Hello! Today I am jumping back onto the What I Ate Wednesday train and have a whole day of eats to share. Except… don’t get too excited this time.
Yesterday was the definition of random in the food department. I almost didn’t put this post together, but decided to do it anyways because that is what they are really all about isn’t it? Not planning one hundred percent of the time?
So yeah. Here you go. My Tuesday filled with absolutely zero planning and trying to roll with it.
What I Ate Wednesday Tuesday
I didn’t end up eating breakfast until I was out the door and on my way to an appearance with HOOPER. With two seconds to spare, I grabbed a tall to-go cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie dough Larabar.
It wasn’t much, but it did the job of holding me over until lunch.
Oh… lunch. Let’s talk about that.
While HOOPER was busy shooting a video at a fire station, I had the task of ordering enough pizzas for everyone then playing delivery girl.
I made sure to sneak in some veggies on one of them, which actually turned out to be a fireman favorite on top of the pepperoni. Muwahahaha.
After I snapped this photo, I also picked up another slice of plain cheese for good measure and finished it off with two small cinnamon dessert sticks.
It had been ages since I even looked at those, so I don’t even feel bad about it.
We finished up the shoot a couple of hours later and I’m excited to see the final product. Here’s a little sneak peek, in case you missed it!
Crazy horse.
I didn’t get home until after 4 p.m. so I went over to the computer for a minute and enjoyed a granny smith apple for a snack.
Scott got home from work right before 6 p.m., and I felt like I might have needed something with a little substance before we left, but I just wasn’t hungry. So I waited.
Off to Fitness Pilates we went, which turned out to be my last class for a while. My membership at our gym expires today, so it’s time for me to branch out and check out some barre studios.
After I get my CPT certification, I hope to get back into teaching group fitness classes again, and I’m just not sure where exactly I want to be. I love, love the intimate feel of a studio, but would also miss access to a big gym if I didn’t have one for other types of workouts and classes.
It will all come together when it’s supposed to, I suppose.
As we wrapped up our goodbyes, Scott and I both wanted dinner, quickly. He was craving chips so I knew the perfect solution for all. Chipotle! Predictably, I ordered the salad and topped it with all-the-things.
This one included brown rice, black beans, chicken, medium salsa, corn salsa, and some sprinkled cheese. No need for dressing!
On the side, I finally ordered chips and guacamole. Seriously… why in the world had I never tried the guac before? It was incredible, and after expressing my enthusiasm via Instagram, a lot of you couldn’t believe it either. If you have never tried the guacamole at Chipotle, do yourself a favor and go… right now.
It’s so fresh and addicting in the best way!
We got home a little after 9 p.m. and spent the rest of the night laying low with a side of SmartPop and almond milk.
I guess I should have been studying but… eh. I kind of stink at that right now. Today starts a new schedule and motivation, promise!
As I a typing this up and looking back on my day of eats, I guess they weren’t all that bad. Pizza isn’t too normal for me, but other than that my appetite has just been kind of off lately. I’m less snack-y, which makes me wonder if the vacation messed up my normal metabolism and eating habits.
For now, I’m just trying to listen to my body and give it what it wants, when it wants it. Always in moderation, of course.
Now I’m off for a day of running around with a trip to the vets. Ahh! I’ll fill you all in later, if I can get back to the computer. Have a great Wednesday!
Question of the Day
• Are you typically a snacker?
Usually my WIAW posts are filled with snacks. There’s always one between all of the major meals, and sometimes even two. I’ve always been one to carry snacks around with me and nibble on them throughout the day. I have heard it’s better to eat smaller, more often, so I’ve never questioned it. Hopefully my body balances itself back out to what it’s used to sooner than later!

I definitely snack on ALL the things. I feel absolutely awful if I eat a huge meal (small stomach I guess) but I need a ton of food during the day! I’m aaalways the girl walking around with 3+ different snacks in her purse. 😉
Heather
My portions seem to be getting smaller too. It’s weird, I get fuller quicker these days. But usually, I make up for it by eating often!
chrissyw
I’m a bigger snacker. I usually eat small meals, but then I snack every few hours.
Heather
That’s usually my pattern too!
Diane
I love your blog! It’s always real and entertaining 🙂
I’m not a big snacker at all! I’ll have a cup of greek yogurt, apple with almond butter or a few chips if I’m feeling hungry. The key is I eat a big lunch!
Heather
Thanks so much Diane! Mmm apples with any kind of butters are so good!
Presley
That settles it. I’m having pizza this week.
Heather
Hey, I’m all for it. Obviously. Sounds like a great CPT present to me!

Love your mindset to just roll with the punches and listen to your body. Like you said, it’ll get back to “normal” soon enough. I think NOT thinking about it too much makes life a lot more fun and less stressful anyways. 😉
Heather
It always does! And yes, I totally agree. Not thinking about it usually helps a ton.
pieceofcaitlin
i am the biggest snacker! i love snacks 🙂
Heather
There are times I only have snacks. Like constantly throughout the day. Is that a problem? 😉
Lauryn
I love reading your WIAW posts because you’re a NORMAL person 🙂 Life is too short to get crazy about food, right? Plus snacks make my world go ’round!
Heather
Ha! Define “normal”… 😉 Thanks!

Isn’t the Chocolate chip Cookie Dough Larabar the best!?! I actually created a copycat recipe and need to make some more now that I think of it 🙂 I try so hard not to be a snacker but ultimately and do good in the mornings but end up snacking away through the afternoon. I’m home more in the afternoons and just get bored.
Heather
It’s SO GOOD! Oh that sounds yummy!
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse
I am not really a huge snacker because I like having big meals, but I definitely eat one if I am hungry between meals.
Sarah
My body gets of weird cycles, but usually snaps out of them quickly and before I know it I’m back to normal. Who knows…the mystery of the “body machine.” 🙂 I admire you for listening to and honoring your body!
Heather
Ha, “”body machine”… thank you!
