In just a couple of days, most of us will be gathering and either going to a party or hosting one to watch the big game. I recently partnered with Blue Diamond Almonds to create a collection of game changing snack ideas for you to share and bring along.
If you are looking to contribute something other than a donation to the pizza, wings, and beer fund, here are a handful of crowd pleasing (mostly) lightened-up snack ideas to get you through any exciting game!
• Zen Party Snack Mix
This trail mix was inspired by wasabi & soy sauce flavored almonds. Have you ever tried them before? The almonds have a very bold flavor and pack a punch alone or mixed in with other ingredients. Since I am not usually a huge fan of wasabi, I wanted to tame the intense flavor with complimenting ingredients and create a snack mix that a variety of tastebuds will love!
Ingredients
2 cups rice squares
1 cup Blue Diamond Wasabi & Soy Sauce almonds
1 cup sesame sticks
1 cup cashews
1 cup snap pea crisps
1 cup roasted soy nuts
In a large bowl, combine and gently mix all ingredients. Store in an air tight container to keep fresh!
This quick and easy guacamole recipe can be made completely fresh and from scratch in fifteen minutes.
This little bowl pictured above is only about a fifth of the recipe. Pair any of the dips in this post with white, yellow, or blue corn chips for extra goodness!
This bowl could easily replace the need to bring a dessert like cookies, cake or brownies. This is one of my favorite mixes to whip up before a party and includes some of my preferred sweet treats like teddy grahams, chocolate almonds, Smartpop popcorn, M&Ms, and marshmallows.
This combination gives a little bit of a S’more taste, and I would be lying if I said that I didn’t become a teeny bit addicted to it until it’s gone. Yum!
This homemade salsa dip only calls for fresh ingredients. If you aren’t fond of the spiciness, take out the seeds of the pepper to make it medium or use half of it for a more of a mild heat.
I can’t wait to put another batch of this together!
• Skinny Almond & Pretzel Party Mix
I wanted to create a healthier version of the standard cracker, pretzel, and cheese cracker mix we all know very well as Chex Mix. I thought about adding more ingredients, but I wanted to keep it simple and only have to purchase four bags of goodies to create it. The star of the show here is definitely the smokehouse almonds!
Ingredients
1 cup corn squares
1 cup Blue Diamond Smokehouse almonds
1 cup mini pretzels
1 cup Quaker Popped Cheddar Cheese rice crisps
Combine the cheese rice crisps, pretzels, corn squares, and almonds in a large bowl and keep (sealed) to snack on for weeks!
This queso dip is one of Scott’s signature party foods. You can control the level of spiciness by what kind of Ro-tel tomatoes you buy to make it. This step-up from regular cheese dip is a great (and easy) appetizer to throw together that is sure to go over well with any crowd!
I hope you enjoy noshing on these snacks as much as I do!

Mmmm, both of those party mixes are definitely calling my name! They will be excellent distractions from the (oh so boring) endless football that goes on at university. 😉
Heather

The Blue Diamond Wasabi & Soy Sauce almonds are sooo good! They’re actually too good because I can seriously eat an entire container in one sitting….
Also I love the zen party snack mix! It’s different enough than most mixes and includes sesame sticks, my favorite 🙂
Heather
I love sesame sticks! My mom introduced me to those years ago. We love putting them on salads!
Forrest
What about Scott’s famous Brisket Chili? I think that would make a great game day treat 🙂
Heather
Very true! That one is just a little more labor intensive (we’re taking hours…) hehe, but I’m sure people would love that too! Thanks Forrest 🙂 https://lifeinleggings.com/healthy-eating/award-winning-spicy-brisket-chili/

Good stuff! I like to do cheese, crackers, veggies and fruit, with some hummus, spinach dip and always shrimp cocktail. I’m more of an assembler when it comes to entertaining, but all of that may change as I move into a bigger kitchen!
Heather
Shrimp cocktail – YUM! And congrats on the move into more space!

I love how you added the wasabi and soy sauce almonds to a trail mix with snap peas! That has to be SO delicious!
Heather
I may or may not have been snacking on it all day… 😉

I love party mixes! I am glad you put these ideas up because I am snacker but I want to eat more healthy snacks. So thank you for sharing!
Heather
Woo hoo! Enjoy the snacks. I’m a huuuuge snacker, and there’s nothing wrong with that!
