Good morning, friends! Are you looking forward to the weekend as much as I am?
Scott and I have a few fun plans on the radar including a cookie decorating party (sounds lame, but it’s super fun and competitive), and making Christmas shopping a date night later tonight. Any exciting things on deck for you?
As soon as I publish this post, I’m off to my last day (for now) at the barre studio. I’m doubling up by taking heated barre and then yoga, so I’m sure I will return a hot and sweaty mess!
Below you will find a handful of things that made me smile this week. Each week, I cover a different set of Friday Favorites, and I always invite you to join in on the party by utilizing the comments and link-up sections below. Happy Friday!
Friday Favorites #119: Week of 12/11
• Tiffany & Co. glasses
I have to admit that I’m getting pretty spoiled in the glasses department. Thanks to a recent campaign with LensCrafters, I was able to bring these beautiful Tiffany & Co. frames (with an updated prescription) home with me after an exam.
While I love a traditional black or brown frame, I couldn’t get past the “tiffany blue” and side accents on this pair.
I can’t find this exact style online (maybe because it’s brand-spanking new?), but this and is similar. I had a fabulous experience at LensCrafters, and I will be back early next week with a full recap.
For now, I’ll just be here feeling fancy and wearing my new frames. (Obsessed!)
• kiwis (with a spoon)
I just love kiwis. I don’t always think to eat them, however, because it takes some effort to cut the skin and slice one up. By the time it’s ready to eat, I somehow manage to shrink it down to about half the size! That is, however, until Scott suggested that I cut one in half and eat it with a spoon.
Genius. Maybe that’s why the kiwi is holding a spoon on the sticker? If you’ve never tried eating a kiwi this way, give it a go! It may be a little messy, but it sure beats trying to slice one if you’re the only one eating it. You get the most out of it if you scoop it like ice cream. It sounds crazy, I know, just trust me.
• Listerine whitening pre-brush rinse
I haven’t whitened my teeth in years. My number one trick to keeping a bright, white smile (besides being a regular brusher and flosser) is to use Listerine Whitening Mouthwash before I brush my teeth in the mornings. There are a few different versions of it, and I usually go for one that restores by protecting my enamel.
Since brushing only cleans about 25% of your mouth (read more about that and the benefits of using mouthwash!), I’ve been an avid pre-brush rinser since high school. While I’ve worked with Listerine before, this portion is anything but sponsored. I just love, love this product!
• Julep nail polish
My friend Brittany gave me these two Julep nail polishes when I visited her in Arizona.
(Pictured is Aubrey, left, and Rooney, right)
I’d never heard of Julep nail polishes before, but you can find them online or at beauty suppliers like and . While they seem a little pricey for the bottle size, I started thinking of how often my regular sized bottles dry up. I never get to the bottom!
What’s special about the brand is the Oxygen Technology, which uses a 5-free, vegan-friendly formula that also includes strengthening Hexanal and antioxidant green coffee extract. I really like the color selections of this brand, and I will make sure to check it out more in the future.
• white & black bean hummus
If you’ve been reading this blog for a hot minute, then you have probably picked up on my love for hummus. It’s just so good. I’ve been all about the bean flavors lately!
Two of my new favorite flavors are the Tuscan White Bean with Pine Nut and Sweet & Spicy Black Bean Hummus from Eat Well. I always find a great selection of this brand and others at Target.
• Florida Christmas ornaments
We’ve received a handful of Christmas ornaments that represent our life in Florida over the years. They usually come from family members (Scott’s mom gifted us a whole collection of salt water fish, alligators, and flamingos), and the two featured below came up with my mom on her latest visit.
(both purchased at Kohl’s)
I love seeing sea shells and flamingos on our tree, especially on those colder days. If we can’t go home for Christmas, at least we can bring a little home to us. Thanks, Mom!

I only had enough time to hunt down one today, so I figured I’d make it a good one…

Oh my gosh, that family has some serious talent… or too much time on their hands 😉 Your cookie decorating party sounds like a blast – I’m totally someone that would enjoy a thing like that. I’m also obsessed with your new glasses. The detail and hint of blue are so much fun! Have a great weekend!

Haha, I think so too. I mean, even the dog got in on that card. Hilarious. I’m excited for the cookie party! Thanks so much for linking up!
Those glasses are so cute! As someone who has to wear glasses or contacts I love when I find a pair that I actually like wearing. Also the kiwi and spoon thing….someone told me about that a few years ago and I couldn’t believe I had been doing it the hard way for so many years. It’s like changing haha.
Right? It’s like where has this been all my life… DUH. Happy Weekend!
Love the new Frames!!! So cute! I got new frames last year, so many next year I can snag another new pair.
Have a great weekend 🙂

Haha, right? It doesn’t last very long around our household with a bag of pita chips or fresh cut veggies. I love using it on veggie wraps, too!
Love those glasses! I like that they’re plain so that you can wear them with normal outfits day in and out, but have a little fun! My husband goes to LensCrafters and I was drooling over the Tiffany & Co ones when we went last, but sadly I don’t need glasses hahaha

Thanks Morgan! Aww, it might be for the best… I love my glasses! But, they can certainly get pricey (especially keeping up with ever-changing prescriptions) 😉
I just had that white bean hummus for the first time and I loved it! Will have to try the black bean one next 🙂

Right? It’s so good. You’ll love the black bean flavor, too. Also, try the yellow lentil!
Those glasses are so fabulous. And that flamingo ornament! Who doesn’t love a good kitschy ornament?! Scrooges, that’s who.

Thanks Ellen! I appreciate you linking up. Have a great weekend!
The cookie decorating party sounds so fun! Also, the best way I have learned to peel a kiwi is using a SPOON! Basically you cut a little off the ends and slide a spoon right under the skin and take it around the kiwi. Then you have a whole kiwi to eat! I was frustrated like you on how to eat a kiwi without butchering it, then I googled it and that method works like a charm.
I’m excited for it, and I heard that last year got really competitive! lol. Wow, I need to try your strategy, thanks for sharing!
Those glasses are so stinkin’ cute on you! I love them!

Hi Heather! Cute favorites! It’s great to kick a Friday off with a double-header exercise session, so nice job on that. And I LOVE you in those glasses. Sometimes I wish I needed glasses just to accessorize heheh Hope you have a great weekend, friend! 🙂
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West recently posted…Friday Favorites: Workout apparel, scents, treats and more
Thanks Ashley! It wasn’t easy, but it was very rewarding. I love the glasses, too. I had Lasik surgery in 2008, but part of me missed getting to accessorize glasses… only sometimes. Luckily, I don’t need to wear these all the time, but just to drive and see things clearly in the distance. Happy Weekend to you!
I always eat my kiwis like that! It is messy but so much less work haha I remember showing that trick to my husband – I had thought everyone ate them that way before hand! Anyway, Happy Friday!!
Alexandra @ My Urban Family recently posted…Friday Favorites Week 18
So funny! I honestly had never heard such a thing. I thought Scott made it up! Haha. Whoops.
Honestly, I just eat the whole kiwi (after washing it) minus the hard end. The skin has so many nutrients in it and it adds a tang to the kiwi flavor. I get a lot of weird looks for it because of the fuzz, but you do the same thing for an apple!
Interesting!! But, I guess you’re right… that’s exactly how we eat apples!
LOVE the glasses! You look good in any frame though 🙂 Have a great weekend!
The glasses are perfect I really loved the color! And I will also try the workout tomorrow!Thank’s for sharing!
