Hello strangers!
Apparently, I have a blog that I should log on to and update every once and a while. Instead of making excuses of why I haven’t been fully present lately, I’m just going to own it and tell it like it is. I’m in a bit of a funk, y’all.
I feel like I’m slowly snapping out of it … and I assure you that I’m not planning to log off anytime soon, but I will say that my desire to wake up with the sunrise and type away every morning has faded. For now.
Life has been super confusing over the past six months, and I still feel like I am in a transition-mode while I try and figure everything out.

I’ve never experienced as many life changes as I have in the last year. It seems crazy when you really think about it. For those of you who are newer to the blog and don’t understand what I’m talking about, you can catch up here, here, and here.
So yeah … life is nuts and completely unpredictable. Don’t be confused, however, I’m not complaining. I feel extremely blessed that we live in a beautiful area, we have food on the table every day, and we have somehow learned to survive in one of the most expensive cities out there!
Scott and I have been living in New York for almost two months now, and life is good. I am still interviewing and looking for full-time work, and so is Scott, but he is keeping busy by working nights at a nice restaurant in Manhattan.
I met with a great group of NYC bloggers last night (more on our dinner coming soon!), and meeting them and talking about what exactly I plan on doing here in the city really made me think.
There’s so many avenues I could take and pursue that it’s slightly overwhelming.
A lot of people assume that I will be working in the fitness industry, which isn’t something that I have ruled out. Truth is, I would love to work in a studio environment every day, even full-time. I haven’t been looking in that direction, however, because I have also wanted to pursue what I went to school for (Advertising & Media). There’s really no better place to get into that industry again than here, and that excites me.
Some people ask if I plan on dancing again, and my initial answer is no. Of course there is a distant dream of trying out for the Knicks City Dancers or even audition for The Rockettes (dream big, right?), but I just feel like that ship has sailed. As tempting as that is, I feel like it’s time to move on with a different career.
I currently spend my days applying for jobs, interviewing, meeting friends all over the city, piecing our apartment together, running through the parks, and inadvertently obsessing over what I’m doing … or not doing.
Basically, that translates to doing everything but blogging.
Most days I don’t feel like I have much to post about, which is actually the opposite of reality. We just moved to New York City, so my photo storage on my phone is maxed out from taking pictures of everything we do!
I’m not sure where the upcoming months will bring me, but I sure am ready for them to get here. After taking a small hiatus from the bog, I’m happy that my goal is to get back to regular posting again. I truly love sharing healthy living tips, recipes, workouts, and weekend whereabouts here, and my intention was never to back away as often or as long as I did.
Going from posting ten to one or two posts a week just seems weird to me. So for that, and all of the inconsistencies that have taken place around here lately, I apologize. And, I’m so glad that you’ve stuck around!
With that, I’m going to sign off and get back to one of the many half-written posts I have drafted to share with you soon.
I appreciate each and every one of you who checks in here!
See you in the morning!

Hi Heather! Well you know MY thoughts on this. Go out and live REAL life in front of you, and come back to blogging if and when it feels right. You know? I can only imagine how it must be to find direction each day with all of the changes you’ve been faced with — but life never gives you more than you can handle. And you have a great partner to see you through it all in Scott. Keep at it, lady. And for the record: I would love LOVE to see you dancing again hehehe. 🙂 Love ya, friend!!!
Heather
Thanks, Ashley! Yes I do! I’m a firm believer of exactly what you said. Life isn’t always easy … or easy to figure out for that matter. It’s a process you learn to navigate your way through. I’m so thankful to have Scott by my side! There’s never any dull moments, that’s for sure. Thanks for the support! xo

What you’re going through is totally normal! Changes like you’ve gone through can definitely be overwhelming and you also need to take some time to experience life on life’s terms. Need a post idea? Coping with searching for a job, moving, and staying sane! You’re welcome haha.

Haha, that’s a great one! I’ve thought about posting more “real talk” like that, and will feel like I can when I post more consistently. I’m looking forward to getting back at it!

I’m always so impressed by any blogger who can maintain a super consistent schedule. I’ve been slowly working on cutting back posting, mostly because I want to deliver great content and I don’t want to post just to post. It’s such a challenge to strike a balance between blogging and our life outside of blogging.
Heather
I feel like every blogger hits a wall at some point … I’ve learned that it’s best to take a step back when I feel I need it. At the end of the day, life happens whether I blog about it or not 😉 Finding the balance of what to share can certainly be a challenge!

Your honesty is what I love best about your blog. You have always just put it all out there, despite it being any of our business.
You are REAL. Living REAL life and REAL life experiences that come along the way. The highs/low’s of life we all go through. You do you WHEN you can, WHY you can and HOW you can—-always. This is coming from someone older obviously out here.
You are doing FABULOUS Heather. Life will all fall in to place in every way for you and Scott. Promise.

Glad you aren’t leaving for good – I have missed reading your posts! Thank goodness for insta and snap!

I’m sorry you’ve been going through a funk. I have, too. I’m an attorney who’s completely disgusted with her industry, and I’m trying to figure out what to do next. I understand the feeling of not knowing, feeling overwhelmed, and feeling like you’re spinning your wheels. Sometimes it helps me to know I’m not alone, so in the event you’re also like me – just know you’re not alone and that somehow it will all work out. It just doesn’t seem to happen on our timeline.

Girl, I think taking a break from blogging is healthy – you have a LIFE. Live it! Many bloggers are changed to their desk, responding to comments and writing daily, with no real life. Enjoy yours. Your readers will keep up with you 🙂
Good luck on the job search. I can imagine having that many options is overwhelming, but i have no doubt you will find your niche.

So glad that you will continue your writing. Excited to keep following you on your new adventures. DREAM BIG!

Although I have missed your posts, I completely understand that you are going through so many changes right now and it is totally understandable that blogging is not your #1 priority during these changes. I hope you are doing well and I can’t wait to hear more from you soon!

It seems like you’re making the best lemonade out of life’s lemons right now by doing exactly what you’re doing. Sometimes blogging has to take a backseat, and I can’t wait to read what’s happening when you do figure things out and want to share!

Welcome back, friend! 🙂 You have experienced SOOOO many huge changes in a short amount of time, so it’s totally understandable. Take your time, know that great things are planned for you, have faith, and we’ll be here!
