This weekend was jam packed with all sorts of celebrations! Three birthdays, a bridal shower and even a baby sprinkle made my weekend pass by within a blink of an eye.
For those who didn’t know already (much like myself) a Baby Sprinkle is a term used for anything but the first baby shower – for Baby #2, 3, 4 and so on. They are generally smaller, more casual and simply dedicate a few hours to gathering and welcoming a new baby into the family.
Getting to be in my late later twenties now, <- whoa! I have finally accepted that the life changing celebrations and parties are just going to keep on keepin’ on.
And I’m okay with that.
Baby Sprinkle
Like I mentioned above, the baby shower I went to was a very laid back event at a community park. After examining the invitation a few times it looked as though my friend’s husband was going to be there and I asked if I should bring along my other half. She insisted, and not only did I bring Scott, but another wonderful man in my life named Roadie.
When we were about to pull in to the grounds, it literally started sprinkling on this Baby Sprinkle. Here we gooo!
After just a minute or two, we were pleasantly surprised to see the clouds clear and an array of Food Trucks appear out front. Maybe this is something that happens every Saturday and we have just been left out of the loop?
Scott and I want to come back in the next weekend or so to find out and enjoy another afternoon in the park.
Directly after the shower, I high tailed it home to get ready to leave for my next endeavor. Little did I know just how ambitious the afternoon was going to turn out!
Walk of Glory
Anytime someone is registered for a shower, wedding or party, I like to order their gift online and either pick it up in-store or have it delivered to the house if the shipping is included. This eliminates my temptation to prolong the process by being one of the first to order off of the registry, selecting exactly what I had hoped for.
Apparently, I didn’t really think about how big my presents would be in person. I went in on a gift with another bridesmaid, Brittany (who doesn’t live in town), so I had the task of wrapping and walking this life sized gift to its next destination. As you can probably see below, I actually used an entire roll of wedding wrapping paper, and even ran out towards the end.
Luckily, I’m a good improviser and stuck a few beige strips of additional wrapping paper under the striped pattern.
No one will notice right?
Of course not! The only thing people will notice is me walking the half a mile to get to the reception hall with a present the size of my body.
Right?!
You see… I will be the first one to tell you I am not the best parallel parker. Since the party was located in Baldwin Park, I knew I had to grab a spot with plenty of space around it to feel comfortably and successfully parked on the street. When I saw I was only 0.2 miles away, I jumped the gun a little too quickly and grabbed the first spot available.
In a hurry, I lifted and hugged the present, held on tight and started my journey towards Ender’s Place Gathering Hall – wedges and all.
The trip and tight grip was well worth it when I saw Melissa, the beautiful bride-to-be.
She was one of my bridesmaids in our wedding, and we go all the way back to our first dance recital at three years old. When I got there it all became real that she is getting married, and I became an entirely new level of excited for her. The wedding is only two months away!
Her mother and step-mother did a beautiful job putting the entire shower together for her. Not only did her step-mother cook the entire menu, but they took time and detail picking out meaningful decorations for every corner.
I still don’t know the story of the pink and blue piggy banks, but I thought they were adorable too…
One of my favorite components were these “photo signs.” Some were sweet, some were funny, and all were used.
And of course, as soon as I saw them I had to take full advantage of the situation right away.
I didn’t even get to take a snapshot of the food, but it was all wonderful.
Before long it was time for a little bride-to-be embarrassment with a nice round of “How Well Do You Know Your Future Spouse?” Melissa’s fiance, Billy, had previously answered a series of questions she then had to guess how he answered for her.
If she got the answer wrong, she had to then take a shot of this delicious pineapple lime sherbet punch, spiked.
It was very tasty, so I didn’t feel too bad for her.
We have all been there I’m afraid! Remember my Double Bubble situation? No bueno.
After the game, we moved onto gifts and cut into this fantastic strawberry cake, made by her step-mother Gail.

The shower turned out to be a hit, and we had a wonderful evening filled with lots of love…
…and silliness.
There was even a special appearance made by the groom, who came just in time to help load up all of her wonderful gifts. Get on it, Billy!
The party didn’t stop there! After her shower, I kept moving by joining a birthday celebration downtown followed by a fun night spent with this little lady.
Ashley was also a fellow bridesmaid in our wedding, and I was so happy to spend an entire day with some fabulous ladies in my life.
