Hi friends! I hope you are all having a great Hump Day so far. I only have a few minutes to share our weekly What I Ate Wednesday post, so let’s get right down to business.
Have no idea what I’m talking about? Check it out!
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
Breakfast started with an old favorite I posted about earlier this week.
Raspberry Greek yogurt sprinkled in blackberries and Super Oats.
You can’t really go wrong with yogurt, fruit, berries, and something like raw oats, almonds, or cereal flakes for texture. I used to have a version of this exact bowl at the end of my serving shift almost every single day for years!
I left for the gym to teach a small group training class around 9:30 a.m. and returned home about two hours later. I wasn’t quite ready for lunch, so I grabbed anther go-to snack to tie me over.
Clementines with a second cup of coffee.
I rarely have two different cups of coffee these days, but it was needed. I barely slept the night before, so it was for the best.
I packed a bag, grabbed my laptop, and set out to run some errands around 2 p.m. I was pretty dang hungry by then, so I opened the fridge and assembled a veggie loaded salad before I left.
Baby spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, red peppers, carrots, black olives, feta cheese, and diced almonds.
I loved the addition of almonds! I almost forgot how much I like the extra crunch they provide on my salads. I drizzled the same cilantro dressing I shared last week, ate my salad while watching an episode of Friends (best lunch break ever), and headed out for the Jeep dealership to get an oil change.
I ended up waiting for almost an hour, but I was happy to have the downtime and perused Pinterest for dinner ideas which sparked my afternoon blog post. Thankfully, I also found a LUNA protein bar in my purse to help tame my drooling over the computer screen.
The Chocolate Cookie Dough flavor is amazing, FYI.
Want to know what else is amazing? Sunshine!
Yesterday afternoon was the first time I needed my sunglasses in months. Seriously. I can’t believe how much I took a simple delight like sunshine through my window for granted while I was living in Florida. Any sunny day in the winter in Michigan is a great day!
Anyways, that was me hanging in my car for a good thirty minutes trying to put a grocery shopping list together. Please tell me I’m not the only one who does that. The good news is, I left with everything I needed and them some. #success
I walked in the door just after 6 p.m. and was ready to eat my arm. I was so hungry! Lucky for me, dinner was only a few minutes in the microwave away.
Leftovers: veggie & whole wheat pasta with ground turkey marinara sauce
Scott was busy working a Pistons game, so I had a few hours to catch up on emails and prepare material for upcoming posts. I wanted to get in a workout, but I didn’t want to spend much time figuring out what to do or actually working out since I was still sore from my workout the day before!
I put together a quick under 10 minute mini-circuit and hopped in the shower directly after.
The pasta did a great job at keeping me full, so I poured a tall glass of dark chocolate almond milk before when I got downstairs and went back upstairs for bed shortly after.
Yum!
That pretty much sums up an entire day of eating around here. I think I am finally back in the groove of eating close to my normal healthy balance again. It feels great!
If you’re ever curious to see what another complete day of meals and snacks looks like for me, this is just one of the many examples you can find exploring the “WIAW” tag on the right hand sidebar. Questions of the Afternoon
• Do you secretly like the hot sun beating down into your car window too?
• What was the last snack or meal you ate?

Oh my gosh the sunshine is back in Austin and I love needing my sunglasses again! The last thing I had was a smoothie!
I had a smoothie today too 🙂 Yay for sunshine!
Is that like…a mug warmer!?
Yes!! I shared it a while back as a Friday Favorite 🙂 I LOVE IT! https://lifeinleggings.com/holidays/friday-favorites-18-week-of-13/
Winter is so much more tolerable when the sun is out! It’s super sunny down here too.
I always make my list before going inside the grocery store- I have an app I use that I love- if I go in without a plan I just end up buying everything haha.
Everything looks delicious! Especially that chocolate covered cookie dough bar! haha
I love the hot sun in the car. But of course, we don’t have the hot sun in SF, and I don’t have a car. Darn. 🙂
Hehe oh man! You are pretty close to the beach though… so there’s that 😉
Ohh man, sorry it took so long at the dealership but yay for having a snack on hand! And that chocolate almond milk looks so good… I think I need to get on this!
You should! It’s been a staple I have loved close to every night for almost a year now!
I love the heat. Granted it stays pretty warm out here, so it’s easy to find.
That salad looks amazing. Love the mix.
We had a rare grey day here in San Diego. Can’t imagine not having my sunny days so often!
I’m sure everyone in the Northeast is hating on your weather right now. Haha! Thanks for sharing the link to your 10 minute circuit. Heading to check it out =)
YES! I got so excited today when it was sunny enough that I needed to bust out my sunglasses on the drive home from work. It’s amazing how awesome a little sunlight will make you feel!
That salad looks so good! I love salads with lots of “stuff” in them!! 🙂
I love when it’s cold outside and the sun beats down on my window! I’m hoping that happens today so I’m not freezing after I get off work and run some errands!
