beverage any time throughout the night. I’ve enjoyed using a Keurig at work, and I always appreciate the variety when I’m at someone else’s home who has one. I’ve heard great things about the Keurig 2.0 K550!
This version is on sale for $119, too.
• a new cookbook
While the Internet and world of Pinterest makes it easy to access delicious recipes in seconds, there’s something special about an old fashioned cookbook. One of these days I’m going to cook an entire book full of recipes, I swear.
I always see a lot of great options in home good stores, and I get tempted to bring them home for instant inspiration.
On my wish list:
– Thug Kitchen: The Official Cookbook
– The Skinnytaste Cookbook: Light on Calories, Big of Flavor
– One Pot: 120+ Easy Meals from Your Skillet, Slow Cooker, Stockpot, and More
– Seriously Delish: 150 Recipes for People Who Totally Love Food
• cake stand
There are countless times when I wish I had a cake stand to display a fancy dessert or cake for a special occasion at get togethers.
There are also many different looks, colors, and price points to choose from. I adore the collection picture above, and I’m also loving this, this, this one (<- great value) and these.
More ideas:
» gourmet hot chocolate, specifically from Williams-Sonoma (so good!)
» a for your cookbook (on my wish list)
» a garlic mincer (we use this all the time)
» a specialty olive oil(s) and vinegar(s) set. My favorite company is EVOO!
» a knife sharpener, there’s the fancy sharpening machines, a simple blade and handle, or something like this in between
» silicone oven mits and pot holders
» a salad spinner (we use ours religiously) – also check out here, here (<- fancy stainless steel) and here (<- under $10). Genius!
» a mortar & pestle for making dips like hummus and guacamole (we have our eye on this one, and others like this, this, and this one.)
» a really nice wooden spoon – you can never have too many of those
» McClure’s Bloody Mary Mix – (a Detroit/Brooklyn product with minimal ingredients and the best we’ve ever tried) (!)

I hope this list helps you as you set out to look for thoughtful gifts for loved ones. Please feel free to share some of your gift ideas for foodies and entertainers in the comments below.

I need a cute apron. Great list!

Thanks Jenn, I know… I could easily buy all of them 😉
Jen @ Pretty Little Grub
I like cookbooks too. There’s something about flipping through a cookbook and not having to constantly touch the screen to keep it so you can see the recipe!

Agreed! I hate having my laptop or phone set up on my kitchen counter while I’m cooking and always having to unlock it or bring it back to life when my hands are a mess.
Alyssa @ renaissancerunnergirl
I want fancy dish towels and also a larger slab to do food photography with!

That would be a great present for any blogger! Love it.
Julia @ South by Northwest
I also collect aprons. I’m forever lusting after Anthropologie’s.
Heather
It’s the best collection I’ve seen around! Even though I feel like it’s gotten smaller… every one is super cute.
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me
I just got into candles, and now I want them all! I love the idea of having specific ones for the kitchen. So many wonderful smells to choose from. Hope you’re having a lovely Monday, Heather!

We’re completely guilty of filling the house with candles. I love unwinding at the end of the day with a lit candle or two. They smell great and always help me to relax!

I don’t believe in gift giving but because gift giving is turning more into gift exchange ( and people make more importance on the cost of the gift and not about the sentiments associated with the gift and spirit of festivals) but I loved all these gift ideas. Out of all the gifts, you have mentioned in this post I love the electronic tea maker ( beverage maker ) and I loved it so much that I will first gift it to myself . I don’t think we have this brand here but I will look out for alternatives ( If available )

Beth @ Sublimely Fit
Loving this list, especially because I know I’m getting a Nutribullet for Christmas. (My hubby did a terrible job of hiding the box in his car after buying it–immediately saw it as I stepped out of my car when I got home.) Just a few more days and I get to test it out! Hoping that thing pulverizes kale, something my current Magic Bullet isn’t so great at.

Oh yay! Enjoy the “secret” surprise! I totally know what you mean about the kale. Luckily, our Ninja blender does work!
