It’s Monday! That’s not as exciting to write as it’s Friday, or even Happy Hump Day… but it’ll do. I hope your week is starting out on a good note. Mine is extra sluggish and I’m hoping the pep in my step gets here sooner than later, since I have some serious cleaning and reviewing to do before tonight’s practice and festivities.
<Andddd there goes my cue for afternoon coffee.>
This weekend was a fun one and I feel like I am still recuperating from it. Sometimes you just need a day to readjust and plan to get back into the swing of things!
While looking at my calendar today I got a little excited. There’s nothing too time consuming or out of the ordinary going on this week, which is exactly what I am looking forward to about it. Besides the regularly scheduled practices and workouts, there’s nothing extra written down in the books except for a Michael Buble concert tomorrow night (!!!) and a small pizza party with a few friends tonight.
That’s right. After over a month of hearing “photo shoot, photo shoot, photo shoot” a few of us are celebrating by indulging in pizza and beer (gasp!). I don’t even like beer. I may or may not be having one later, just because I deserve it.
I am a firm believer in allowing a cheat day here and there to be able to balance cravings and keep to a healthy eating lifestyle long term. I also believe this one was more than earned!
With a mostly clear week ahead, I want to take the opportunity to knock out a few things I have been wanting to go for on my “need to try” list. I am choosing to write about it because, well… you seem to enjoy my random musings and if I go ahead and put it out there then I am also held more accountable for actually crossing things off of it. 😉
Need To Try Goals This Week
For starters, yoga. With an incessant need to constantly listen to music and go for long walks, it’s clear that my body is looking to find it’s zen again. This week there will be yoga back in my life.
Second on my list is to make something pumpkin. Really though. It’s time.
Third, get back into creating recipes and cooking… period. Do you remember when I had a new recipe up on the blog each and every Monday? Working on it, friends.
With such a last minute up and down schedule at times, I am nervous to sign up for any kind of official race as of right now. I want to sign up and train for a half marathon so incredibly bad. The only thing holding me back is the possibility of having a rehearsal pop up or a commitment on the day or week leading up to it.
For now, Running a long distance of 8-10 miles is a goal I need to complete this week. While I am not on any kind of running training schedule, I like to push myself and know that I could quickly train for and run a half if the opportunity presents itself. Hopefully the cool weather and new trail loops will help me to get out there and get it done!
Getting organized. That’s a biggie! I feel like I’m still in summer mode and need to make the transition into the “back to school” frame of mind the rest of you are on.
So there you have it. Now that my list is out there publicly, I feel more accountable for attaining my goals. Thank you for listening to them!
Designer Whey Giveaway Winner
Another big THANK YOU going out to all who entered the 1 Year Supply of Designer Whey Giveaway! I was completely blown away by the response and it has to be the most talked about giveaway on the blog yet!
CONGRATULATIONS to…
• Entry #462: Christa @ SitupsNSequins – You won by following @DesignerWhey on Twitter! Here’s Christa’s protein story:
“I literally could not live without my protein powder (I know, so dramatic). I use it for everything- smoothies, protein cookies/muffins and my favorite on-the-go option, homemade protein bars. Protein powder was also a great on-the-go option when I was cheering, because I would go straight to practice from work, and it was so easy to add water, shake and voila, a meal in a cup!”
Please email me at hwglamour@gmail.com with your mailing address to claim your prize! You have 48 hours to do so, or I will be forced to pick another winner.
As for everyone else, don’t be too disappointed. Designer Whey has partnered up with several other bloggers to give you even more chances to win the same incredible prize package. Head on over to Fit Foodie Finds this week to enter another chance to win the 1 Year Supply!
And P.S., Lee comes up with some killer recipes. I could get sucked in for hours just drooling over ’em!
I’m off to clean up and get ready for practice tonight. There’s a hip hop routine recap video calling my name and I’m not even kidding when I say I’m nervous about only having a few hours to go over it and get it in my body confidently. #dancerproblems
See ya tomorrow!
Question of the Day
What is one goal you are determined to reach this week?
Heather Murphy
I always feel the need to ‘organize’ my life when fall is around the corner. It seems like summer is so crazy and routine falls to the wayside!
Heather
Agreed.
Christa @ Situps & Sequins
No way!!! SO excited, thank you!!!! (Not sure it’s normal to be this excited about winning protein powder but hey, I’m ok with it) 😉
Heather
I would be that excited too! 😉 Congratulations!
Alisha @ Alisha's Appetite
Baking something with pumpkin is on my list for the week! I decorated my place fall-like this weekend and feel like it’s not complete until I make my first pumpkin (something) and get my first PSL from starbucks!
Lisa
You looked absolutely GORGEOUS for your photo shoot!! 🙂
Natalie
I am determined to get in my 2 early morning work-outs on Tuesday and Thursday and to do yoga DVDs at home 2x this week also! Ready…go! 🙂
Jillienne @ ChasingRaspberries
Love all the goals you set for the week! I just started doing yoga again! I is amazing for clearing my head and stretching out sore muscles from running.
P.S. You are probably the only person who looks equally gorgeous in both dark and light hair!

My goal is to get organized as well! I need to do a massive Goodwill donation drop and clean out a bathroom full of half empty lotions/shampoos/etc. I also want to get into the habit of taking time to relax each night. I have been go go go and a few minutes of quiet time to do something for me would be really nice 🙂
